Thanks, Dom, for the shout out. Thanks for supporting Indie authors. We all rely on avid readers and video-bloggers like you for spreading the word. Much appreciated. I'm looking forward to your review of the Grey Bastards. -Palmer Pickering
I love the artistic touches some indie authors work into their physical books - it's incredible. I loved the in-depth look you gave on those last few books. And overall looks like a great collection!
Some of the ideas in publishing are something else. A wonderful selection of interesting books. I look forward to hearing more about them so that I can add to my own TBR! 👍
I agree, and this one looks gorgeous. I mean, those with the same image, like Thiago's, also look great, but there's just something extra about Spirits of Vengeance.
Thanks Petrik, and yes, after falling in love with it when you showed it off, I decided to use some of my Christmas book money to pick up a copy. It's stunning!
Yes, me too. Part of it was perhaps down to being unwell when I was finishing off the book, but ultimately, a book generally has to be good if you're still thinking about it a good time after reading it! The main bits I was a bit unsure about were pretty inconsequential really, and mostly forgotten now, leaving jut the good!
My copy of Hunger of the Gods just arrived yesterday and I’m looking forward to diving into it soon! And I’ve been curious about The Coward since its release but haven’t seen anyone review it yet. Excited to hear your eventual thoughts.
Excellent! For The Coward, I know Andrew from Andrew's Wizardly Reads just finished it and enjoyed it, so I imagine he might have a review upcoming. I will hopefully read it next month, but I'm a bit chock-full in May, so it might be a little longer!
I know! I saw some of the others as well, and they are great. Another reader had Tinnstra too and it was a different illustration, so it's not just a copy of a template or anything either!
@@dominishbooks I love when it feels personal. I make it a point of writing personal deidcations too. As long as it may take. Wrote like 350 and ill keep it up until my hand falls off
What a great haul! It's so wonderful to see that you are receiving books from friends and authors, that's so nice of them and I can only imagine how incredible that must feel! I recently hauled A Touch of Light after seeing your review and I am really looking forward to it. Great to hear that the book has grown on you! And I also plan to get to Army of the Cursed asap, because I have been wanting to pick that up ever since I won your giveaway. Also, you mentioned The Empress of Beasts and Mist is quite dark? Sign me up! I have been eyeing that one for a while now, so I think it's time to prioritize it! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on all the books you haven't read yet! Happy reading ;)
Thanks Esmay, and yes, it does feel incredible 🥰 I'm hoping to finish Empress in the next day or so, and I'll give more details once I have. I'll drop you some notes in Discord in the mean time though!
you know me so well .. of course I want to "force" a buddy read with you 🤣 amazing book haul. and i am really curious about Obsidian Awakening. the Illustrations are next level and if the story is sth i enjoy, i'd totally buy the physical copy .. bc lets face it, its absolutely gorgeous.
Another exciting video as always! I have a question for you. I’m a sucker for scope and spectacle. What are some of the most eye-popping (in a readerly sense) and spectacular series that you’ve read, with the scale of things we’ve seen in media most recently with the infinity saga
Thanks! For the series question, it's difficult because it's such a different medium. I would say Shadows of the Apt by Adrian Tchaikovsky though for the sheer scope and amazement of the worldbuilding. Also a shout out to a standalone, The Maleficent Seven by Cameron Johnston, which I've likened to the Avengers in that it has a collection of OP main characters pulling together to face down a growing threat.

Thanks Palmer. I'm looking forward to that one too, and to Moon Deeds!
Surprise books are always such wonderful presents!
Truer words might never have been spoken!
I love the artistic touches some indie authors work into their physical books - it's incredible. I loved the in-depth look you gave on those last few books. And overall looks like a great collection!
Absolutely this. And yes, the last couple of books deserved more than just a look at the cover, they are stunning.
Some of the ideas in publishing are something else. A wonderful selection of interesting books. I look forward to hearing more about them so that I can add to my own TBR! 👍
I agree, the extra freedom that these indie authors have makes for some truly beautiful books that we'd just never see otherwise.
Hi 👋 wow you got some great fantasy books!! I hope u like all ur reads!! Happy reading to you!! 🌸🦋
Thank you, hopefully it won't take me long to get to them!
Sometimes you just want to display the book covers. No matter the content 🤣 these are all so gorgeous 😍
Yes, there's some absolutely beautiful ones there!
Oooh I really need to get my hands on Grey Bastards! Great video
Thanks Cassidy. I hear good things about The Grey Bastards, so hopefully it's a winner!
Yesss The Coward is great especially if you miss Gemmell
I can't wait to try. I definitely miss a bit of Gemmell in my life.
Very intrigued by We Break Immortals
Me too!
Spirits of Vengeance 😍 I always like when the naked hardcover has a different image than what’s on the dust jacket.
I agree, and this one looks gorgeous. I mean, those with the same image, like Thiago's, also look great, but there's just something extra about Spirits of Vengeance.
@@dominishbooks Yes, Thiago’s is really beautiful as well. It’s on my TBR!
I'm hoping to add quite a few of these to my collection soon
Awesome! I'm hoping to add some more from your self-pub shelf at some point in the near future!
great book haul :) - also thanks for sharing Black Dragon Books love to support UK independents :)
Thank you! I need to utilise BDB a bit, but they have some really good prices as well, so they are very appealing.
Great video! I am glad the book arrived!
Thanks mate, on both counts! I'm looking forward to reading this one too!
Such an awesome book haul! And heck yeah for getting Spirits of Vengeance! One of my favorites! 😊
Thanks Petrik, and yes, after falling in love with it when you showed it off, I decided to use some of my Christmas book money to pick up a copy. It's stunning!
I’m reading We Break Immortals in May
Not sure I'll be able to fit it in in May, but we'll see.
So happy the book has grown on you, and I'm the one who needs to thank you for all the support!

OWWWWWWW Dedication with an illustration is so cool! Gives me ideas! grats on all the new books mate

I'm possibly (tbc) doing a buddy read of Obsidian in June with Zara.

I take no responsibility whatsoever!
