    Thanks for taking the time to address viewer questions Matt. Much appreciated.

    So the wife needs a noise generator to drown out the theater. "Alexa! Play Thunderstorms!" LOL
    I really love the level of knowledge you impart on these videos. Yours is one of those professions I wish I had gone to school for.

    Excellent answer thanks Mat! (These are British pounds 😂)

      Hah. Thank you! I know it wasn’t funny money and it’s much appreciated.
      I think we announced it a while back but I will be in London this summer. I’ll be combing work with pleasure and likely have my calibration kit if that is something you or anyone you know may need.

      @@PoesAcoustics unfortunately i live up north but would have loved for you to calibrate my Trinnov MK iw300 setup. Maybe when I upgrade my house next year I’ll have you consult on the design , and calibrate remotely 👍 hoping to do waveforming so looking forard to your videoed on that. Thanks again

    I love the room inside a room concept. There is an excellent documentary on the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie where he entire concert hall is floating inside a room.

    I sure like that floating floor idea. The subwoofers would be enough. No bass shakers needed.

    You said same “ducting” for the theater room and office? Did you use duct board and tortuous, indirect paths connecting the two?

    • @PoesAcoustics
      @PoesAcoustics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is duct board for the main trunk and then flex duct for the last portion. There are only two rooms on the system. The only common point is the initial branching of the main duct.

    Matt's theater room can double as a panic room. 😁

      Hah maybe for fire protection. Not so much armed bandits. The construction methods are similar though. If I had installed bullet resistant wall panels instead of drywall, you would be right.

    Is it Perlisten in wall speakers you have? Their back boxes certainly look substantial compared to many I've used previously, which aren't often plastic and benefitted from a layer of Dynamat or similar for extra damping on the rear panel.

      @PoesAcoustics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes my theater is Perlisten S series in walls. The boxes are aluminum with bitumen or butyl damping material.

    If the walls of the outer room are concrete/brick then when you build the stud inner drywall on the decoupled floor then do you use insulation between the studs or just air gap? Because I've seen that some just leaves a 5cm gap between the brick wall and the inner stud wall saying that insulation is not needed between the walls if the brick wall is about 30cm. Sorry if I'm not clear, not a native speaker :D

      Insulation is always a good idea. It damps resonances that build up and improve the damping of sound energy transferred.

    Great content Matt, can we get a deep dive into speaker placement, maybe one video for bed layer and another for atmos height positioning, there seems to be a rising difference between the psychoacoustic approach and now Channa (techno dad) advising people that it’s wrong and heights should be placed where the Atmos renderer says so (directly above the bed layer) this theory given a wide room will have nothing above the MLP which seems to be of concern

    Maybe your wifey would be open to sound canceling headphones ?
    Or maybe a white noise generator ?

    Anyone that builds theaters for people other than Elon Musk must make compromises

    • @PoesAcoustics
      @PoesAcoustics  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I bet I would need to compromise even for Musk. Compromises aren’t always just about costs. Sometimes it’s also about competing requirements.
