If you mount a pulley to the motor with a belt going to another pulley, put the counterweight on the standalone pulley. It won't be as hard on your motor bearings.

Thanks Stefan, I built it several years ago when I was working on slot of chainsaws and mower & 4 wheeler carbs, I'd disassemble a carb put it in half can of Gunk and let run over nite, it looked GREAT the next day🚴🤓
Sure, it would be better then just soaking it, I used what I had and did it the way I was thinking at the time, if I'd done it a week later it would have been still different 🤔 thanks for watching and the comment

In the old days we would totally disassemble the carb and run a wire threw every hole and jet and always new accelerator pump, and always may sure fuel pump is good,,, if it's not no matter how good the carb is,, it won't run right

I use Simple green ALOT in my ultrasonic cleaner and it does Great,, in my ultrasonic cleaner I can put a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid in 1/2 gal water and it does jewelry and most other things pretty well ,, thanks for the comment and watching 😎
I made that diy machine probably 11-12 yrs ago out of misc available to me cheap or what I already had here, way before I ever thought I could afford to own an ultrasonic cleaner, which I've only have a couple yrs now, and if I ever bought another ultrasonic cleaner it would be 4 times the size of the one I have now, thanks for the question and for watching 😎
I've gotten the same reply Many times, that simple carb cleaner I made years ago in about 15 mins had cleaned Many things for me, it was a common thing to leave it run for 3+4 days none stop, it's will be fine for what it's used for, in fact I still use it sometimes to clean bicycle chains, cassettes, and misc when my ultrasonic cleaner is full, after running that for days the motor or bearing housings are not even warm,

Thats pretty cool. I put an electric sander on the side of the can and it vibrates
Good idea, I made mine out of misc I had in the shop, and to be honest I never thought of the sander idea😁

What about strapping a cheap hand sander. Vibration would seem to be 100 fold. Run for an hour or so

Soaking in gasoline is better then nothing, but carb cleaner would be better and the best would be in a ultrasonic cleaner

Sounds like it needs to be taken apart and run wire threw all the holes and jets the put new accelerator pump it the carb
I use Simple Green D (D means safe for Aluminium) the Aluminium doesn't turn black.
