I went last March 2022 and it’s sad to see so many people get scammed by paying more than that. 15 pounds was still more than what others were paying, as the manager said I have a British passport so I have to pay more, which is unfair.
MashaAllah, I like this hotel and would like to stay from 2 Shaban to 5 Shaban, do you know a way to book it? I can not find relevant information over the internet. Do you have any contact of the hotel directly? Or someone who speaks Urdu/English who can help us booking?
Please except my sincere apologies for not Replying earlier. One of the ways that you can book it is directly with the hotel. The other way you can book it is via the travel agent that I used, as a package deal, where they also provided ziyarats. However, my personal advice would be to book it directly with the hotel.

Hello, The visa is available on arrival for all USA, EU, UK residents. I went to Najaf from Chicago and no questions were asked until we arrived in Najaf, where they requested to see my hotel reservation and round trip air ticket. It was a quick in and out. It was just me and my son, 10 years old. We entered Iraq as individual tourists and were not with a group. However, once you reach your hotel, you can request a tour group or personal tour by paying extra. They rarely speak English there unless you are in a major hotel, so translation/communication was a little bit of an issue. But over all, a very very good experience and we can’t wait to go back again. We booked round trip using Qatar airways going from Chicago USA to Najaf, Iraq. We then visited karbala and returned to Najaf and completed our ziyarats. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. If you would like to get in touch with an Imam whom we had used to help us take to different places, here is his contact information: Husein Abbas +964 780 401 1353, he is living in Iraq. He can be contacted by whatsapp as well.

I was so confused & in panic reaching out to different tour operators in Pakistan, however some reply with good information but some not hence I was thinking to ditch this idea and go on my own, and here you go MASHALLAH you have shared your first hand experience. Also shall I get in touch directly with the hotel because I checked there in no website of the hotel you mentioned, or do I need to get in touch with some representative ? also shall I book my flight for Baghdad airport or Najaf airport. I will be traveling from Netherlands, Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. Also how much is the visa fees on arrival, I presume $60 or more. I will save the no. of Imam I believe he is a tour guide or a religious guy? Sorry for asking so many questions. I understand, it was very hectic and intimidating for me as well in the beginning. My personal suggestion would be to get in touch with the Hotel personally and ask them to forward to you the confirmation for the Hotel both in Arabic and English if possible. Just print it out and keep it in your passport to show upon arrival in Iraq. Flying directly to the Najaf is a bit more expensive compared to Baghdad. Baghdad is about two hours drive from Najaf. I flew into Najaf because it just made more sense to me rather arriving in Baghdad, taking transportation to Najaf, then to Karbala, and again to Baghdad to depart Iraq. The visa fee was $72 per person and we got a 90 day - single entry Visa. I was only there for barely 1 week due to work obligations. The Imam spoke Urdu and Arabic, and is originally from India. Very knowledgeable. If you would like to go there and gain more knowledge on history and have someone who is able to translate for you, you can hire him or any other guide once you reach the hotel. Hello - this was a part of package deal for 10 days trip - which included ground transportation, food and visitations and guidances. I do not know how much the cost of the hotel room was only. But upon further questioning, I found out that it was $55 per night, per room that included breakfast, lunch & dinner. This charge can vary based on the seasons. Hope it helps.
