The reality is that there was never a climate for a monarchy within the newly independent United States and the people would have never tolerated it, so the option was not on the table to begin with. Not only is this untrue but I don’t understand what Washington has to do with this video.

There is correspondence between various officers who were frankly tired of war and the sluggish progress of congress, and there was some fear that the soldiers would never receive back pay. Essentially they were just gossping and tossing ideas around that doing a mixed system like the British with the idea that GW getting things done for said backpay and progress.
