I bought mine at Walmart for $400. I'm keeping it. I can't believe the amazing quality and value for the price. This isn't just a netbook. This is a real computer which will run office, play some games, and allow you to watch movies and surf the web. It does not have a cd/dvd drive, which is fine because external ones are only $35. That said, it's fast enough for me. It does everything I have wanted it to do and in a very attractive design. Buy it at Walmart. You can return it if you are unsatisfied.
Been using one as a travel companion (i3 4010U variant, switched HDD for 850 EVO 250GB), and it runs great. I dont really use it as a tablet at all, rather as a small laptop instead.
PYrok3n I went to the Apple - iTunes - Downloading site, and it says the requirements are: Windows System Requirements PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer 400MB of available disk space Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store So yes you should be able to download it to any laptop/computer.
PYrok3n HDMI ports on laptops are typically "one-way". They are video out ports. You connect it to a monitor or to a HDTV. Your laptop can be used as a second screen, not as a first screen, not like a monitor or a TV. But these days, yah never know. Technology is advancing by the minute lol. Today you can't, but tomorrow maybe. Google is your Best Friend right now. hahaha.
I'm torn on this as well. The Transformer will get you better battery life, a bit snappier app loading, and a true "tablet" form factor that happens to have a keyboard attachment. The Inspiron 11 3000-series is a laptop that happens to have a touchscreen. It is more user upgradeable and the processor is a bit faster (there is even a Core i3 dual core model but it's around $600). and you have more storage space and ports.
I have the same notebook. After getting it I was able to upgrade to Windows 10. While upgrading to Windows 10 my laptop wouldn't start up and now my laptop is stuck in an endless rebooting mode, please help!
+Sakura RxD contact dell for restore media i think you can download it from their website or perhaps you can purchase a memory stick with the restore loaded on it from dell and restore from that. You'll need a usb dvd drive if all you can get is restore disks. I hope you didn't run the upgrade without being plugged into AC, that's a bad thing if your battery dies and never try to do anything else while the upgrade is in progress.
just got me one, go with pentium 2 quad core at least, i3/i5 even better. Despite what dell says you can put a single DDR3 8 GIGABYTE low power SODIMM on here (crucial makes one, 25.00 newegg.com). Swap the hard drive for an SSD (150.00 for a 500 gigabyte right now, smaller sizes less)it will boost battery life a lot and it will start up lots faster. Next upgrade single band wifi card to dual band card 10 bucks from china. Basically you end up with a slightly heavy windows tablet with more storage and a free keyboard when you want one.
I'm a dental student and I'm thinking about buying this laptop I pretty much wanna use it to take notes and study and some other regular stuff like downloading lectures or watching TH-cam or Netflix. now that you know why I wanna buy it and what I'm gonna use it for , do you guys think it's a good device for me and I prefer an answer from someone who actually owns and knows the device. thank you
So I'm looking for a new laptop for college and I really don't know what to get and is wondering if this would be a good option or if you could recommend anything that would work well in a college something. My limit is about $500 and I would love something that is a convertible into tablet so recommendations would be amazing
looking at one for my girlfriend. would this be a good student computer, used for writing papers, browsing the Internet, playing music, and she likes to takeots of pictures so would this do the job. the one I'm looking at has a Pentium N3540 and 500gb 5400rpm HD. appreciate any advice thanks
Hi, can this laptop run photoshop cs3 for basic photo editing? And, does this laptop have an on-screen keyboard in its tablet/tent/kiosk mode? Just asking thanks a lot! Considering to get this cheers.
I'm looking for a new laptop to play my sims3. I only play that game and it has low system requirements. I use an external hard drive of 1tb to play. Is it possible to play the game if I upgrade the ram to 8gb on this computer?
i hate when someone down play the system but you dont even own the product ... i only came on here to see what it looked like in hand and judge what the proccessor and everything else on my own
PEOPLE WHO OWN THIS LAPTOP. Is it extremely slow? Does it usually hang sometimes? and just a really horrible experience using this machine???? It seems like ever since it updated itself to windows 10, It's been very very very slow. Even typing on it lags a little bit. Most webpages freeze for a 4-5 seconds, and it's just very SLOW. Does anyone know how or what I should do to fix this? Does this happen to anyone else with this laptop? Please respond
seems like a problem with your HDD... it might be spinning slower due to some physical damage hence not allowing the data to be read fast enough ... you should do a hdd speed test and reply back
i had one of these a while back. at first i had the pentium processor but then i ended up upgrading to the i3 and there was no noticeable difference in day to day use
It hangs often, and it is pretty slow since upgrading to 10. I don't really expect much out of this device, especially since mine is a few years old. So yeah, same problem.
+Aro Bezerkaou the hard drive failed on me 1 week back. Apparently that is the common problem with these laptops. Dell knew and shipped them out anyway. Hard drive failed on me 1 month after my warranties period. BS.
Oh man, I haven't had that problem yet, but I will watch out for it. Shouldn't be too bad because I plan on upgrading to an Apple if they come out with a new one on the ninth, as rumors say. And yes, that's complete bullshit.
Could this (or laptops similar to it) be used for streaming video websites? I plan to use this as a second screen for Sunday Football that can have a game on it but also switch over to say view my fantasy team or stats. Also, because I spend some time out of the country, I sometimes have to resort to watching games through other..lets say non official websites. (these websites often crash or have a ton of adds that pop up) Would it be able to handle that? Say one tab with a game..and another tab open for stats. That's all I would basically use this for...if it can handle the illegal websites I think I should be good. If anyone has any feedback (shame on me for streaming through those sites I know..but out of the country where I cant watch what I pay for..hey what can I do?)
+ZOGGDOG If you got their web version no, if you have the standalone you only need internet to send it off you machine and of course for updates to office.
+Shirley Lugo Look for updates from dell for the touchpad driver but windows should automatically take care of that. When mine arrived the left button was hung up on the palmrest plastic and Dell wanted me to mail it back in for service (I said hell no not for this) it was easy to fix. Take out the screws and gently pry off the back then remove the screws for the battery and unplug it and take it out. Look for two strange looking short silver phillips screws take those out and the whole touch panel with daughterboard comes out of the palmrest, line it up properly and test the buttons, put the screws back in, plug the battery back in, put the screws back in the battery and pop the back on it then test before buttoning it all back down and reinstalling the screws. Only other issue might be drivers if this or drivers doesn't fix it then the panel could be bad is it ok with a mouse?
+Duane Healing they do it just a different model and lets be honest the hundreds more they charge you..it would be better to just get somebody to open it up and slap a 80 buck ssd in their. heck while their at it chuck a 8 gb stick in there for 40 bucks more lol
+NATE the DUKE I opt more for the dell one I like em both kinda but the built in cameras on the dells have been less grainy than hp's and Lenovo. I just got a new one with an i3 for a little over $322 with a year of free mcafee.. Lenovo does make some amazing gaming laptops though xps cant touch them but since dell acquired Alienware..Id say Alienware no contest..bout for the price..or a gamer on a budget a y50 for 1k isnt a bad deal!
+j breeze Reviews say better screen and speakers on these than yoga. Can't speak for the yoga but the dell is elegant inside everything is ribbon cables with clips you can even easily replace the AC plug if/when it gets damaged from long use or abuse (i.e. some numbnutz trips over the wire and breaks the connector inside) a monkey could fix this thing. Even pulling the whole motherboard doesn't look that bad if you really have to. When they get cheaper i may research a motherboard transplant with a faster cpu since that is the only thing that isn't socketed on this baby.
it is a great machine i have played games on it too high end game ! i bought it used for 150 on craigslist the guy didnt tell me it had isues with the wireless card so i think thats why he sold it so cheap. i ordered a new card bumm problem solved .
I've seen the Pentium N3530+4GB RAM model at Walmart for $449 but it's also available on Amazon (right now just shy of $395). Best Buy also has it but I don't remember the price off hand.

Would like to see Brad's review of the new Dell Inspiron 13, the new Dell XPS 13, and a side-by-side/pros & cons comparison of those two . . .
Will this laptop be alright for holding an iTunes library and also watching HD TH-cam videos?

I just got this laptop, refurbished for $314 on Amazon and I LOVE IT!!!! :D

I went to the Apple - iTunes - Downloading site, and it says the requirements are:
Windows System Requirements
PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
So yes you should be able to download it to any laptop/computer.

Can you share your experiences of this laptop
I've seen a past review with Asus T100. How does this compare to the T100?
Is there a way to upgrade the HDD to a SSD? If you so, can you please give me a video on it?

Test Minecraft please
