@@Goldenbrown.coffee I have a curious question. I grew up in South India drinking filter coffee. I recently leanrt about phin brew vietnamese coffee. And the idea is extremely similar. Do you think there's a difference in both? Which one originated first?
One trick is to have lid softly placed on the top, as well as a wdt too to break up clumps. If you fully close the lid, you could create too tight of a seal and the coffee will sit stagnant in the top chamber. Edit: The ratio I use is 1:6. That means you used six grams of water per gram of coffee.
Awesome video! Pretty great technique too! The trick is getting down the tom-tom between the cup and the tumbler. Most add sugar too and/or some chicory to the coffee before brewing. They say that every family in southern India has their own blend of chicory and coffee
This culture is fading now a days. I lived in Bangalorr and Hyderabad and now days they serve Nescafe inatant coffee in the name of Filter coffee.. 😅 I felt so cheated when i saw then cutting the instant coffee pouch and pitting it in the coffee maker. 😂
If you stretch the SIF (South Indian filter) coffee by pouring it with more vigour a few times back and forth with some sugar, you can freeze it with a stick in the small glass to make a potent coffee popsicle.
I brew this coffee every morning. Usually Bayar's, Kothas or Raghavendra Coffee goes well with this filter. See if you can get your hands on these brands.
Great video. Idk if it is taboo to state, but lance h. Has some very interesting videos on zero bypass brewing. Oh btw this morning i made espresso for Mrs KG and used one of your tips for latte art. She was very impressed. Thank you for helping my coffee game!
@@Goldenbrown.coffee thank you. Others in the coffee community get butt hurt when other channels are mentioned. You seem pretty dope. Hey did you get a chance to check out the Jleverespresso espresso machine?
I have so many memories of my mom making me this before school! Thanks for showing my culture
So glad I got to try it. Loved it
Me too ❤

The difference is that the south Indian filter coffee is a mix of coffee and chicory. It emanates a peculiar smell. Very enticing
South culture is just as amazing as ours, love from North India 😊

What about the sugar?
We add a bit of sugar too

It looks like a Vietnamese coffee maker - a phin - would work very similarly and is decently common if the davra (sp?) can’t be found

Lassi is not North Indian lassi .... Coffee become South Indian coffee!!!
Because coffee is famous in South.. 100% coffee is grown in South Indian.. But lassi is everywhere.
Lol, everyone knows that lassi is a Punjabi drink. It's literally a stereotype in india.
But coffee in india is grown in south India only!

Nice video but you SHOULD NOT boil the milk. It should be a little cooler.
