You’ve well and truly mangled my head. The only solution I can offer is find yourself a good medium and ask him/her to have a chat with Arnie on your behalf. Hope you are well Mr B 👍
Hi, Really good video to say the least Pal, which has helped age my Sea Hog Trooper. This boat has been mine for about 19 years and its a 1998 Hog which has never let me down. Was hoping you could please help by telling me if possible, what type of tilt tube steering arm i need and also steering cable, as attemted to upgrade the old steering which entered the engin bay with a kind of straight rod and some kind of ball joint attached to a white plate, which went pair shape, and the steering cable going through the tilt tube was hitting the side of the engin bay and preventing me from turning the engin to port full lock. Also can not find the serial number on the Evinrude Jhonston 60hp outboard that is fitted to it so a bit lost at the moment. Any help would be much appreciated Pal. All the best Peter.
If I remember correctly it's a 13ft teleflex steering cable plus a splashwell mounting kit something like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204419490116?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=EJ60EJ9aToG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=xO-CVNLxT3O&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Hope that helps
Morning, Your spot on with the steering mount Pal, but thats what i have removed to try and upgrade by passing the cable through the outboard tilt tube and then using a tilt tube steering arm to connect up the other side of the cable with the hole in it when it exits the tilt tube on the outboard to inprove the steering.
@Pete.108 There is not alot of room in the splashwell and the angle makes it difficult to use the engine bracket ... that's why Arnie used the splashwell mount
@@thehogfather2 Its cool Pal as i have came up with a master plan to sort this issue. But thank you for taking the time to help me out which is much appreciated. Cheers Pete.
Hiya, my model is a super and serial number simply reads ‘1499’ has no other plate and the the max hp is 60. Can you even guess with this little to work with? Andrew
Hi, mine is a PBC plate, plus I do know roughly the age of it by the build type, the last four digits are F108 ?? Is there a way I could contact you ??
@markfletcher3728 it would be a bit of a guess then but if you send me photos of your boat I can give you a ball park date good enough for insurance purposes

Hi Steve,
My hog is F1 966
Its cool as i have came up with a master plan to sort the wee problem with the steering arm.
Thanks anyway pal.
My Hunter has none of these plates, just a very faded plastic "badge" on the splash well area!
