Tiff must be one of the most trusted people behind the wheel in world history. So many great videos and experiences with this man. And we thank him for it!
A cool era indeed ! But the F1 GTR had practically nothing in common with the road version. Starting with the front bumper, the windshield, from the engine to the exhaust: heavily modified. The F1 GTR dominated mainly due to lack of competition. From that perspective, the 1997-1999 era was far more interesting. When the other factories started designing similar cars, the F1 GTR didn't really matter anymore. Overall, the F1 GTR was a brief side note in motorsport history. The English, in particular, naturally see things differently and rave about the old BPR times and a strange Le Mans victory.
@@superfast30 They used the S70/3 engine in the GTR, the road version was the S70/2. Gear box luckily lasted the 24 hour race and was modified afterwards.
@@superfast30 I have to admit that you are correct. I recently spoke to a BMW engineer. He said that Paul Rosches large-volume engine probably didn't need any major modifications for racing. Likewise the gearbox.
Wow. Tiff drove the shit out that road f1 back then. I always though, ohh it’s soft, but I love it anyways. Now as an adult snd understanding people, Nigel was an F1 driver. He knew what he was doing. He kept it right at the limit. Wow!
Seems like you aren't familiar with Tiff's other car reviews. He has driven other cars of that caliber. In fact, during his review of the the GT1 Tiff states that he prefers the GT1 over the F1 GTR.
you prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Neil Jamie thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
What a wonderful man & machine ! I always love it when Mr. Needell gets into a McLaren F1 & drives it. How he gets all happy and gushes about it like she is his 1st crush. Reminds me of Meg Ryan's orgasm scene in "When Harry Met Sally" at Katz Deli.......& "Yes I'll have what he's having" - LOL :''''''''')))

That engine, what a car.
To me, regardless of what has come after, this is still the pinnacle of road car development, really the purest drivers car.
Incredible era. Production engine and trans equipped car that dominated Lemans and sports car racing!

@@Nik_Roock Um....the GTR used the standard engine and gear box!

@@Nik_Roock Not a huge difference between the /2 and /3. Still 95% the same as the road going V12

Classic Tiff
You know youre great when you change the rules of the game
Greatest car ever in my eyes.
I bet that was the greatest moment of his life.

He'd already stood on the podium at Le Mans at that point in his life.

Awesome upload!
More "Tiff" GT to come soon 👍🏁
He probably had no idea, while sliding into the driver seat and probably making scratches, just how valuable this car would become.
this was the gtr version so there was no question about value that time. Now its collectible car as road car also
Tiff Needle
The first Top Gear GT test I remember from Tiff was of the XJ220C & Lotus Esprit in ‘93. It was on TH-cam, but not seen it, recently.
Got that... I'll upload my version soon 👍🏁
Tiff tests Jaguar XJ220C and Lotus Esprit S300 , Monday 8:00pm GMT+1 👍🏁
@@MontyMotorsport : God bless you sir 😇

Brilliant Upload Mate if you have any race highlights of F1 that’s would be a idea video of the 2000-2002 seasons By itv Jim and Tony
I think the agility of this car could be even higher with a modern suspension system to reduce tilt and roll.
Bit more than a ‘million dollars’ now tiff
It sounds like he’s having the best sex of his life.
You were supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
Woww... thank you much again 🙏😇
You're welcome 😊
Shame that nobody does shows like this anymore. Either all the 90s car show stars have no funding or are simply too old.
People want to see entertainment more than facts. That's what The Grand Tour is all about.
