Easily one of my faves, but its not As Above So Below, level of underrated. AASB is my favorite and I wish we could have explored more of that world and premise more.
Gruv already sent me a copy of Scream Factory The Strangers 4K earlier this week. So they do ship titles early. They do this with big studio releases sometimes as well. I highly recommend Gruv.
Glad to own it on 4K especially it has special features well at least the blu ray version does and wish they could of added it with the 4K version too but oh well it’s still good to have special features on it and my old copy didn’t have any special features at all for some reason
This version of the film is way better than the original yes I know the 70"s film has it's hokey fun an did what it could for back in the day but to me Amityville Horror 05 is a better remake
I appreciate what you're doing Ken you stand by and live by physical media till the end sick or not I hope you feel better soon and Yes I do need that Amityville 4k I love that movie
My copy just came in, first time watch; excited! I also got Double Jeopardy and thought that looked absolutely phenomenal. Looking forward to watching Red Eye for the first time as well. So many great upcoming releases! Thank you for keeping us updated. And since getting into physical media, the Blu Ray sure is very real 😂
I love this movie so it's going to be the 4K for me. I am currently building quite a comprehensive Amityville collection (and there are a LOT of Amityville movies lol) so at the end of it I will be the proud owner of some of the worst movies ever made but what can I say I've got to do what I've got to do know what I mean? Anyway another great video, thanks dude.
I only own this on blu-ray, mainly for the cast and I got it dirt cheap on Hamilton Book. No need to ever upgrade. As a fan of the books and the original film and it's sequel, I wasn't a fan of the mashup between the source material and Poltergeist (If you know, you know).
Buy nice or buy twice as they say. Hard to be patient at times, but it always pays off and a better version eventually releases. I’ve been trying to navigate the double dipping thing and trying not to keep collection backwards, just to have a better version come out right after.
@@NicholasNathaniel7 Yeah, that's really true. There's is always a Special, Limited, One Time Only, Last Print down the line eventually. It's back to the VHS era, how many versions do I own from my favorite films are a many, been collecting ever since. It's a hobby and it comes with it. Enjoy my friend 😉
My order would be amityville 2 the prequel then the remake and finally the original. Number 2 highly underrated and much scarier than the other 2. As for the 100 sequels MEH
My opinion ...people buy this cause every other reviewer has it just to be like everyone else.....hey do your own thing don't follow other people make the collection your own.......
Word to the wise, why not do a video without these annoying transitions? You have these very annoying transitions, and it's beginning to drive me batty. And I can not stress this enough. It's an, not a. Thank you.
This movie absolutely sucked. It was just another one of those ones they were pumping out 20 years ago. Revisiting an old idea and not putting any serious slot into the original story and maybe improving on it. I love Ryan Reynolds like anybody else. But this had to have been his worst film ever
I can't believe you wasted money on this garbage of a remake from the original classic . Bc I remember seeing this when it came out back in 2005. And this remake was nothing new just your typical run of the mill remake
Even the original wasn't all that good either from what i can remember it was a borefest but i did enjoy the amityville horror possession such a much better film and story and had better elements of a supernatural feel. But when i read the reviews and from friends i knew from work even they said it wasn't as good from the original and was boring why i never watched this remake pointless if it wasn't better than the old 1977 low budget film. But i did love the 2013 remake of the evil dead and that's how you do a classic horror remake.
Even though Ryan Reynolds was miscast in this movie, I didn't think it was that bad. I liked it better than the original. The original was too hokey. The alleged true story that it was based on, it was discovered to be a hoax.
@@bioshock6935 yeah the original is rough. I think people might have rose colored glasses on when they say it’s a good horror film. The remake is just a product of its time. It’s just a generic haunted house story. And I’d argue it’s worse now because Ryan Reynolds has been since type cast as Deadpool and it’s hard to separate that when you watch him here. So his lines come off as quippy and “funny” when at the time they were meant to be serious.
Oh look, it’s another trash horror movie being overpriced and released on 4k. I’m sure there will be tons of obsessive collectors who will buy it, hey, at least they’re keeping physical media alive! 😂😂
Lots of people love this remake. Why do you care if it gets released on 4k anyway? If you don’t like then don’t buy it? Do you also go around saying musicians you don’t like shouldn’t be releasing albums? Grow up kid.
I hope the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 remake also gets an upgrade from Scream Factory.
That would be amazing
And The faculty
I’ll take The Uninvited while you’re at it
Came here to say this! Such a great remake.
I grew up with the originals, but I actually like this remake better
Yeah me too loved the remake and I grew up watching that one and the original one is fine but I just prefer the remake way more than the original film
Alright, this movie is ok but not better than the original.
I wish Scream had better sales. I’d prefer the 4K, but I’m not willing to pay more than $20 for this movie.
i just spent $60 on the "from dusk till dawn" blu ray mediabook that has all 3 of them on it so expect a 4k box set coming out soon. yall are welcome!
@@WolvesAtYourDoor Thank you for your service.
I just watched my copy yesterday and loved it! Looked great, sounded great, and was entertaining.

If you like Gruv...Orbitdvd is better than that
They always send every pre-order a week in advance. I order everything I can from GRUV
Saved me money...i have the Blu-Ray

Scream Factory needs to release the My Bloody Valentine remake on 4k uhd.
This version of the film is way better than the original yes I know the 70"s film has it's hokey fun an did what it could for back in the day but to me Amityville Horror 05 is a better remake
Good review and cool video Ken!👉🏼🙂👈

Might have to grab this one, love me some 2000s horror
Thx for your honesty!
I did the same and just bought the blu ray right before they announced the 4k. I'll stick with the blu ray. Thanks Ken! Doing the people's work.
The original Amityville Horror

Always liked the Ryan Reynolds remake

Damn you, Ken. Now I have to upgrade for that new bonus feature. 😂

@@beardedfilmguy Sorry bout that bro. Lol
Adore this movie. Pre-ordered from GRUV as soon as it was available. As always, Scream Factory did an amazing job
Behold the great double dipping $$$ crazy. Sometimes is better to buy smart ❤

Lmfao "I dont have that part of it"
The Mask on 4K is going to be announced next week! 🤣
Someone got my hopes up…
I liked the remake. It was good to see Ryan Reynolds in a dramatic, serious role.
If you haven't seen his movie The Voices I highly recommend it. I think it's the best performance of his career!
@MidLevelMedia Are the special features remastered?
It's rare that special features are remastered. Only the movie.
My hot take is that neither film is good enough. The original does not hold up. And this remake is just derivative.
Say, remember when Deadpool, May from Dark City, and Hit-Girl starred in a horror movie remake together?
Because I don't.
I need to rewatch Dark City.
I don't need it. I couldn't stand the remake. I love the original and I'll stick with that.
My opinion ...people buy this cause every other reviewer has it just to be like everyone else.....hey do your own thing don't follow other people make the collection your own.......
Reviewers are the worst. 😏
Movies is not a need, it's a want.
Way too many 'quiet, quiet BANG!' jump scares, it becomes tedious...
Pure garbage, not needed at all.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
The more 4k releases, the better. As long as the transfer gets good treatment.
Just my thoughts.
JERK!!!
I love the remake, don't really care for the original
