Once you come to grips with Sons of Anarchy being based loosely (yet decidedly) on Hamlet, you can then start to figure out the purpose of most characters in the show

So any logic you have just throw out the window. This show is mostly for entertainment. Besides that. Gemma and Tara’s relationship is a hilly road. You’ll see it develop and see why this relationship is a key one to the story. Next part is that a lot of the members aren’t flushed out yet so as episodes progress you’ll see more and more of them and how they affect the main 4-5 characters development. If it isn’t clear about why Gemma hates Tara you’ll find out soon enough. But watch closely jax progression from a guy who truly loves and cares for everyone he considers close to him. But as each secret and lie is unfolded and the events that happen each season change him more and more. You’ll see the progression starkly for those around him too. Red wood original means that this chapter of the club is the original one and all others come from it. I think the redwood is also case to the table they currently use or the one that was first used when the club was created ( just guessing at that portion) you’ll come to love Gemma and Tara’s relationship and so will you love the way everything occurs. To your topic about familiar characters actors being in other shows. I’ll tell you now that there are a lot of famous actors. Another thing is that a lot of your questions about how the show is will slowly be answered but new ones will emerge.
I’d also say the side glances and the way each main member interacts is crucial. So is the police chief, Gemma, clay, piney ( the old sick guy with the metal tube ) all of them are of the old guard. Meaning those from the original members days. Beyond that small suggestion and I know it’s a reaction and we want to see you react but can you please tone the pausing a bit. Have like intervals to talk about it? Beyond that I think truly this show will make you want to rewatch it. Just maybe for the character of Jax teller and his fate. Redwood original i think comes from the area they are at, by the redwood forest 🤔 or I thought! It's a fictional town up in northern cali by that area
