In case anyone's wondering, this song by Os Tincoãs has lyrics that relate to typical afro-brazilian religions, in this case, candomblé. It is a yoruba-based religion hundreds of years old which arrived in Brazil in its colonization process. Names like "Iansã" (also known as Oyá), "Xangô" and "Yemanjá" are some of the most well-known orixás (Orisás), as they are called. They are mystical, powerful figures in yoruba religions, including candomblé and umbanda (a brazilian religion founded in the 20th century). It is indeed a song with a lot of cultural power into it, and it is really worth getting deeper into this topic.

Hope this might help understanding some of these terms.
ARUANDA - An utopian place - the paradise of lost freedom, a citadel that would orbit the ionosphere of planet Earth in a spiritual dimension of transition.
SARAVA- It's an interjection used as a from of greeting and was constituted from the speech of the slaves of Bantu origin to pronounce the word "to save".
XANGÔ- He's the orixá of justice , dance, manly strenght ,of number, of lightning and fire, of the feast and music; represents the need and the joy of living, the intensity of life, the masculine beauty, the passion, the intelligence and the riches.
IANSÃ - Female umbanda warrior goddes and Xangô's wife. She's the orixá of winds and lightnings, commands the storms and also the spirit of the dead. Iansã also means "the mother of the rosy sky" or "the mother of the evening" so the rose her collor par excellence. She is closer to the lands consecrated traditionally to man, since she is present both on the battlefields ,where the great fights are solved ,and on the paths full of risk and adventure - in short ,it is always far from home; she does not like household chores. She is extremely sensual, falls in love frequently ,and the multiplicity of partners is a constant in her. So, she is also the orixá of passion.
IEMANJÁ- She is the orixá associated with rivers ,female fertility, maternity and primarily the process of the genesis of Àiyé (world) and the continuity of life. In Brazil she is known as "Queen of the sea", a its also worshiped by non-umbanda followers.
They are part of a religion Umbanda was created in Brasil in the beggining of the XX century by a combination of African traditions with Catholicism , Spiritism , and Indigenous American beliefs Typicallt, it is followed by afro-descendants and because of that , it faced a lot of prejudice, including police repression from the 20s to the 50s. It still faces a lot of prejudice nowadays.
Umbanda has many branches, in common they share the cult of ancestral entities and spirits associated with diverse deities, which may belong to Catholicism , African cults, Hindus, Arabs, among others In spite od different slopes there are some concepts fond that are common to all, these being.
    - A unique and omnipresent dod, called Olorum or Zambi.
-Belief in the Deities or "Orixás"
-Belief in the existence of guides or spiritual entities
    -The immortality of the soul
    -Belief in ancestors
    -Reincarnation
    -The karma
-Law of cause and effect by which the Umbandists pay the Good received with the good and the Evil with the divine justice .
They are also based on obedience to the basic teachings of human values, such as fraternity, charity and respect for others. Besides these these precepts are also the need of the mediumistic practice as for example serving as "apparatus" (the medium) to enable the communication between spirits and orixás with humans.

The Slaves from África brought their religion to brazil, as they did in other american countrys (in cuba with santería , in Haití and new Orleans with vodoo etc), Their religion syncretized with catholicism and was influenced by some native traditions creating something new. Candombe and umbanda from which these song is remixed are afrobrazilian religions not african.

There's a very good explanation at the comment section of the original song video:
      th-cam.com/video/zrymjzHlYEw/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgzGZg_bj8W-RB8qW5d4AaABAg.8ce43b7fv8n8fPGU79mbAI
"my english is poor, sorry any grammar error. This is a religious song linked to 'Candomblé': a brazilian cult that mixes catholicism and african rituals.
Lyrics are in portuguese and in some african languages. I'll tag it.
      [Portuguese]
Meu pai veio de Aruanda, e a nossa mãe é Iansã.
      [English]
My father comes from Aruanda (like 'Heaven' in afro-brazilian cults) and our mother is Iansã (brazilian name for the african orisa 'Oya').
      [Portuguese]
"O Gira, deixa a gira girar"
      [English]
This verse mades a challenge in order to be translated, because it is a pun: 'gira' is how we name some afro-brazilian ritual (from Kimbundu 'njira', that means 'way') and means also 'turn' in second and third person of present tense while 'girar (or girá)' means 'to turn'. I would translate it as 'Oh! dance and make the ritual goes on'.
      [Portuguese]
      Saravá, Iansã!
      [English]
      Salute, Oyá!
      [Portuguese]
      É Xangô e Iemanjá, iê
      [Meaning]
Simply a mention in honor to the orisas Xangô ( lord of justice, thunder and fire) and Iemanjá ( queen of salty waters)
[Sacred verses in some african language, I can't translate]
      "Zambi, rô, Zambi
      Zambi na qua tê sá
      Baquice, baquice, batabaquice de Orixá
      Kylê ibai, toté de maiungá
Xê cumarô loxê kulundu loxê keto tá sôto

    Lyrics in English:
My father came from Aruanda and our mother is Iansã
My father came from Aruanda and our mother is Iansã
Oh, "gira", let the gira spin
Oh, spin, let the spinning spin
Oh, spin, let the spinning spin
    {Ps: "gira" means literally spin (imperative verb) or spinning (substantive), but it can be also a religious term, so it's like a pun}
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Let the spinning spin
    Saravá, Iansã!
    It's Xangô and Iemanjá, yeah
    Let the spinning spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
    Oh, spin, let it spin
Some words can't be translated because they are religious/cultural terms 😉 Some guys have made a very good job explainning them, please see the meaning in the commentaries below.
And of course this translated version will never be as poethic as the original one, so please, don't waste your time complaining 💜

    Translation
Meu pai veio de Aruanda e a nossa mãe é Iansã
My father comes from Aruanda/Heaven/Paradise, and our mother is Iansã (a title of the goddess Oyá, "mother of the evening")
Ô, gira, deixa a gira girar
Ô, Gira, let Gira "Spin" (here we have a "joke" in relation to the sound and that alludes to several aspects of the Afro-Brazilian cult, mainly Candomblé: "Ô, Gira" refers to Pomba Gira, corruption of the Bantu deity, Pambu "Njila", the Nkisi who acts as an intermediary between living/earthly beings and other gods/deities (Pomba Gira is also in Umbanda, but is a female spiritual entity who has already had an earthly life and who comes to advise and help those who are still incarnated), "Deixa a Gira", Gira here refers to the spiritual current/chain, the cult, that is happening at the present moment. "Girar" in Portuguese means "Spin", but in this sense it is a request for the deity or entity to help the cult to happen and for it to be answered.
    Deixa a gira girar
    Let the gira spins
    Saravá, Iansã
Hail, Iansã (Mother of the evening)
    É Xangô e Iemanjá, iê
It's Xangô/Sango (God of Justice) and Iemanjá/Yemaya/Yemoja (Goddess of Water, Mother of "all heads", normally associated with the sea in Brasil)
    Deixa a gira girar
    Let gira spins
    Zambi, rô, Zambi
    God, please (interjection/calling), God
    Zambi na qua tê sá
The "God" that is here (Nzambi/Zambi is the deity of creation)
    Baquice, baquice, batabaquice de Orixá
Drumming, drumbeat of the Orishas (the Orishas are invoked through their sacred sounds of drums)
    Kylê ibai, toté de maiungá
Greetings to the "house" (temple), rite of Maiungá (Maiunga/Maionga is a bath that is done for the purification of the person who is starting in the cult)
Xê cumarô loxê kulundu loxê keto tá sôto
I greet with respect, I praise the sacred
    Atotô, Oba, ê
"Silence", Lord/King, "so be it" (Atotô is greeting made for the deity Obaluae/Obaluaye -> "Oba" is a title that means Lord or King; "Olu", means Ruler; Aye means World, Earth, Life , the one who brings cure and healing, but also diseases. Also known in Brasil as Omolu)
***This part refers to a prayer (with approximate translation), it is done mainly in Kikongo. In Candomble (and also in Umbanda) there was influence firstly from the beliefs of the Bantu people, only later there were syncretisms with Yoruba and Fon beliefs

When i hear this song i close my eyes and imagine that i'm in Spain in a small cafe hidden by the busy roads, it's a warm summer evening with a cool breeze and the sun is slowly going away to give his turn to the moon which will transform the cafe into a bar. There, will be people holding their drinks, calmly talking and later on slow dancing and laughing together while the night keeps on going with this song in the backround...how i wish
