Steve is an amazing artist. His and Al talents far surpass most everybody's model building. I am glad to see their legacy live on through others incorporating into there own layout or having operating dioramas. I know it must be hard for Steve to dismantle his layout but knowing that it will live on through others who appreciate there work and talent they put into it. I always like seeing Steve's layout. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and see you on Tuesday.👍🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Great idea, you know iv watched over the years you guys having ta move and how too do that and the fact that we all have ta move sooner or later . This inspired me to build my modules ( 9'x 18") around the yard layout gust in case we had ta move, Great ta think of my hard work not ending up in a land fill ... thanks for a great coffey this morning ...
Yup. We did that show. Well shows, Jim Harper, who is 90 and wants to sell his house and railroad. Intact. I doubt that will happen. Someone will buy the house, but it’s a real long shot. And what of one of the words best layouts??? Broken up? Sold in chunks? So far we only know if one layout that is living on intact. One. The rest are in dumpsters. So this is the only way. I guess. Even a tiny bit of the Gore and Defeated survives. About 10 structures. So this is the only way we know to save a layout.
Yep i get it so that is why i did my own modules, each will fit each so I can just have 2 end ciceles, 2 ends and big curve, all plus as many strights as you can get in, or sell in pieces for a starter set up...
Besides subscribe, like and comment like this. It is good to see such a marvelous layout get a new lease on life. The build great, the details greater, the new lease on life, priceless! Thx again
Need to get back out there. I hear it’s RUNNING. And Steve had built a base for a four shelf changeable department 56 layout. Christmas. Halloween. Summer. And something else? Anyway slide one layout out and replace the top one. Need to see that!
I had the opportunity ro meet Howard Zane several years ago. He gave a presentation on scratch building. A legend. Steve scatch building probably at the same level
The thing, I find, about Steve's models is not just that they are not just highly detailed, but the the details he includes are many times un-expected, like the exposed pipeline in that scene near the power station. The hours and hours spent building his stuff requires a real dedication and motivation most never attain, let alone the eye for REALISM in a model. Then he gives his work to be displayed for us all to enjoy. That is truly a rare person. Great video, and some tongue in cheek humor too. ;-)
It really warms my heart to see part of Steve's layout finding new purpose they're at the Train Shop. Of course it warms my heart to see Steve in these videos! I sure miss the days that I worked with him
Thanks so much for that you two😻 I feel like the new home for the layout is almost magical. Can't help but think Al is smiling ear to celestial ear knowing how many folks will get to see at least a portion of the original. Stay Well!
My health precludes my traveling, but I would love to visit that Hobby Store and drop a few Tokens to experience the Harbor layout. Beautiful video, thank you.
The detail! That's the way I like to paint. It makes the eyes exercise hopefully, and fun to look at. It might be a pattern or a face in the pattern, or just points of color. The details are what I always return to.
Always great to see Steve's works. Not only the details are outstanding, but the water is so realistic. I did a river myself with just varnish for a so-so result, but Steve's painting make it even more realistic than several inch of resin!
That is so neat! It's wonderful that this harbor was saved and can live on so other people can enjoy it. Having grown up on Puget Sound and around the docks, some of them from before the 20th century, Steve's work was spot on from what I could see. All I can say is "Wow! And thank you for bringing us along for the ride."
gave me ideas and just making the fictitious railroad I always had a hard time with that idea but after seeing this video and seeing many others it just seems simple
Dale: the purveyor of 'puns' prevails. Or, you could also describe it as a provocateur of B.S. You be the judge. Where in the world would we be without it? At the very least, it must register at the very top of the scale with Steve and Don.
@@ToyManTelevision Have you realized the impact of world affairs on our hobby. All Baltic Birch comes from one country. Most Z scale because it comes from one country. Time to change the paradigm.
There's not one bit of that BAY window ;-) layout that's not neat and interesting. And it's great it gets to live on as a working layout. Loving the bascule bridge too. There is one on the way to my old job that I'd love to model, but first I have to get a roundtuit!
Only thin on the layout that’s a kit. Ho scale. Walthers I think. Everything else is scratch. It sure adds a great feature while forming the loop. And without blocking the view of the pier.
So great to see that Steve is still active in the hobby.
awesome video
Thanks Brian
I remember that sad time he decided to give it all up...glad he is still plugging away and bringing others joy in his handiwork.

Nice Blazing Saddles reference
Love that (banned) movie.

Thanks again!!! And you are right on the comments. Helps a lot!
It's sooooooo nice to see it has a new life!!
So talented! Steve is an inspiration to the hobby. I thought the mine scene was spectacular, too. Steve can do it all. 👍😁
Need to get back out there. I hear it’s RUNNING. And Steve had built a base for a four shelf changeable department 56 layout. Christmas. Halloween. Summer. And something else? Anyway slide one layout out and replace the top one. Need to see that!
Narrow gauge is always so well modeled. The weathering is master class
And everything other than the bridge scratch built.
Great video, Dale! Glad to see Steve again continuing his art! Al the best!
Incredible detail! I also like the reference to Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles. I can just see him "work, work, work"!

And a fun whimsical attitude. Simi real almost Disneyland look and feel. Without ever looking or seeming fake. Just appealing.
That is a very impressive shop layout.
Magnificent!!
Thanks!!!

And the great days on the MRS layout. Steve, Al, Don, Van, Every Sunday. Lunch at the deli. Classic music and building a great layout.
Its awesome he found places to let his layout live on. Thank you for sharing his amazing skills.
Miss the big layout. And the good times. But time passes. And now chapter 2.
Very cool 😎 guys, love it that Steve preserved his harbor scene in a tiny layout for all to see. Great you reported this!!
Really good!
Beautiful!! WOW, fantastic. Genius. Thanks
Outstanding, Thank you for sharing. Beautiful craftsmanship to inspire the next generation of model railroaders.
Thanks so much for that you two😻 I feel like the new home for the layout is almost magical. Can't help but think Al is smiling ear to celestial ear knowing how many folks will get to see at least a portion of the original. Stay Well!
Thanks. Al approves.
@@ToyManTelevision That makes me feel better than I have a right to 😻 Thank you both! God bless ✌️ and "see you" on Sunday!
Another wonderful start to my Sunday. Toy man then church then the honeydo list. But Sunday morning starts with Toy Man Television
Thanks again!!!! More on the way.
My health precludes my traveling, but I would love to visit that Hobby Store and drop a few Tokens to experience the Harbor layout. Beautiful video, thank you.
We will show it once it’s working
@@ToyManTelevision that would be wonderful, it's so much fun to see things come alive with movement.

the trauma of pulling down a layout is unmentionable, so it great that a part of Steve's layout can live on...

@@ToyManTelevision you are welcome, you have added another place to see when we get down that way.
that's an awesome layout :-)
Great video, guys!
Thanks!!!
Just the craftsmanship. The buildings and everything is so neat. Dale liked how you were in a punny mood to today. Cornet but so good.
gave me ideas and just making the fictitious railroad I always had a hard time with that idea but after seeing this video and seeing many others it just seems simple
Good good good guy's
Good morning!!! Thanks again
Nice !
Thanks
Looks like John Allen’s G&D,nice Vertical scenery.
I still miss Al as I'm sure you guys do.
brilliant and you have lost some weight sir.. .good

Hi. Trying to get caught up on comments. Hi! Yup puns. Like buns but not as round. But round.. hum..
It reminds me of the guy in the novel cannery row. He keeps rearranging and never finishes his boat because he's afraid of the water.
I love that book. And movie. Different yet the same. I had to visit cannery row in Monterey just because of that story!!!!
Just think. Who maybe inspired by seeing Steve’s layout.
Yup. Us fer two.

When a friend of mine got his divorce he took a chainsaw and cut it all apart. A sad time for him 😢and me too.
