navigator gives you and teamates wovem mail if you shoot them, and gives you ammo back giving them wovenmail, it also severs things if you lay on them for around the same time as teammates to give a tangle on kill, or use facet of solitude to create tangles with rapid prescision hits making a severing burst
Was wondering why my 50 mobility version of this build seemed to get my class ability back so quickly speed into dicplince for using Grapple which also procs gamble so basically all abilities give it and you have the most mobility options a hunter can have, but yeah makes sense now😂
Friendly note that gunpowder gamble DOES NOT go on cooldown if you throw it within about a second of getting it, meaning that if it gets enough kills you get it back and can chain this until you either run out of enemies, or you screw up the timing

Got caliban cyrtarachne as my second class item a few weeks ago and was like “guess I’m done farming these” can confirm that this setup with gunpowder gamble is awesome. Nice to have an extremely powerful ranged setup
You should probably try Caliban Spike with Tether. You can do really nuts things with how Tether is coded. Any Tether kill or damage actually count towards the damage type that triggers the damage share rather then it being all light. SOOOOO if you kill something with Spike while it's tethered you will get a bunch of darkness energy fallowed by a bunch of light energy. Once you have Transcendent you just toss spikes every where and watch while everything around the mini bosses and bosses starts to explode. Throw on triple heavy handed and a shoot to loot weapon and you can get Tether back super fast. Lastly Stylish specter is really good for high-end content to help if your friends get clapped and need a revive. You can invis revive then drop a clone to take aggro while they reposition.
Finally, somebody else notices how amazing Syntho Dart/Facet of Blessing is! I was also pretty meh about Ascension until I realize that it turns your class ability into an offensive ability as an option, as well as being the only true-neutral Amplified (which hopefully eventually gets buffs) cast in game.
If Amplified gets a buff, that's the only reason I'd see running Ascension. Amplified just feels so meh when we don't have Galvanic on the artifact, and I'm not a big fan of the jolting it does. I'm using a alteration of this with GPG and Threaded Specter since TS makes your dodge into a defensive or offensive option depending what you do with it.
I've been using Caliban/Cyrt for a while and love how it feels, but you definitely need to prime enemies more before throwing your melee in higher level content. Synthos obviously has less DR but it makes using the melee a breeze.
If any other madmen like me are also addicted to grapple grenade, know that grapple melee is INDEED buffed by synthoceps! It's also buffed by Verity! .... unfortunately, you get SO MANY GUNPOWDER GAMBLES that you'll find yourself accidentally throwing them all the time instead of grappling. (Though, yes, you can grapple to a thrown dynamite....)
grapple is NOT budged by verity or synthos. extensive testing has already been done by thousands of players and compiled onto docs. stop spreading misinformation like a tick khakis look alike.
i came up with something similar for my caliban-verity roll i opted for grapple for more mobility and option to escape in care i am getting a bit surrounded, and got myself a strand weapon (in my case it was Vengeful Whisper because I am a bow nerd) Same as Threaded spike, you can take Threaded blast in the artefact, and blowing up that orb charges your GPG instantly as well (as long as it is not on its internal cd) Super is the most flexible part for me here, I don't like goldy, so I opt for tether or S&S depending on where i value weaken or frost armor more for general every day play in all the activities I would pick up that new solar sidearm and Whisper in heavy for boss dmg and antibarrier, as well as more ignitions or you could go Void + Strand weapons route for that fragment that gives you Unraveling and Volotile on melee and grenade kills
Got a Caliban/Coyote roll and just tried it with this (Stylish instead of ascension). Feels sooo good, and you don’t need to worry with Monte Carlo between catching the spike and having two dodge charges.
If you have this roll, definately use graple grenade, not only is it the mist fun ability it synergises with synthos so well and grapple ascension combo is really cool.
And I do believe this would be compatible with the shadowshot grapple punch build. Since the core of this build is threaded spike + spirit of caliban, it can fit perfectly into that grapple build with grapple grenade and stylish executioner as its core. The only thing is that you would want to switch exotic from caliban+syntho to somthing like inmost+syntho or galanor+syntho before grappling into punching.
I’ve been rocking something kind of similar with Caliban / Coyote to get my melees back instantly. You throw a melee to get ignitions to get a gamble, dodge and throw the bomb. melee again to get another gamble once you’re at the end of the cooldown of it. Throw the bomb.. repeat. You blow up a whole room. I hadn’t considered using ascension but I like using the freeze dodge to be able to deal with all champions regardless of weapons. It’s insanely versatile. You can pretty much rock the call with whatever else. It’s really kind of sad because I’m a Titan main.. but Hunters and Warlocks just blow them away, literally.
This couldn't have come at a better time I'm a warlock main but recently did the dual destiny on my hunter for the first time and got the class item with spirit of Caliban and synthoceps together going to try this after work.
I'm actually using the caliber cyrtarachne and I run silence and squal as the super so I get frost armor because I use the facet of mending for easy heals
With this build, you can also forgo Ascension and choose Stylish Executioner instead. Then, with an exotic class item with Caliban + Gyrfalcon, you have Solar Ignitions *and* Void Volatile explosions. It forces you to use a Void weapon in your energy slot but with weapons in the game like Choir of One, Buried Bloodline, Graviton Lance, or legendary options like Word of Crota and Funnelweb, having to use Void isn't a bad thing, and I think it results in a build that's got a really great mixture of weapon and ability damage.

I'd also maybe shoutout Calibans with either Spirit of Star Eaters or Coyote too. They don't have synergy amongst each other but overall not bad to have imo. Coyote for the double ascension or have one to use as a normal dodge for mods like Reaper. Star Eaters if you want to go more for the neutral game. Since you're opting for a damage Super here it would pair nicely. I honestly still don't have an idea of what my favorite class combo and build has been this season. I need more loadout slots lol.

Thank you for this build. I finally got a class item that has caliban after 20 runs. So im just running caliban + star eater class item with silence and squall until they add class items to overthrow on tuesday
if you dont want facet of hope you could always swap for facet of balance. with the amount of light damage kills coming from gamble it should make getting the dart back a decent bit quicker, and vice versa for the normal grenade
you can switch out Blessing for Mending now that Gunpowder Gamble will properly give you Cure on kill if you have Mending equipped. I prefer Mending cause I like instant health over normal health regen.

Dual destiny still needs farming A non class item build I’m using is radiant dance machine, with winter shrouds, needle, and gunpowder gamble is my ‘fun’ build haven’t tried it in any competitive combat. Everything freezes making the arcane needle stronk and gunpowder gamble is up as much as possible.
omggg, ive been running a setup like this (not calling it an actual build due to how unoptimized mine was hahahaha) because I'm kinda burned out already of the melee playstyle for hunter since arc 3.0 and i love this build! I have Assassin and Synthoceps. That combo allows me to switch out Stylish Execution with Threaded Specter and in turn using the Combo Blow melee, not only I can dodge and turn invis, but can generate a LOT of Stasis Dummies which then explodes and generates a Threadling Army for hunters!
is it a known bug for ascension to not pickup orbs with powerful attraction like ensnaring slam used to? because thats my main gripe with this build and its nothing to do with the build itself lol. unless im just dumb then please let me know
A thing that had been proven by someone on YT but there’s a bug where Amplified doesn’t speed up the regeneration of your class abilities. Idk if it’s been fixed but it’s something to note
man i have the exotic combo you wanted to show in the video (cali+cyrta), its THE BEST, my best experience playing hunter, i preffer grapple nade instead because grapple procs calibans too ;D, and graple ascension movement, AND GUNPOWER GAMBLE THROW + GRAPLE AND LANDING WITH STYLE LIKE A POWER RANGER, MAN YOU KINDA STEALED MY VIDEO BY MINUTES I SWEAR TO GOD XD
IMO it's a PVP exotic now, but it's a pretty good one. Lots of random arc and stasis weapons get a ttk shift from x4 surge, notably PI Sightline Survey.
12:25 i recently did a build with that combination but instead of ascension i use stylish, both the woven mail and radiant of the artifact and the aspect will take complete advantage of shielcrush
And my biggest complaint about the current sandbox is we can't use the class items with the normal light and dark subclasses Just imagine the build crafting you could do if you could step outside of Prismatic

I have a similar build with hoil syntho with threaded spectre stylish, the spectre negate incoming damage, spike opens the opportunity to invis before going in for the big damage syntho buffed grpple melee and decoy away to go to cover safely
It does, and it's not a bug :) grapple is a melle and grenade in one time. There is warlock build with original Verity on Strand, grapple and Navigator for boss damage like a titan. Less damage, but fun. And original Verity give ally grenade energy, so it's can use in some crazy damage rotation :)
Yup. For any wondering: Ascension itself doesn't count as using your class ability as it *replaces* your class ability for it's Ascension ability. So Reaper for example won't proc.
@@nitro5202 makes way more sense to use calibans if you want to remake this build without a class item, as that is what it revolves around. however i honestly would just play lucky pants or omni or gyrfalcs or celestial or orpheus instead if i didnt have class items
@Joe-ew9tn normal calibans wont work without explosive knife and reason i say gifted you already have ascension this just gives you more damage reduction on jolted enemies and allows you to jolt a few more of them plus the jolts will count as debuffs for gunpowder plus right its nice since it will stack with galvonic armor
I'm scratching my head at his statement of Synthoceps.... Maybe its because I'm a crayon eating Titan main but you don't the Syntho buff unless you're at close range to at least 3 enemies... This does not synergize with the throwing dart as you want to fling that thing at range to clip as many baddies as possible with it. Like am I missing something?

In GMs I would advise swapping it for Outbreak, it's a solid replacement!

amplified fully stops facet of hope from working btw. so after using the air move for 15 seconds its impossible to get hope to actually proc

IMO it's a PVP exotic now, but it's a pretty good one. Lots of random arc and stasis weapons get a ttk shift from x4 surge, notably PI Sightline Survey.
12:25 i recently did a build with that combination but instead of ascension i use stylish, both the woven mail and radiant of the artifact and the aspect will take complete advantage of shielcrush

I like using my scyntho/SoIL class exotic with witherblade and grapple set up over this but this is a fun build.
I have caliban coyote and caliban gryfalcons which one would work better
I have a similar build with hoil syntho with threaded spectre stylish, the spectre negate incoming damage, spike opens the opportunity to invis before going in for the big damage syntho buffed grpple melee and decoy away to go to cover safely

It does, and it's not a bug :) grapple is a melle and grenade in one time.
There is warlock build with original Verity on Strand, grapple and Navigator for boss damage like a titan. Less damage, but fun. And original Verity give ally grenade energy, so it's can use in some crazy damage rotation :)
Utility kickstart works with ascension
Yup. For any wondering: Ascension itself doesn't count as using your class ability as it *replaces* your class ability for it's Ascension ability. So Reaper for example won't proc.
I would slot in arc bolt grenade to get the amplify buff instead of ascension tbh.

Do you need to stand next to an enemy if you want Threaded Spike to be buffed by Synthoceps? That would be very impractical in GMs.
Yes you do, but you can be close enough so that it isn't dangerous

You can close enough so that it isn't risky while still getting the buff, plus, it lingers for 5 seconds

I have 40 out of the 64 total rolls and 6 out of 8 caliban rolls and the 2 im missing are ofc caliban + synto or liars 😭😭

I dont think it would feel as good but this build might work alright with the new hunter chest that works with ascension
@@nitro5202 makes way more sense to use calibans if you want to remake this build without a class item, as that is what it revolves around. however i honestly would just play lucky pants or omni or gyrfalcs or celestial or orpheus instead if i didnt have class items
@Joe-ew9tn normal calibans wont work without explosive knife and reason i say gifted you already have ascension this just gives you more damage reduction on jolted enemies and allows you to jolt a few more of them plus the jolts will count as debuffs for gunpowder plus right its nice since it will stack with galvonic armor

Bro I haven't touched combination blow lmao, I don't even have a build for it. I have just been using my lucky pants build the entire time lel.
I'm scratching my head at his statement of Synthoceps.... Maybe its because I'm a crayon eating Titan main but you don't the Syntho buff unless you're at close range to at least 3 enemies... This does not synergize with the throwing dart as you want to fling that thing at range to clip as many baddies as possible with it. Like am I missing something?
You can get close enough to enemies to the point where you're still safe and get the buff, plus it lingers for 5 seconds.
