- "TANGING YAMAN OVERTURE"
A medley of different songs by Fr. Manoling Francisco, arranged by Agripino “Nonoy” V. Diestro. The Overture was made for the concert Tanging Yaman, Himig at Pananalig in 1993. Songs include Sa Iyo Lamang, Hindi Kita Malilimutan, Kordero ng Diyos, Panalangin sa Pagiging Bukas Palad, Stella Maris, and Tanging Yaman.
Performed last April 11, 2019 for "Faith, Hope & Devotion: Lenten Reflections in Music."

Damang-dama ko ung Filipino spirit nung napakinggan ko toh, talagang malalaman mo kung gawang Pilipino ang isang musika kahit hindi sinasabi ng iba.

Its beautifully and dramatically arranged for orchestra, It sounds like a brass orchestra although it is a classical orchestra, I love the drama of the brass sound that boosted the delivery of every chords, and that gorgeous lovely melody, I think that the arranger of this orchestra loves drama, also, for me, I felt tears of joy when's I listened to this music.

When i listen to this, the conductor was probably, strongly inspired by Joe Hisaishi, a famous Japanese conductor of musical scoring of many Japanese Anime. The sound is very similar. This music is now part of my songs of prayers for meditation. 👍👏

This Overture was originally performed by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra with the same Conductor at the Meralco Theater in 1993.
The conductor in 1993 was the arranger, Nonoy Diestro.
