Hooper Dunbar has lived a life devoted to teaching the Faith and enriching the Bahá’í community. He has written two books on spiritual matters and has given countless talks over the years. These talks are on a variety of subjects such as spirituality, education, and life after death.
He was born in Los Angeles, California, where he pursued a career in acting, both on stage and on screen. He eventually left Hollywood for Central and South America where he taught English and art, but most importantly he went to teach the Faith.
He became one of the founding members of the National Spiritual Assembly of Nicaragua in 1961 and served there for two years. He became an Auxiliary Board member for the Americas which he served for 5 years, after which he became a Counselor from 1968 to 1973. He then moved to Israel where he became a founding member of the International Teaching Committee which he served for 15 years. Finally, he was elected a Universal House of Justice member in 1988, a position he had until his retirement in 2010.
Alongside his intense and devoted spiritual life, he lived a life rich in the arts. His works are abstract pieces that represent many of the spiritual topics that he discusses. He has been exhibited in galleries across the world in places such as New York, London, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Verona.

Truly beautiful. One sentence that especially impacted me was remembering, and establishing "When God rules in you."

“God” / Spirit / Creator is one unified, undefinable entity. An unknowable essence. All the different names we give It are irrelevant.

@@JamshidRowshan Perhaps you should consider that people see God in different ways and attribute different attributes to Him, and yet, God is unknowable in His essence. Whatever we call God, it is insufficient to describe Him. All these names people have called God are due to the limitations of our languages and our own conceptions of our Creator, an unknowable Essence we can never comprehend. It doesn't matter what God is called or thought of by various religions and cultures. God is still One and Unconditioned, and "there is none other God but Thee."
