Bahá’í Talks - 33 - Immortality of the Human Soul Part 5 of 15
#Bahá’íFaith #religion #loveofGod #love #God #spirituality #spirituallife
Hooper Dunbar has lived a life devoted to teaching the Faith and enriching the Bahá’í community. He has written two books on spiritual matters and has given countless talks over the years. These talks are on a variety of subjects such as spirituality, education, and life after death.
He was born in Los Angeles, California, where he pursued a career in acting, both on stage and on screen. He eventually left Hollywood for Central and South America where he taught English and art, but most importantly he went to teach the Faith.
He became one of the founding members of the National Spiritual Assembly of Nicaragua in 1961 and served there for two years. He became an Auxiliary Board member for the Americas which he served for 5 years, after which he became a Counselor from 1968 to 1973. He then moved to Israel where he became a founding member of the International Teaching Committee which he served for 15 years. Finally, he was elected a Universal House of Justice member in 1988, a position he had until his retirement in 2010.
Alongside his intense and devoted spiritual life, he lived a life rich in the arts. His works are abstract pieces that represent many of the spiritual topics that he discusses. He has been exhibited in galleries across the world in places such as New York, London, Sydney, Hong Kong, and Verona.

In the dance of ego and divine light, Lies a choice of surrender, pure and bright. Release the grip of shame and fear, Let the heart's true essence draw near. Creator, take my will, my strife, Guide me to live a divinely inspired life. In each soul, see a spark divine, In unity and love, let our spirits entwine. Let go of hatred, anger, and greed, Embrace the truth of our shared seed. In the mirror of each human face, Reflect the beauty of divine grace. Surrender to the power above, Embrace the oneness, the boundless love. In every moment, in every breath, Find the divine within, conquer death. So let us walk this path of light, Shine with love, banish the night. In surrender to the One we seek, Find the strength to be truly meek. Embrace the divinity within, Let the journey of the soul begin. In surrender, in love, in unity, Embody the truth of our shared divinity. In the depths of the human soul, a struggle unfolds, A journey from separation to remembrance of old, Seeking the innocence within, a path to find, Embracing humility, leaving pride behind. Yearning to surrender, to let go and release, The need to control, and find a sense of peace, A willingness to see beyond what the eyes can view, To trust in a higher power, pure and true. From the quest for control, to a grace-filled embrace, A shift in perception, a newfound space, Forgiveness blooms, like a gentle, healing balm, Understanding the innocence, bringing inner calm. Amid the trials and tribulations that we face, Kindness towards all, in every time and place, A journey of compassion, from self to others too, A remembrance of divinity, shining bright and true. Through the wisdom of consciousness, we come to see, The beauty of the soul, longing to be free, In the sacred dance of life, we find our way, From separation to remembrance, day by day. So let us honor the innocence within each heart, Embracing the struggle, playing our part, For in this journey of love and grace, We find our divinity, in every embracing space.

During breakfast my young compadre (master 14) thought your voice should be the philosophia Alexa, but it should come with multiple language translations too 😁. Children are very creative and responsive thinkers when we can share their opinions in this way. Thank you for the reading of your ministry. It might be the humdrum of insects filling in the background sound, but to me it captured something like, what a bayou landscape offers myself, and others before and after me... a seat to imagine looking over creation happening all around.

... She (Eleanor Roosevelt) saw this as real political work rather than a mere intellectual exercise. “Many of us thought that lack of standards for human rights the world over was one of the greatest causes of friction among the nations,” she told readers of Foreign Affairs, “and that recognition of human rights might become one of the cornerstones on which peace could eventually be based.” I see the declaration of human rights to be a document that can be used to unite behind regardless of religion and country. We should take it much more seriously and enforce its laws. Laws don't work if we lack the will to have consequences for those who violate it.

Whatever we call God, it is insufficient to describe Him. All these names people have called God are due to the limitations of our languages and our own conceptions of our Creator, an unknowable Essence we can never comprehend. It doesn't matter what God is called or thought of by various religions and cultures. God is still One and Unconditioned, and "there is none other God but Thee."

I’ve been a Baha’i for 24 years. It hurts me when people gloss over racism. As I’m sure my comment will be. I’ve been kicked out of many Baha’i groups on Facebook when I disagree. Reverse racism You can't have reverse racism unless you have a forward racism You call yourself brown. They call us black and all black people can do is react to racism. Racism is a POWER concept point one and two it's also a group concept. To be a racist you have to belong to the group that has the power and the wealth. It's also capitalism, because you own the land, the tools and the resources and use other races to enrich yourselves. Africa is the richest continent. Social integration has failed in this country. It's the worst thing that has ever happened to black people. Black people went back with social integration. Look at all the other races, they all had good sense and has kept their culture. Whites have stolen everything we have come up with. Open your eyes people, and leave those bloodsuckers alone. They took our civil rights and placed it on minority women and immigrants and we allowed them to do it. We never got it back. Black people jumping in the side of these people and none of them are helping us. If anything, they are in our communities feeding off of us as well. Out so called black leaders has also focused on minority women and any people of color except blacks. Now they are on the gay and transgender crap. You people have fallen right behind them. They all pretend that we don't exist except when there is crime or welfare to blame in us when its immigrants and other people of taking it all. The constitution was never colorblind. The constitution was very specific about black people being slaves. The American dream was based on anybody coming from Europe. They were advertising "come to America and get your free land and labor" black people were not in the system, we were underneath the system. That's why MLK was coming to Washington to get our check when they killed him. Please watch this TH-cam video. It only takes a second. What have the Baha’is done? Not a thing!!! th-cam.com/video/fHztmokH0lo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oaQmdIdciyn7kQRS

2:20 Mit Gopaul, Racism cannot and should not be legislated by the State through laws against "hate speech" by censoring standalone words without context. That is a horrible step toward "deification of the State". When that is done that only exacerbates racial divides and hostilities. When a negative stereotype is a real threat that real threat deserves to be exposed and condemned. Landmark Case in the United States constitutional law for the 1st amendment: New York Times v. Sullivan (1964) "The Supreme Court, in an opinion written by Justice William Brennan, reviewed the matter “against the background of a profound national commitment to the principle that debate on public issues should be uninhibited, robust, and wide-open, and that it may well include vehement, caustic, and sometimes unpleasantly sharp attacks on government and public officials.”

All the people in the spiritual assemblies seem to be mindreading using technology. It clearly breaks the commandments of Baha'u'llah, who prohibited the confession of sins to preserve human dignity. We can safely state that spying on people's minds and their sins is condemned by Baha'u'llah. The assemblies prohibit secret ballot elections! Isn't this covenant- breaking?
