    Cherie, you are beautiful in such a way that you seem to glow with beauty from inside out. What you’re feeling doesn’t show though I understand. Thank you for showing up in a real way and thank you as always for your unique, fabulous content.

    Brilliant!!! It's fun making candles.... I have been making them for more than 20 years now, on and off. They enrich my home, are wonderful gifts, and you can use/repurpose so many jars, molds, etc.... there is no end to your creativity and imagination. Good luck😊

    Enjoying your videos from Wellington. I had my adult braces off after 12 months so it is possible! Greatest day.

    Candle making sounds like fun.
    Wow Cherie u have some absolutely massive pans. Yes 😂 that makes sense not to break the thermometers. We didn't do many if any experiments with Chemistry at school.
    That wax would be set immediately here. Soo cold atm.
    Some very efficient tidying. I thought it didn't look that bad at all 🙊.
    Aw poor Poppy 🤣.
    The packing is very cool and a cute little bottle. It does sound nice. The black tea sounds lovely in it.
    Glad to hear your mum is doing better. Yes it must have been lovely going home too. Good news with the braces so far. Ah you never know Cherie you could be asking them to leave them in 🤣.
    Ah them nose burning ambroxany type notes yay 😂.
    Great video Cherie 😊

    As long as you clean them writh hot water and soap, then it doesn't matter if you juse them over and over again.
    You can lay a knife or long spoon over each candel too hold the wic straight in the middle so the candel burns in the middle.
    Big hugs from Denmark.

    Very enjoyable video Cherie. Firstly, I am glad your Mum is OK. I am also guilty of spending way too much on candles, but not just candles, my spending is a bit out of control and I need to rein it in as I only work two days a week now. I feel for you with your braces, I have never had them but am going through the process of dental implants which is bad enough and expensive. I bought a bottle of Chanel No 22 last week and a bottle of Frassai Rosa Sacra hence the reason I need to rein in my spending 🤦‍♀️

    I've never made candles from scratch, but I have melted waste wax and made candles out of that using a wick kit and old jars. You can get these little metal things to hold your wicks in place (they came in my wick kit)

    • @TheTopNote
      @TheTopNote  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah I didn’t really want to make the commitment to buying those until I knew this was going to be more than just a one time thing. They didn’t come in my kit :)

    Thank you for making this video! I watched it getting ready for work. I have been unwell, heavy cold for about nine days now, and watching this made me happy and took my mind off my woes…
    Also I remember trying Tuberose Astrale at Mecca a few months ago and kind of recoiling instantly. I think it’s the least successful in that extrait line for sure…

    Ooh I just started making my own candles for exactly the same reason as you (to avoid spending lots of money on expensive scented candles). But I went straight into buying individual essential oils and aroma chemicals to blend my own fragrance, which are actually quite expensive so I don't think that so far this new hobby has saved me any money. If anything it's the opposite since I got a bit carried away and ordered lots of different aroma chemicals! But it's been fun.

      I’ve don’t a similar thing but it’s still a lot cheaper than perfume and luxury brand candles! I haven’t gone crazy though, I sat down and really thought about what 2-3 scent profiles I wanted to focus on and limited my fragrance oil purchases to those, which I think helped. It’s lovely to make something though and yes it’s super fun! Xx

    Good girl, Cherie. I like your thinking.Frugal is as frugal does. Years ago I made my own incense and remember getting all the exotic frankincense, orris root and myrrh sent to me."Fluffy and amber" dont seem to go together in the same sentence for me.Interesting!!xx

      @TheTopNote  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AnnieDaddo haha thanks Annie, it was really fun. I’ve made more since. I find quite a few ambers to be a little fluffy - like cotton balls dipped in spices and resin, and then rolled in animal fur. 😂

    I actually just got into making my own soaps so that's been a journey too. 😬🧼 Rewarding nonetheless because I'm finally getting to use the mountains of essential oils and raw materials I've been hoarding for years. 😆 Plus my used coffee grounds work quite well as a grit so there's some satisfaction in recycling as well. Appreciate you sharing Cherie. I'm sure you'll feel like a completely new person once the metal comes off. 🥰
