It was very hot here in Pennsylvania last week and I had to water the garden every day, which takes a lot of time - time I could be sewing! Then last night and today we had intense rain so I'll get a break from watering - makes the weeds grow, though! I camped overnight once with Girl Scouts a loooong time ago and vowed never to do it again so I admire you for being a good sport and getting out there with your family. Better to take things to keep warm "just in case," as there's not much worse than being cold and not being able to do anything about it. The blue bamboo dress is beautiful on you - would a woven bias tape edge stabilize it and keep it from stretching at the neckline, I wonder? Or make the neckline into a little casing and run a ribbon through it with an opening to tie a small bow and make it look like it was meant to be that way, so it gathers the fabric at the neckline?
Windex kills flies too! Love your channel, still waiting for my sewing machine like yours, can't wait. Excited to hear about your camping trip. I'm still waiting for grandchildren. Lol
I have seen some people make a mini V neck , just a quick sewing tuck on the band ,in the center, that is a commercial way you will find in some RTW. I also did a bigger V, by copying the Agnes tee, and just stretching a 4 in piece of slim light weight elastic down the front, which makes a type of sweetheart neck , another way to 'soak up' extra fabric. I have done that with great success. You look sophistacated and sleek in your turquoise version!
I would recommend taking a sheet and a sleeping bag. It sounds like it will be cold. Maybe one of the grands will need an upgrade and you can give them the sleeping bags. I made a “bag” out of a sheet to fit in my sleeping bag.
Great dress, Stephanie! I would love to see how you use your serger. Could you do a sew-along using the serger? Have a great camping trip! It sounds wonderful! I love your channel!❤
If I'm trying to save fabric, I cut my pockets out of remnants from other projects. They don't have to match (don't even need to match each other) they only have to not show through
Love that color and style. I have not used bamboo bit I should. It is so hot and humid here. Just got back from our camping trip. Sleeping on the air mattress not so bad. The rain storm was not so fun. 😮 The family time was the best. Have so much fun.
I really like the interlock knit POP (mostly kids prints though ) ☹fabric from Joann. It is 98% cotton and 2% spandex. It has a nice medium weight to it, stretches moderately (neckbands come out great), and washes beautifully.
I always enjoy your talks. It cheers me up. I just sewed some PJ pants for me with the Joann’s cotton spandex. Very comfy. The fabric Has tiny s’mores all over it 😅
We used to tent camp when our kids were young and we slept on an air mattress. I didn't mind sleeping in the tent but as I got older I hated having to trek to the bathroom in the night. On our last trip after our kids were grown, our tent leaked and I told hubby that I never want to do that again. We gave all our camping gear to our sons. It is hot and humid here in Alabama; we have a heat advisory for today.
What a lovely dress, style and color. Sure hope you enjoy your camping trip. I have slept in a tent once when my boys were young and hated it. Haven't been camping since.😂
Hi love love love your weekly TH-cam.... love your sewing suggestion and trying to follow you but you are too fast in sewing project for me. Of course that's because I do sewing and knitting for my kids beside still working part time.... Anyway, I have a little suggestion if you want and can. Do you think that your last podcast of the month you could do a quick recap of the pattern suggestion that you did during the month? I know I could go back and look at your podcast again..... I write the pattern down and either lose the paper or can't remember what they are have to go back and look at your podcast again..... I know I am lazy, but it's just a suggestion.... thank you, love you! have a nice camping trip!
Soap and water is great for getting tight rings off your fingers, I do it all the time. I know what you mean about having your life on hold until after your family camping. Our granddaughter is getting married on the 6th July and we expect our lives to get back on track by the 7th.😮. Happy sewing 🧵🪡🇦🇺
Hi Sibyll, oh my gosh! It took forever to upload. I never know why it does that sometimes. I guess better late than never. Thanks for watching. Hugs ❤️❤️❤️

Enjoy your camping trip. We did that lots when the kids were small, now they are spread all over the states and doing there own camping. Have fun

Surge Fabric Shop has a lot of great summery knits and jerseys. Your dress looks great for this crazy hot weather.
Hi Stephanie, it's Zelda! It's great to see you, and I have not forgotten about freeing my arms.😅😅😅

Cotton double gauze is a wonderful summertime fabric. Just be sure to prewash and dry your fabric. Mood Fabrics has lots and lots of colors.

You can’t take a trip to the store and get a dress as fast! I have bought bamboo fabric from Harts and love it. Sounds like great family time.

P.S. I did the yoga band like in your tutorial. Do thanks for that ❤
The dress and the blue color looks fantastic on you. Have a great time with your family!
I am in Austin and it is horrible with heat and humidity. I am dying and am from Idaho where it is drier.
Congratulations on 20K!
Thank you Pamela! ❤️❤️❤️

Where/ from whom do you buy bra strap elastic? Realized I can just change my straps to ones made of elastic
