Watching moving art is better than watching regular movies.
Eye opening construction methods and some unexpected, I think it's a shame with this kayak in particular the woodwork and framework is hidden away. Maybe transparent fibreglass is needed? great video.
I agree with you, but I bet it had to do with the UV resistance of the epoxy….I bet the color had to do with stabilizing it….but not 100% sure.

The long pieces are western red cedar, The ribs are white oak, and some of the other miscellaneous pieces are ash. I’ve got a whole video here on the channel that goes into a ton of detail about the framing members. I think it’s called choosing wood for skin on frame kayaks.
