- This video is part 3 of our 5 part series where we dine at our top 5 Magic Kingdom table service restaurants to see which is the BEST. The area that the Plaza Restaurant now inhabits was once a seating area for the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom. Located on Main Street USA and boosting some decent views of Cinderella's Castle, this restaurant specializes in classic American comfort food. The design is meant to resemble turn of the 20th Century Soda Shops with Art Nouveau décor.
Out of all the restaurants in this series, this is the restaurant we've covered the most on this channel. It may not be our front runner but it's quite easy to get a reservation here, the food rarely disappoints and the aesthetic feels uniquely Magic Kingdom. On this occasion, we went over Plaza Restaurant's entire menu, tried out their signature dishes and broke down how this restaurant compares to its magical competition.

Slaw is the law! I honestly have had worse loads here. I don't think the camera was able to capture the true density of this load. We'll try to show more home clean eating in the future 🙂. Thank you!

This used to be my go-to … back when they did a no-frills burger & steak fries. Was just a few $ more than quick-serve years ago. So happy to hear the fries are back. Chicken sandwich looks and sounds great. Love that room with the castle view. I’m going to give it another try!
Some items are definitely better than others but it's still such a charming spot and can't go wrong with milkshake :) Hope you enjoy!

This used to be our go to at MK! The last time we ate here it wasn’t great, but it looks like the menu has changed so we’ll have to give it a try.
We've definitely had hit or miss experiences here but our last two visits have been great. If you end up here again we hope your experience is as great as the one we had here 🙂.
Great video, I love this series I hope you do the other parks after. But can we talk about the fact that Sam has no nails on gasp😆. I've heard Tony's is better with their new menu so I'm excited too see what you both think.

The reference to finding either a bonus fry or onion ring at Burger King, depending on what you order, is truly a magical experience! Also, the zesty sauce there is probably my first experience with that kind of sauce.

Hi Sam & Jay 👋 ☺️! Thank you for sharing your lunch experience at The Plaza Restaurant. Your lunch choices are also my favorites. I have a question about the chicken sandwich 😋. It looked breaded. If so, what made the coating so dark? Initially, it looked burnt, but you did not mention that. Was it an added ingredient (BBQ sauce?) that offered that dark coating? For me, I'm familiar with more of a golden coating for a chicken sandwich. The mayo/slaw looked great on the sandwich. I'm going to try that. When I make a Cobb Salad, I use Boars Head brand for deli meats. For me, this has more of an authentic texture & taste that I look for. Perhaps this brand is not sold in the Florida area. THE DESSERT SHAKES!!! That Strawberry shake, mmm, mmm, good 😋!!! I enjoy your videos. Buon Appétit!! See you for the next one. 😊 ❤
To me, it wasn't burnt and had no particular flavor that was recognizable in hindsight. It was just cooked well done in my opinion. They used breadcrumbs over a standard batter for the fry which is why I think it had that darker color. They do have Boars Head around here but I don't think Disney wants to pay the price. These meats were not it and I agree with your choice of Deli meat for a Chef salad. The shakes were the stars here. Definitely worth it for the fries and shakes in a cool spot in our opinion. That Chefs Salad reminds me of the “garbage salad” my dad used to make, the way the meat and cheese are sliced.
Something tells me Dad's garbage salad would have tasted better hahaha
I’ll go to The Plaza for the desserts, but I’m coming by your place for Jay’s perfectly grilled chicken! I could never do that with the perfect grill marks. I bet Frank is taking in all that fresh grilled chicken scent from up above. Someone else already said this, but you two truly do look great with the color-coordinated clothes and sun glasses 😄.
Jay has been BBQing almost every night since we moved and it's been great, he's mastered the art. We miss Frank so much, every little thing reminds us of him. Thank you :)

Thank you! Oh my goodness that is awesome- thanks for representing us in the parks :) We hope you have the best time. Plaza is easy to walk by, it's a good casual spot some things definitely better than others but always great dessert.
The meats in the salad put me off too.. why so thick😂

Stop saying that word. Dying over here lol (OK watched the rest of the episode. That salad reminds me of the premade wrapped up salads you get at a gas station or 7-11. Very processed and very preserved precut meats. More salt water content than protein. It did not look good. I think you were generous on the 5. Good video as always :))
Oh man 😆, we've gotten comments both ways on that word. I wish we could selectively edit. Maybe we'll put up a warning before we say it in the future? I do think we were a bit kind to the salad. Although I'd say that everything outside the meat was solid. Definitely don't recommend getting anything with cold cuts at Disney. Thank you! We really appreciate it 🙂

Just had dinner there two weeks ago. The baked potato soup was so good. I also had the pot roast which was fantastic. Definitely will return to the plaza again especially since I actually didn't even order what I went in to try.
We had the baked potato soup when we did our seasonal menu video and we loved it. The pot roast stack is always good, I should have gotten that instead of the dang salad.
