This movie came out in 2008 if u were 26 when you commented which is 2024 makes, it makes you 11 at the time movie came, so think before commenting idiot
Really well shot sequence. No annoying shakey cam. Just the right amount of cuts to capture the little emotions here and there. Good good use of slow motion.
it has a game tie in (wanted: weapons of fate) that continues the story that James McAvoy reprising his role but the game centers more towards the comics, but it still picks up where this movie lefted off despite the inconsistency it had by bringing back common. but that's as close to we ever gonna get. they was trying to get Jolie to return who also died in this movie but i think she turn it down and that McAvoy said, regarding the sequel, "I think the studio is keen to make it, and we really want to make it, but we want to make it if it's right and when it's right, and that might not be ever." so, who knows if were ever gonna get a wanted 2 frfr if wanted tie in game is canon then i'll count that as a sequel.
The original comic version was much more brutal. James McAvoy's character essentially chooses to become a supervillain at the end of the story. His power is similar to Bullseye and he literally can't miss. He lives in a world where the supervillains won and all of the heroes are either dead or have been forced to forget they were heroes. He goes into other worlds and kill the likes of Superman and Batman.
Wait This is DC? That explains a LOT of the more fantastical elements in this movie I've always liked it but thought it was pretty cheesy, now it all kind of makes sense
@@TiddyTwysterit's not DC. It was written by Mark Millar, and it has characters that imply that they are Superman and Batman, but they aren't specifically mentioned as them. It's main characters consist of villains based on the rogues gallery of Superman and Batman. The protagonist learns he is a son of a supervillain and is trained to replace his father, which he eventually does. Chaos then ensues when he is betrayed and he goes on a killing spree. So vaguely similar to the plot of the movie, but with supervillains instead of assassins.
Would've been awesome if the movie was more like the original comic version, with dead/defeated superheroes and supervillains secretly ruling the world. Didn't have to be 100% faithful and brutal, but it still would've been great to have Wesley, Fox, Prof. Solomon Seltzer, Mr. Ritcus, etc.!!!
@@richardstephenson8361I agree. This was released in 2008 when superhero movies weren't a staple in pop culture yet, so they removed the superhero elements from the screenplay. Coincidentally, Iron Man released in 2008 as well, ushering a new age of films. If they adapt this comic again into film, they'll have to change Wesley's character, as the one in the comics was irredeemable. He started as a loser with no powers, but pretty much ended up as a sociopath in the end.
Most films don’t make any sense nowadays, but idk man this one just had so much style. I like well written movies, but I still fucking love this movie I truly don’t care how far out there it was
Even in slow motion he's fast compared to everyone else. He's dynamic while they're static. THAT'S the key. Because while he's sprinting, he's also operating at superhuman reaction times. So time has slowed down for him cognitively.
This scene of him blitzing through, blasting through over a dozen people, taking any firearm on his way through will never not be awesome. It's more believable then these other people who somehow always seem to never run out of ammo till its plot convenient for them.
I actually wish this movie had stayed closer to the source material, which was closer to something like The Boys in style and premise. The main character was simply called The Killer, and was actually a supervillain whose power was…well, unaliving people, regardless if they also have superpowers.
Teacher when they left for 1 second and class start to get noisy and 3:07 found the loudest class clown Trying that move with pellet toy gun back then as a kid lol until i watch that mythbuster episode.
after the cringe inducing slow mo scenes in Rebel Moon i go back to see movies from the 2000s, they did the slow mo much better than Zack Snyder in fact Snyder movies like 300 and Watchmen literally did the slow mo better than his movies today
11 year old me thought this was the pinnacle of action movies. At 26, I still love it.
Same me being 26 I love this movie
It’s actually one of the best actions movies ever made, wish it got q sequel.
Or at least have macavoy on more action roles.

it really makes you feel for the rats 🐀 poor things didn't do anything wrong 😔
That said I laugh every time 🤷🏾♀️😄
Always felt bad for the rats... but at least with that amount of explosives.. they never felt anything... just instantly turned to vapor 😔

With that being said i felt bad for em too they never ratted out wesley and they just got the job done without feeling anything much respect to em
Okay , this might be no john wick , but still one of the coolest films ever
This scene at least.
