I love that everybody knows how to put a background, everybody knows how to put transparency, and everybody knows how to merge objects, but very few people know how to use those tools to create real art. This is great stuff, but as a trainer I would definitely recommend you slow down. Not everyone has the same awareness of where all the functions are that you do and it is impossible for some of my people to keep up without hitting the pause button every half second which ticks off the rest of the class. Would be helpful for you to speak slowly and offer the verbal guidance along with the slower movement so people can follow along easier. outside of that, I think folks here found many things very helpful, although they won't remember without some serious practice.

It's true that a lot more can be done in Word, Publisher and PowerPoint than most people realize.

The image holder part is so difficult to understand for beginners like me, I'm hoping maybe you can slow down a little bit. Great work by the way.
completely agreed with you as I also faced the same issue..
The image placeholder disappears after intersect! I can't send it to back once i change the layout of my blank ppt to slide master
@@aanchalgupta922 I was also having that issue, make sure you are selecting both the shape and the holder by pressing ctrl+A and then after clicking somewhere outside, u can goto format>Merge shapes>intersect.
Then close the slide master view.
Hope to some extent my ans was wat u r looking 4.
@@subhasispatnaik975 hey, thanks, i tried it couple of times n it kinda worked with a few clicks here n there, idk how it was definitely not the same sequence though! Now i am not able to send the placeholder back...the option is greyed out.
@@aanchalgupta922 Hehe no probs as m also a victim of the same issue..
It's handy if you launch notepad and write down the steps there, & execute one by one.
If the option has been greyed out, u can check whether the placeholder has been selected solely without disturbing other objects out there..
Or else u can go back (undo) to the very step where it all started and check again from there. Sometimes it works.
U may Try and revert back..😁

I tried making it but got to the intersect phase from the slide master and it didn't work for me it only showed the rectangle without the add picture option i did it several times but always the same so frustrating

When adding the first rectangle on the new master slide I cannot get the merge shapes -interest to. Frustrated as your tutorials are usually v good but I am unable to get this to work. Also slow down a little as your pace is quite hectic when trying to follow this. Thank you
Me too on the first trial..but when you see the video multiple time, he actually selects all the shape that he wants to merge first, then the option for merge shapes will appear

@@tenerife_sea if you use the features that does exist in powerpoint 2016, then you have no problem.(sorry english is not my main)

Wow it appears Powerpoint is capable of many features that were once only native to Adobe Illustrator. Aperature in old cameras (pre-digital) was how wide the "eye" of the camera opened to let light in, (kind of like how your pupil reacts to light.)

The new update on Powerpoint has greatly disoriented the morph transition, it doesn't flow the same way anymore and it's really annoying. But your videos are amazing!!!

Ok, hear me out. I sent the first slide back. Then I inserted rectangle to make the first design. After selecting both, when I intersected them I got the second rectangle thus loosing the first slide which had `click or add a image`. What is the problem?

Same Problem,. When I try to intersect blue rectangle and Picture Placeholder I do not obtain a intersected picture placeholder but a New Blue rectangle. I have tried chanmging the order of selection. No solution. What am I doing wrong?
Hey guys, bring the placeholder to the front - that way you're cropping the placeholder with a shape and not the other way around. Peace out!
