In other countries its called Hilux Surf, first 3 Generation 4Runners used a Hilux Body then 4th to Modern used Land cruiser / Fj cruiser chassis, Fortuner (Hilux Suv with Diesel ) took the role of Hilux 4Runner.

I have the same issues with my 4runners. They're always fishing for gears. And the response is laggy. You should try uphill in D and not sequential. Itll be fun😎

I have a 08 jeep overland 5.7 V8...365 hp & 332 ft-lb... the newer overland jeep ( 2012 & up ) will set you at 390 ft-lb...with skid plates,
4low, locking rear, limited slip, front tow hooks, rear towing, roof rack...it doesn't have the toyota reliability, but trust me, with the quadra drive ll , 5.7 V8 engine, Toyo open country A/T tires...you will have more fun then one can handle...you will not complain.
This 4runner is definitely where jeep grand cherokee met his match...but you just can't match a V6 to 5.7 V8 power 4x4...
They need to up the power on them new 4runners...or otherwise this SUV looses engine power with
bigger M/T tires...

Question to Jeep owners: what do you think of this truck?
I’ve got a 2012 gc Laredo. I’ve had it for about 6 years and overall it’s been good but the transmission is terrible. Going up hills and at highway speeds if just surges all the time. Can’t keep pace so it will drop down gears and rev like crazy. My sister’s 4Runner doesn’t at all and it so much better. Bottom line come December I’ll be replacing my gc with a 4Runner

210772106 why fix what’s not broken? The interiors of 4runners are sleek and simple. Remember this is a sports utility vehicle not some flashy douche mobile that has to have a certain look to keep up with sports car interiors. They’re built to last not deteriorate after 2 years
I'm just saying compared to the rest of Toyota's lineup it even looks dated. It still doesn't even Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto that other competitors have had for years. Not saying other models from Toyota doesn't have that yet cause they do but as much as you're paying for this vehicle it should get caught up to the rest of the lineup as far as the interior at least.@@adnanqutifan3599
I respect that opinion and I do agree that all the Toyota’s interiors should have the same technology. But as a Toyota patron I’m not very up tight about what my interior has technology wise. As long as I have an aux or Bluetooth that I can also control through the steering wheel I really can’t complain. They’re great cars for minimalist people that don’t require a huge computer screen like the Tesla. But yes I do agree that the Toyota lineup each year should have a linear set of features within the vehicle

Jimenez free fire if you’re referring to the limited version of this car with a V8 engine, they no longer are produced. I have a 2004 limited with a v8 and every time I take it in for an oil change I’m told my car is very sought after. The newer models are nice but just not the same without the roar of 8 cylinders

Timothy Bland I don’t get it either. My parents just bought a 2018 Limited and we were all confused as to why the TRD PRO was more expensive than the limited. The limited has a smoother ride and has better acceleration, but the trd pro is clunky.
