Sometimes our hearts even break from people who weren’t even ours to begin with. I know your knees feel to heavy to keep up, I know it feels like they will snap your ankles in half, but remember your feet keep you up even tho your knees feel heavy. Even if that person makes everything feel quite, even if when they smile it feels like your surroundings slow down, even if their eyes are all you want to look into, even if they make reality better than your dreams. You. Need. To. Let. Them. Soar. Free. If you truly love them then you need to let them out of your cage and let them out of your captivity. My younger cousin had 2 pet ducks a few years back, and she didn’t want to let them go, but I told her she has to, they aren’t happy here anymore, we nurtured them and helped them and raised them but none it’s time to let them fly, to let them do the same to their own children. If you love them, then their smile is more valuable then yours to you. We can heal, but if it’s tru love we can’t all completely move on, but we can let them go, hold onto the memories and be glad you got to share your time with them, even if it does really hurt.
