Thank God for great and inspiring souls such Sr. Heather Sikes, please Father send many more labourers to the harvest such as she, for the harvest is great. AVE MARIA!
This Sister is very talented as a communicator -- hope her community uses her talents. Excellent presentation, but it's her personality and her facility with the language that put the cherry on the top.
This is beautiful ❤ I have a question though….where in the Bible should we pray to anyone other than Jesus? I ask this with genuine desire to understand and learn?
Hi Heather, her story is so beautiful, and her love of our Lord so inspiring, thank you for the wonderful comment! It is a common misconception that Catholic's pray to Saints, but rather we pray for their intercession, much as one may ask a friend to pray for us or a family member who is ill. The Church teaches that those who have gone before us , those who are in Heaven are Saints. In John 11:35 "Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live" So they are close to our Lord, and he hears the prayers of those who are close to him. Jesus also says in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth* and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" As Catholics we fully believe that, so we honor the Saints, and ask for their intercession but do not pray to them or in any way worship them, as that would be idolatry. Thank you so much for your comment and many Blessings! Tim
