Speech 30 | Althea T. Javier | What if I let happiness guide my choices? (10 Dec 2024)

Althea T. Javier, a Lasallian turned Iska, is a freshman, currently taking the BS Business Administration and Accountancy program in UP Diliman. Coming from an upper middle class family, reality hits her as her father, their family's sole provider, lost his job a few months ago. During these sensitive times, she dwells on how much her lifestyle would change, and how she would have to continue making decisions, not based on her happiness, but based on what would be best financially-including the university she will be attending.
As she opens up a new path in Diliman, the busy streets and polluted air of Taft Avenue will always linger as an unanswered “What if?” Thus, with the intent of challenging the conventional thinking that happiness is completely inexpensive, she presents her speech entitled: "What if I let happiness guide my choices?"
