For those asking about the pronouns, that is partially on me. I wrote this series as M4F, with genderbending fully allowed, and Naught was sweet enough to try and do so to make it more inclusive. I just believe that became too difficult with how I wrote it, and I'm terribly sorry. While I wrote the character as female, you are absolutely allowed to view them however you see fit. Perhaps, in the future, I can even help rewrite things to make them more accessible. I hope that explains some things!
If i may ask. What made it difficult to make it neutral? I quickly read it and it seems kind of easy? (Not trying to be mean im genuenly qurious)
@@rabslone7527 Oh, it's a valid question. If I'd not been ill at the time, I would have helped rewrite it for Naught, but I just wasn't in great shape at present. I can't speak for Naught, lord knows the man stays busy and does his best for his audience, but that's the explanation from my side. Once more, my apologies for the change :( If the chance arrives, I'd be happy to rewrite it for Naught's sake.
Thank you Esme, I appreciate all of the heart and soul you've put into the series! For those who have questions about where I struggled with the adaptation, I usually try to carefully rewrite dialogue to have a natural flow while keeping the pacing and emphasis that the original work had. I try to avoid doing simple pronoun swaps since I feel that it's important to convey the feeling of the scene and the rhythm of the dialogue. Maybe this isn't always necessary, but I feel that any alterations I make should still allow the original writer's voice to shine through.
For this series, I've been trying for several months to get it to sound just right, but have been unable to do so in a way that I felt worked consistently well for each of the latter episodes. Eventually, I thought to myself that what would be best is to continue to the series as originally written rather than to abandon it entirely. It is my own fault for making this adjustments without carefully considering how this would work in each episode of the series, and instead assuming that if I could adapt the first one well it meant I could adapt the remainder without issues.
As an example of where I found myself stuck, one of the early lines is:
“Mmh, where is she… She didn’t come to bed, she didn’t come to have breakfast with me… She didn’t even join me for our reading time, and she’d so been looking forward to seeing those nonsensical moth drawings, and covering more on chemistry.”
I tried something like:
"“Mmh, where is Rosy… They didn’t come to bed, they didn’t come to have breakfast with me… Rosy didn’t even join me for our reading time, and they'd so been looking forward to seeing those nonsensical moth drawings, and covering more on chemistry.”
When voicing it, I found the words failing to roll off my tongue. The "they" sounded to disruptive, as did using the name "Rosy" repeatedly like:
"“Mmh, where is Rosy… Rosy didn’t come to bed, Rosy didn’t come to have breakfast with me… Rosy didn’t even join me for our reading time, and Rosy had so been looking forward to seeing those nonsensical moth drawings, and covering more on chemistry.”
The flow of the dialogue felt different. Various writers and other VAs did their best to aid me, but in the end I just didn't feel like it was coming out in a way that would be respectful of listeners. I believe it's important to ensure that dialogue written "4A" sounds natural rather than forced, and I couldn't get the words to come out in a way that I felt met that criteria.
@@NaughtPlusZero Oh yeah that makes alot of sence! The flow of words is important to not make things sound clunky. And im not a voiceactor so i can't tell how they could be disruptive lol Its a bit of a bummer but atleast the gals have it :)

I love how Ashton genuinely cares about Rosie despite acting cold and the sinister teasing. You did a fantastic job with the voice acting.
Edit: I also found it funny how Rosie managed to flirt with Ashton while he was prepping for surgery.
Thank you! The script author also had some little unvoiced asides containing Rosie's thoughts such as "Silly Ashton, playing with his knives.".

@@flairartstudios605 I minced the original line. 😅 The exact words were: "You slip into a nice, silly sleep while Ashton does his nice, silly knife tricks. Silly, silly, silly"
The directions also get a little wobbly once Rosy is drugged. They go from "[Pause]" to "[PaUsE?]"
As a side note, "Unhappy wing flaps" is a challenging sound effect to get right! 😄

Yes, I'm sorry. The original script was "M4F" and at the time I didn't realize how much trouble I'd have adapting this to M4A with each successive episode. I've been sitting on the series for a while because of this, but finally decided to bite the bullet and just release it in "M4F" form.
