@@Ashlego It’s happened only twice in this specific manner, and both were confirmed to have been genuine mistakes. People are always gonna buy things they want if they can afford it, but like I said, the main motivation for the compensation was potential legal troubles.

the entire concept of OG is stupid. no one cares if you played the game 7 years ago. most accounts with og edit styles have been illegally sold years ago.
@@KINGAizen-x6oit is illegal, because you’re breaching the end user agreement you made with Epic Games which prohibits the purchasing or selling of Epic Games accounts AKA Fortnite accounts, although you won’t be jailed or fined for it, but your accounts can get banned or you computer can be banned from Epic online services
This is them probably testing different solutions on how they can please the og players who have these older cosmetics while allowing newer players to buy them...Personally I'm on board with this especially sknce a large amount of people i know and play with dont have the og skins like i do and this could be leading to something more impactful like old battle passes returning or at minimum select cosmetics from specific passes
It’s been working with the item shop cosmetics why don’t they implement it in battle passes. I lost an account that had Black Knight and shit on it. I just want to play with those skins again
it would be really funny if they accidentally released stealth reflex and made an OG style for the exclusive variant of an exclusive skin they accidentally put in the shop
The investment Epic has to make in order to bring back old battle pass cosmetics with an exclusive og style is not worth it. On top of the 200 skins Epic has to now make new og styles for, they also have to do the same with the pickaxes, gliders, and wraps that came in the battle pass with a lot of these skins. It wouldn’t make sense to bring the skins back and not have them accompanied by their respective sets. So, the number of cosmetics that now need og styles is around 400. Considering all of this, there’s no real incentive for Epic to put all of this effort into making og styles when they’re already making a crap ton of money through releasing new battle passes and collabs, which would be hurt by Epic having to shift focus to making these new styles.
@@Mr.Spade1 Personally, I think it’s okay for exclusivity to exist in video games. As long as it’s done tastefully, then I don’t see a problem with it. I mean, they’re just a bunch of pixels right? Who cares if an item is exclusive or not?
@@tophatfrog554 Well yeah the "they're just pixels" argument goes both ways, I personally think that battle passes shouldn't be exclusive, but things like the founder's edition cosmetics and year-specific FNCS stuff should stay exclusive. As someone who has pretty much every single battle pass, I don't think there's a really discernable argument as to why they shouldn't be able to be purchased. I don't associate value with Omega because "I got him OG" I associate value with him because I worked for the skin and it looks awesome, and I think that more people should be able to have that experience.
Eh, on the other hand, the skins already exist. If Epic goes the item shop route they'd effectively only have to make a single style (recolor) for a skin, then sell the skin for 1500 or 2000 v-bucks without that style, less work compared to making a whole new skin but all the profit.
the reason skull trooper and ghoul got og styles was because they WERE marketed as limited time in a blog post and i believe in game at the time. not because they were bought by people who supported the game early. the pattern of OG styles is because of items being labeled as limited time are being brought back and its a way to compensate original owners, i think OG styles make sense in that regard
To make it as short as possible: I don't think Paradigm was an ,,accident". The just test the waters of how much they can step out ( by selling exlusive time limited cosmetics again and earn money for that ) and got away with it. Like I said, in my subjective opinion, Paradigm incident was planned and attentional. They are just getting greedy and ,,slowly from formal to not" overcome their promises. This applies only for selling cosmetics guys, I still think Fortnite ain't bad, only in this area.
Paradigm, Reflex, and the bow blades should be able to come back like Skull and Ghoul Trooper. Og owners already got their peace so why not give Paradigm, Reflex, and the Bow Blades the same treatment. I don't really care are about Reflex or Paradigm but I know there's people who want them I don't see why they can't come back now.
Because skull and ghoul trooper weren't exclusive skins, they were just rare. Paradigm was an exclusive limited time skin and it was locked to the Season X event. Epic refunded the new buyers and let them keep the skin so they wouldn't make any profit from the return of the skin since that's false advertisement, but as an OG owner of paradigm I gotta say I think it's a little unfair to those who weren't able to buy her in that one hour time frame
@@HURRIC4NEyt Right, but Paradigm, Reflex, and the Bow Blades don't matter anymore. Og owners already got og edit styles, so the base styles are useless to them.
You’re calling it OG but you forget it’s actually a compromise since they said it was exclusive. You’ve bought the skin get to keep it. We get a style as an apology.
I hate it when someone wants purple skull trooper because it's rare, I want it because the purple glow looks so good, and there isn't many skins at all with that awesome purple.
same. My brother has it and sometimes I wish it wasn't an exclusive style cus I use his acc at times and I just wanna rock the purple skull cus I love purple but there's always all the kids targetting you just for using it
as a season 1 player that has returned. "og edit styles" was first introduce aka pink ghoul and purple skull because during their first release they said it was exclusive and would "never return" so we got those edit styles as an apology when they brung back fortnitemares an an rereleased the skins. now the paradagim skin did kinda throw me off but i do understand, but i also think during that season they also said it would be exclusive an never return. so thats what i think happened. also its liek say for instance galaxy got released into the shop. which is exclusive and u had to buy an entire new 1000$ phone for the skin an it just released in the shop. would u not want those players to be rewarded u purchased the phone? just pixels or not. people go about this the wrong way.. epic made a mistake an wanted to give back to the players.
My only problem with OG edit styles is that they don’t give it to every OG skin that goes into the item shop like both Star Lord and Black widow 2 skins that for a long while only available during chapter 1 returned with no OG edit style so it always has me wondering why do some skins get OG edit styles and some skins don’t.
The OG Paradigm style is as rare as Paradigm would be had they not made a mistake, it was labeled as exclusive at the time, it would be LEGALLY fraud had someone proven it was intentionally returned. Cope harder
brother I don't think that they give this skin by accident they did this on purpose Because of the fortnite battle pass exclusivity if we can give a rare skin like paradigm so why we can't give battlepass skin back they have mind like me 💀
i bought paradigm back when season x was ending, didnt think much of it but it became one of the main skins id run, i loved the white edit style with the smile face. i stooped playing fortnite after fortnite og and recently came back to play. its nice to get a "OG edit style" did i need one? no but they did say it was going to be exclusive to that season, so i can appreciate the style as a "were sorry". some people got a cool skin, and i got a cool edit style. its a win for everyone in my eyes.
giving special edit style for skull trooper and ghoul trooper had less sense than the paradigm one, since was no mention whatsoever in store that those skins will be time limited. paradigm has special „limited” tag when it was available.
i think bringing back exclusive cosmetics with an edit style is pretty cool personally, i would love to have some cool variant of drift while also allowing everyone else to use the original skin they like
I’m completely fine with exclusive items returning at a later date, as long as original owners receive an alternative style. This lets new players enjoy the items while ensuring original owners still have something unique to feel special about.
The mfs that want OG edit styles for cosmetics they bought when the game had like 20 other players must have absolutely nothing going on in their lives for them to hold pixels on a screen to such novelty.
Facts doesn't help when a majority of these players haveing there wallets out to make a purchase in a potentially dead in a few months game grants them a style as commitment yet I played just didn't purchase that skin in specific which is bologna :/OG just makes me sick I'm all for pass to return and it's been along time comeing just hope it all blows over well with the community

Been playing since season 2 and 100%'d every BP since season 3. I honestly don't care if they do bring anything from the old passes back; I already had my fun with the skins and emotes, so let others do whatever. Only desperate people that want attention will want to gatekeep those. I also have "Black Panther" Paradigm but it doesn't make any sense on why they gave her an "OG" edit style. People literally called her an ugly reskin and skipped on buying them back in Season X but then bring up the "limited time" thing as if it really matters. I don't care at all if they decide to bring every single skin in my locker to the shop I would be happy for the people that want the skin. I buy my skins because I like them, not because they're exclusive
@@Ashlego well no it’s not even ok for paradigm to get a og style , just bring every item shop skin ever made + emote to the shop and be done with it . Leave it in for days not minutes either
That is like super hard to do you know that right? Especially when Epic time and time again said old battle passes are exclusive and don't return along with exclusive items and promos. Bringing them back would allow the possibility for lawsuits.
Honestly at this point people really need to shut up about OG skins. Its 2024, it's not the end of the world if an "OG skin" were to not have a style only meant for "OG players". Cut it out. They already have skins that are still considered OG. Smh.
I’d understand calling s5+ “not og” if it was like 2019-2020, but calling them not og NOW, when it’s literally been 6 years since those seasons, is kinda dumb. Let them make OG styles for all the c1 bp skins for all I care. It won’t be the same but people who care that much need to take a break from the game 🤷♂️

I know im a boomer yada yada but the simplicity was a huge draw to alot of people back then when all the other battle royales at the time were "hardcore" and much more complex
Hey mystic, i actually really agree with this video, and i think thats how we make the fortnite community better. Being able to agree and disagree is how we can get to actual good ideas, and i genuinely think the Fortnite community needs to realize that. I didnt agree with your console exclusive vid, but i do agree with this one in the fact that they are getting kind of weird now. Great vid again, man
Honestly I have a theory of my own, epics on the boat of bringing back newer battle passes, it was a Donald mustard type thing where he said thirty but whiddled it down to 2 days for the live event, which is exactly what he wanted anyway. Their testing to see if they can just bring back old battle passes, or if they need styles. Because it would make them way more money either way
@@Mr.Spade1 I personally think they should because someone new shouldn't be locked out of skins like Rick and Morty and Thor if their fans of their respective shows, it's not a fact of weather I want them or not. I just think that's only fair to new players
@@Mr.Spade1 exactly. They always talk about OG styles and stuff but then when they get them, they don't use them. Not once have I seen anyone wearing OG paradigm style or and rare pick axe or anything, and you can't sell accounts because of TOS, So why the hell is it such a problem, I don't get it
Unfortunately I've lost a lot of money and sleep over pink ghoul... As sad as that may be Edit: if anything Recon Expert should've gotten an exclusive style, especially with how hyped up they made the return
I have paradigm's OG style, but like I couldn't care less about old cosmetics coming back. I don't even touch 99% of the skins I own. Pretty sure the average player isn't going to care about the cosmetic you're wearing in a normal match anyway.
It's not hard to solve. Epic already has loads of shaders coded for the Super Styles. Just take those, apply them to the "OG" skins (call them "Seasonal Styles") for those who owned them from back in the day, and bring the skins (yes, including BPs) into the shop after 18+ months. That way, people can have their exclusivity, and the rest of us can buy skins we'd like to own but don't because we weren't playing the game back then. Seems so weird to me to lock collabs and even OCs behind BPs over the long term. Limited exclusivity of 18 months makes a lot of sense, not to mention that if you didn't get the battle pass, you're gonna have to wait AND pay a LOT more for those skins. Idk, seems pretty simple to me.
Psycho bandit isn’t exactly an OG skin, but if they ever bring it back, since a new borderlands is coming, they should give it a cell shading edit style but only for the people that had it previously. I think they made him before fortnite ever did cell shading, but he deserves it
Having skins since the season shop, I honestly don't care if anything gets brought back, that was like 4 years ago at this point, move on. If they're so worried that they'd have to make "OG styles" for every skin, take the Crew approach, make a "og shader" variant and slap it on the whole menagerie, then they can slap it on anything as they trickle release the skins through the shop.
Happened with Rambunctious and tidy and a lot of things that shouldn’t be back are back “by mistake 😉 ” epic wants the bag cus ppl would buy those and the ogs would get a new edit style (for skins) it’s that simple
I'll be honest, I really don't care, especially for a pickaxe? I know I will get it, but I really don't care for the pick in question, and especially when they are like. "Oh no, this very new limited exclusive item, we put it in the shop by mistake, gotta make a new og style." This is meanwhile I am still waiting for more people to have the opportunity to get some of the rare items that weren't advertised as exclusive from that same chapter.
I think collabs skins should never be limited, not counting ones that cant retirn due to licensing and such, obvioulsy, however anything from chapter 1 really shouldnt return, i dont care if i sound petty or whatever, rare items in games are always really nice to have, people shouldnt just be handed something that has a meaning because, if you didnt earn it, deal with it, if ya didnt play when it was available, deal with it
Just bring back every cosmetic ever. Make the prices fair. Free items should now cost money, battle pass skins are separate and would have to be bought for their respected price as if they were from the shop. Console exclusives get high prices or they get an exception of not returning. Everything else should be back. OG owners should have an account status profile that shows if they are an og of said thing or not through an achievement. Maybe even add a custom back bling that they flex any achievement off. Everyone has their status of OG, everyone has their favorite cosmetic, and Epic Games has everyone’s money. To keep the FOMO for selling cosmetics, they can restart and begin a whole new era of FOMO for new cosmetics being gatekept until 10 years later. They can break the shackles again and repeat the process I stated earlier. It is literally the most fair, money making, respectable way of rereleasing cosmetics.
do you remember that once the shop items were leaked for the whole next month? i dont believe releasing paradigm (her relity warrior style) and bow blades was an accident.
NOT only should they bring back the old passes for these newer players but they should also bring those "og" styles for everyone, so nobody has any bragging rights unless you bought ikonik or galaxy. the elitism in this game is so wack.
i get what you’re saying; but then what would the point of an OG style be if everyone has the style anyway. there wouldn’t be a point other than just another edit style (that isn’t “og”) which i wouldnt mind.
yeah skull and ghoul trooper wasn't exclusive so it doesn't really even make sense that they even have any edit styles that are exclusive, but skins like galaxy and ikonik are exclusive. Paradigm is also an exclusive but I never understood why skull trooper got an edit style tbh
U forgot to mention when they brought back reflex to the shop a long time ago it’s understandable with him tho because the graphics card u had to buy to get him was not cheap so they gave og owners stealth reflex not an edit style a completely different skin but it’s still the same thing
One thing I don’t get is people whining about og styles and saying that if the skins come back they shouldn’t get extra styles Like man you’re literally proving that it isn’t the skin you want it’s the fact that it’s “rare” and completely ignoring that when it returns it won’t be rare
fr, I'd be okay with some older bp returning if we got edit styles for them but I'd rather it would be the newer battle passes, not like chapter 1 stuff, I couldn't get omega lights in time in s4 but I'd rather that just stay like that. I don't want edit styles for any c1 battlepass skins, I just want those to be left alone cus back then people actually worked hard to get all that shit and the only real "good" players were the streamers and youtubers and it was just generally harder back then
OG edit style is just a term… let’s not get stuck in the semantics of that word. It’s a style made for players that bought an item that was meant to be unobtainable for one reason or another and that’s it. There’s no conundrum😂
I bought ghoul the day it first released... I was upset when I got this cotton candy looking ass ghoul at first, but I've grown to like it, I can't remember the last time I actually wore it in game though lmao.
Lowkey I don’t mind if they “accidentally” release these old skins again as long as there is an edit style to show you had it for a long time cause to me skins are milestones for how long you’ve been playing for and kind of a progression if you will
I think people who had there accounts since like the game started at the time I didnt have enough money for for some skins cause I was like maybe 15 at the time when it came out I bought skull trooper. i got them a little later in chapter one but i wasnt able to get the purple og style which is to bad.

Not the first time he’s really been that way. Some of his other videos he’s back and forth a lot. Sounds to me like he’s acting that way because he probably has one but not the other
I mean when they do “accidentally” add rare cosmetics, they get hundreds of people to buy v-bucks before it’s gone. They actually do gain a lot from doing this. Sure you have to make a new style, but that’s a small price to pay when hundreds of thousands of people already bought v-bucks.
From someone who collects alot and has been playing since pre-order of save the world and who played but never committed to the BR scene the whole OG edit styles idea is awful and just a horrible incentive to continue to pay for cosmetics for more fear of fomo like I own ghoul trooper now but did play and watched them both roll through shop but nobody could of expected them to be given a style for spending money on a game that I agree was a complete commitment to buy in a possible dead in a few months game the only title thats fair is renegade raider I understand it was there first test at shop and alot of trial and error I mean you even had to level up to obtain it and didn't have the ability to buy it directly without time sunk in but to have your wallet handy got you a style in both events on the paradigm skin and for the ghoul and skull trooper just rubs me wrong and its sick and if epic wanted they could of refunded the owners of the original as well if they wished to push the skin to the shop but the fact they said were removeing it then suddenly back peddling was a huge L I think it was a AWFUL idea..especially in a game where recolored skins could be an entire shop skin for 20$ with one change across the board but the notion that OG styles for these skins are fair is just spreading fomo man because if they truely cared it would of been given to all players who played the season even if they bought it in future just dumb spending money wins again these entire arguements in imo are pointless when they values they lay on are as secure as cardboard in a rainstorm..epic could prevent as ma y lawsuits as they want but there the one causeing them in the first place because guess what they imo planned it to return "Accidentally" because If that wasn't the case why update it for shop at all?..just found it pointless to throw blame when it was added by the dev's themselves this is self sabotage if this was an accident but I highly doubt it I made my peace I'm gonna go back to vibeing would love to hear yalls opinion?
@@Ashlego It’s happened only twice in this specific manner, and both were confirmed to have been genuine mistakes. People are always gonna buy things they want if they can afford it, but like I said, the main motivation for the compensation was potential legal troubles.
Honestly at first when I found out that the battlepass was no longer exclusive I’ll admit I was a little upset, then I saw what halo infinite is doing and the fact that it doesn’t really matter what your wearing. I’m all for og battle passes to come back
the entire concept of OG is stupid. no one cares if you played the game 7 years ago. most accounts with og edit styles have been illegally sold years ago.

1:19 I swear to god these item shops are made by AI, no human "accidently" just does that.
EXACTLY, how do you NOT notice that
it is, sometimes its made by humans but 99% of the time its AI.
yeah they are but when paradigm returned, a human did it and it was not on accident.
It was a experiment
This is them probably testing different solutions on how they can please the og players who have these older cosmetics while allowing newer players to buy them...Personally I'm on board with this especially sknce a large amount of people i know and play with dont have the og skins like i do and this could be leading to something more impactful like old battle passes returning or at minimum select cosmetics from specific passes
It’s been working with the item shop cosmetics why don’t they implement it in battle passes. I lost an account that had Black Knight and shit on it. I just want to play with those skins again
Usually I would disagree with you but I feel bad for you losing that account
I had every bp skin from season 6 to chapter 2 season 4 I want them back
Yeah but would I get an og style for my black knight if they brought it back for everyone? I better
Battlepass skins should all come back 100%
You paid 950 v bucks for these skins, someone else buying one for 1500 doesn't remove the value of it
it would be really funny if they accidentally released stealth reflex and made an OG style for the exclusive variant of an exclusive skin they accidentally put in the shop
Or they could just you know... bring them back and let us ogs suck it up because it really doesn't matter at all.
They didn't care much about remaking all their skins and emotes as legos and giving all there skins a fall guys variant
the reason skull trooper and ghoul got og styles was because they WERE marketed as limited time in a blog post and i believe in game at the time. not because they were bought by people who supported the game early.
the pattern of OG styles is because of items being labeled as limited time are being brought back and its a way to compensate original owners, i think OG styles make sense in that regard
I mean from what i saw everyone loved paradigm returning...honestly they need to ditch the "exclusivity" of skins and stuff...
They never did actually say that with paradigm...
@@kale1209 they did - I bought it back then because it would be exclusive. You can look it up if you want to
It solves both issues. The players who technically weren't supposed to have those items get to keep it, but the original owners get a extra style.
Those weren't exclusive. Paradigm was and the skull and goul trooper were just the oldest you can get with item shop skins so those are understandable
I had red knight and crack shot OG and didn’t get any edit styles 😅
The OG Paradigm style is as rare as Paradigm would be had they not made a mistake, it was labeled as exclusive at the time, it would be LEGALLY fraud had someone proven it was intentionally returned. Cope harder

i bought paradigm back when season x was ending, didnt think much of it but it became one of the main skins id run, i loved the white edit style with the smile face. i stooped playing fortnite after fortnite og and recently came back to play. its nice to get a "OG edit style" did i need one? no but they did say it was going to be exclusive to that season, so i can appreciate the style as a "were sorry". some people got a cool skin, and i got a cool edit style. its a win for everyone in my eyes.
giving special edit style for skull trooper and ghoul trooper had less sense than the paradigm one, since was no mention whatsoever in store that those skins will be time limited. paradigm has special „limited” tag when it was available.
I’ve couldn’t care less if old battle pass stuff came back and an og style for them seems unnecessary
i think bringing back exclusive cosmetics with an edit style is pretty cool personally, i would love to have some cool variant of drift while also allowing everyone else to use the original skin they like
I’m completely fine with exclusive items returning at a later date, as long as original owners receive an alternative style. This lets new players enjoy the items while ensuring original owners still have something unique to feel special about.
Exactly what I was thinking
just make super styles exclusive
The mfs that want OG edit styles for cosmetics they bought when the game had like 20 other players must have absolutely nothing going on in their lives for them to hold pixels on a screen to such novelty.

I'd honestly like to see any gatekeepers take epic to court over these things; it'd be funny to watch
Cringe your opinion is pointless
It’s not an og style it’s an apology style for re-releasing an item labeled as exclusive. It’s not really needed but it’s for players to get off their backs
Hot take: Lazy lake is just a better tilted towers but no everyone thinks lazy lake sucks and tilted is the best but no that’s not true.
Also chapter four is underrated!
I remember when epic brought back the zone war skins and gave the second edit style for free for the players who missed out on the zone war event which was a spit in the face for people who bought it when and first came out and had to grind for the edit styles
I don't care at all if they decide to bring every single skin in my locker to the shop I would be happy for the people that want the skin.
I buy my skins because I like them, not because they're exclusive
We can’t be ok with item shop skins being rarer than battle pass skins

@@Ashlego well no it’s not even ok for paradigm to get a og style , just bring every item shop skin ever made + emote to the shop and be done with it . Leave it in for days not minutes either

I think it’s dumb that players care about exclusive like Fortnite skins should never be exclusive it should be available for everyone
Everyone except you deserve og exclusives
I’d understand calling s5+ “not og” if it was like 2019-2020, but calling them not og NOW, when it’s literally been 6 years since those seasons, is kinda dumb. Let them make OG styles for all the c1 bp skins for all I care. It won’t be the same but people who care that much need to take a break from the game 🤷♂️
I remember buying skull trooper and the reaper the day they hit the store back in season 1, i really miss when the game was slower paced and had shopping carts. I know im a boomer yada yada but the simplicity was a huge draw to alot of people back then when all the other battle royales at the time were "hardcore" and much more complex
They are preparing to release a battle pass skin and give it a “Og style”
Because it would make them way more money either way
@@ToxicPhantom-x1o What's your take on the idea of battle passes coming back?

I have paradigm's OG style, but like I couldn't care less about old cosmetics coming back.
I don't even touch 99% of the skins I own. Pretty sure the average player isn't going to care about the cosmetic you're wearing in a normal match anyway.
SHOP BROUGHT COSMETICS SHOULD NOT HAVE "OG STYLES".
Nothing OG about a purchasable item from a shop.
I think they made him before fortnite ever did cell shading, but he deserves it
He came out during season x and his poi had its own cell shading effect when you entered it
@ then why didnt rhey give him cell shading💀
@@MayonnaiseAndMalaise2go don't ask me
Having skins since the season shop, I honestly don't care if anything gets brought back, that was like 4 years ago at this point, move on.

"Oh no, this very new limited exclusive item, we put it in the shop by mistake, gotta make a new og style."
This is meanwhile I am still waiting for more people to have the opportunity to get some of the rare items that weren't advertised as exclusive from that same chapter.
It is literally the most fair, money making, respectable way of rereleasing cosmetics.

technically, its more impressive if you _dont_ have the og style for the paradigm, as you had to be quick on the draw, instead of not being poor back when it came out
i forgot it was supposed to be "exclusive," i just had a neuron activation moment when i saw "season X"
now that the paradigm has an og style i feel like they should put the one without the style in the shop for a day so that the people who were asleep or something can get it
sorry but this take is horrible lmao
How so?
