12:23 - As a young queer person myself (I'm 27, younger in relation to the generation of the characters in the film) who was really excited for All of Us Strangers and generally excited about Andre Haigh's films, I can definitely speak to that many queer people around my age in their mid-20s are still dealing with a lot of the topics the characters navigate in the film, and really feel a connection and resonance to the story. While feelings of isolation, loss, and alienation may not be as widespread as it was in the 80s and 90s post-AIDS, I still feel the fallout of those sentiments especially in relation to my parents who were engaged with a lot of the homophobic propaganda of the time. It's definitely a huge wound that has yet to be healed and I'm grateful for Andrew Haigh's film speaking to it and doing that work of recovering our community from such a huge collective trauma. Grateful for the experience of crying in a theater in San Francisco with my boyfriend amongst other queer people about this type of loss.

It's a pity that the interviewer omits Andrew Haigh's two excellent TV series from his list near the start: Looking and The North Water. Although Haigh didn't direct and/or write all of Looking, he was definitely the primary artistic shaper of the two seasons and the wrap-up movie, and its story of the friendship of three gay men in San Francisco is realized beautifully. And Haigh has described The North Water, a dark and powerful tale, as a five-hour movie. Both of these shows are cast impeccably and the actors give of their very best, as in the four films mentioned. Thank you.
