I already have sport mode on my outer banks, the other modes that I could add would cause errors since they engage lockers. I will see what we can do though, maybe I can borrow someone’s badlands.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Ok, thanks, I have a badlands supposedly being delivery in the next few days and I'd love to add sports mode to it, but I've never used Forscan before so not sure I would be comfortable enough to do it without seeing the settings in the program.

Thanks for the video - informative and useful. Question: what does this mod do to the warranty and possible related repairs or work? As I understand it any changes to the computer programs or systems are recorded and Ford (or more likely the dealership) may use that to deny warranty coverage.
That is a big reason why we stuck to only modifying the Lights, Double Honk, and Tire Size. I do not think any of those would be a cause for a Warranty claim unless they really wanted to deny us but in that case there are probably a dozen other reasons they could find to deny us. ForScan allows for a lot of customization but there are some things that are just not worth it in our opinion.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I had the same question on this. Really it shouldn't void any warranty as long what was programmed wasn't part of a system or part that failed. Thanks for the information and video!
Yes, we added the OEM trailer brake controller. Forscan was easily able to activate the controls and the dashboard screens. Cool thing was, the plug/harness was already in the F150, just plugged into the back of a coin holder. The complete job took maybe 10 minutes to install and activate.
Hii Guys 👋 I did change the tyre size and it works fine .. for the AWD relearn it works successfully but when i relearn the PCM it shows service procedure has been interrupted ... any ideas how to fix it ? I have now a DTC about power terrain i think cant clear it 😕

It’s work the same on super duty? Please do a video with your super duty I hate double honk too I have 37s on my tremor need to recalibrate speedometer and tires light on when air be low 65 psi and I run with 45f/40rear psi but light on now Thank you
6:26 Can you elaborate on this issue . I have never heard of the A.S.S. being linked to the tire position in any way whatsoever and can see no indication of this within Forscan .
My understanding, maybe there is a better ForScan process for this now, but one of the methods to prevent auto start/stop is to fully turn the wheel in one direction and I thought the ForScan method to disable it is to trick the system into thinking the wheels are turned. I was not comfortable with the process and decided not to dig into it any deeper. Instead we just made the habit of pressing the disable button or drive in sport mode. There certainly could be a process that is completely safe.
This is great! Thank you! One question. I bought a Forscan to eliminate that horrific double Honk also, but then discovered it only works with a PC, not a Mac computer. Do you know if this is true with the Forescan you bought and maybe i just have an older version. Or maybe it was a non-issue since it appears you guys are using a PC. Thank you! Also I did purchase the separate stop/start eliminator and it works great and a very easy install.
I am sorry I am not sure about the Mac thing as we have a PC, they may have a Mac version? If not maybe someone will let you borrow their laptop? Thanks for the feedback on the start stop eliminator.
Ive done Forscan through a VM on Mac (VMware Fusion to be exact). I also had a Bluetooth dongle which is another layer to deal with, but it wasn't a problem. If you aren't technically inclined, a Windows laptop maybe easiest and then again, you might not want to be doing Forscan if you aren't.
Great video!! I just did this to my OBX because I also put 35s on there. I got my speedometer to be accurate which is great! However, I now have a service error that says "Check 4x4". Any thoughts as to what might be going on there? Thank you!!
When taking your vehicles to the Ford dealer for service, is there any issue with them resetting the computer back to original settings? Have heard of people having to go back in after service to change setting after each visit to the dealer. (Foreign OEM)
I don’t see why they would reset your computers unless that is indeed what you are in service for. Even if they did, it doesn’t take a lot of time to go back in and redo after getting your car back.
Can this also be used to calibrate a signature headlight? I just installed sig lights on my Big Bend... passenger side works fine because I bought the light with control module intact. For the driver side, I needed to buy a control module but I think it needs some calibration because it doesn't have the crossbar lit up and a couple of other weird things going on. Would Forscan fix that?
The number of times “forscan” was said, my wife for sure thought I was watching something inappropriate around my daughter 😂. She said go watch that somewhere else
I tried doing this and I keep getting error codes when i'm done. Servce 4x4, service charging system etc... When I load forscan it says my adapter cable isn't the correct one. I have the exact same one as you. I had to undo everything and clear my dtc's to make the error codes go away. I retried several times only to get more error codes.
A pop up will come up that explains how the relearn corrects any mismatches between Vin, Tire Size and Axle Ratio. I start this with the engine running
I’m half way through it will have you turn the ignition off then back on without starting the engine and it will complete the relearn. Takes around 30 seconds.
Just came back from offroading where after I started my car again on the trail the service 4x4 and check engine light came on. This prevented me from shifting from 2H to 4H or 4L. I just restarted the car and it went away and everything worked. I'm sitting here with the scanner and it says the code is with the AWD module and that it exceeded the relearn limit. Anyone got a solution?
Thanks guys. I just did this today to my 21 Bronco OB. I changed all 3, and it worked as you stated, but now I have a "check 4x4" wrench light on and Ford Pass says I have a Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. Any ideas on why it caused that and how to correct it? Thanks again.
@@chrissousanh any idea why when I go to PCM Module initialization relearn, it gets an error at 2% saying Service Procedure Interrupted? Won't let me complete the relearn and I have the wrench light after upping the tire size.
I don’t own a bronco but can you replicate the same thing you just did on this video on a 2014 Ford focus? I’ve dabbled with FORSCAN once but I was wondering if it’s better to have the vehicle running while editing the features? My worry is having a dead battery with the car off lol
I will take a look when we get home tonight. I recall that if I did not have the engine running all of the modules would not appear. Also if I started on MS or HS it would show differently.
Thanks for the detailed video! Question, how do you save the original files and how do you upload them if you want to go back to the original settings? Thanks!
I've heard that you might get error codes after you change tire circumference, and you have to get certain modules to "re-learn" the new value. Did you encounter this on your Outer Banks?
You said you got errors disabling the auto stop start? I watched this video when you first published and again this morning. Any update/change to the not wanting to turn off auto stop/start? I turned the double honk off on my wife's Explorer ST (My Bronco arrives in a few days) and I didn't have the convenient "Enable/disable" prompts in Forscan like you had. I had to modify the actual codes "xxxx xxxx xxxx" with the correct code and position. I downloaded the spreadsheet with all of the codes for all the mods. Long story short, I wonder if changing the actual codes in the module would resolve your errors (If I heard you correctly in the video)
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Thanks for the reply and I share your same concern. So I think I lucked out. With the 7-Speed manual, auto start/stop will only shut off the vehicle when the clutch is disengaged and the vehicle is stopped. With my driving habit, I always keep the clutch pushed in at traffic lights, so it never shuts off.
Great video and good warning on how the FORscan auto start/stop function works. This is a somewhat unrelated question to your build, but FORscan related. I am getting my Bronco with the modular bumper, which eliminates the fog lights. I plan on getting something in there and wonder if you know if the fog light switch is still part of the light switch assembly and just disabled so it can be turned on via FORscan, or do they put in a different assembly on models without fog lights?
From what I've read on the forums and seen in the Forscan codes, the wiring is there, you just need to buy a fog light headlight switch assembly and activate it in Forscan
So we have the 2021 Big Bend. Change the tires to 35x12.5x17. So speedometer was off. Followed the video and everything was going okay, then received a few errors. Tried to restore from back up and and it says my file is not valid. That is a first. I have been using Forscan on my F350 for several years now. Now when I go back the body control module and hit run the screen doesn't look like anything was before. So I am not sure if everything is good or not. I was able to do the relearn and clear the codes. But I am not 100% sure if everything is okay. If I were able to get a back up from someone else that has the Big Bend edition would a back up of that one and be able to restore to mine? Thanks, Mark
Let me see if I can find the website with the factory “As Build” specific for the vehicle’ a VIN. We had to redo this process since the video was posted and the second time we also had errors populate. We were able to clear them by completing the relearns.
I have errors after changing my tire size also. I read to do a relearn but I’m new to forscan and not sure if I did the relearn correctly. Errors in PCM, ABS and AWD.
This is actually a comment for your audio upgrade. I know you said you took your input for the rear from the kicker for the rear because it sounded tinny but did you know that there’s a fire scam setting the change the rear input to fill range?
Pretty cool. At 2:30ish referring to tire circumference.. you are literally standing in front of the spare. Get a piece of string and then measuring tape... then you know the actual circumference. While most tires are near listed size, the BFG All-Terrain KO2 you're using has actually been reported by owners of some sizes to be a bit undersized. Might as well make it perfect, right? :)
Great point! We actually keyed in 2,600 mm to start there with dialing it in and it came out perfect. Our speed has been confirmed by Waze and a roadside radar.
No, we are a little weary of adding any goat modes, besides appearing as a option I am not sure we would see a benefit. Most of the goat modes are simply quick ways to lock the lockers and move into either 4H or 4L along with throttle and transmission mapping and possibly sta-bar disconnect. Since we do not have factory lockers I am not sure that we would see a benefit based on our Bronco specs.
Hi PP5, any new videos coming out using Forscan soon? Just got my license and software setup. Cable comes tomorrow. I will be doing a few changes over the weekend :)

Please do a FORScan video on how to add sport mode. I saw that is possible on the bronco6g forum.
@@2011blueman congrats! I will see what we can do
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I wouldn't congrats anyone until it's in their driveway. It looks like Ford is going to miss the delivery ETA window just like they missed the first 8 build weeks they promised.
Can you extend the remote start time? And how do you get the blinking headlights? Thanks
The led blinking comes across the camera because of frame rate of the video they aren’t actually blinking. I know Flashcal will do remote start, and I’m sure Forscan does but not totally sure since I haven’t done it through that.
Nowhere in your video does it show us how to get Forscan. I bought the adapter but don’t know how to access Forscan. Can you please help with this?
Great vid, do you know if Forscan could be used to disable the front and rear parking sensors as well as the adaptive cc. The reason I ask is because I'm going to install a Ford factory winch. I can modify the mounting plate but I don't really even want the parking sensors adaptive cc anyway. Thanks.
I am not sure, it has been awhile since I was in there to see.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Wow, that was quick. Thanks anyway, You guy's are doing a great job! Appreciate all of your hard work for the vids! Maybe I'll see you guy's on the trail sometime.
Thanks, will be picking this up.
I did the auto headlight disable on mine with FORScan. I didn't like that it turned my headlights on auto every time I started the vehicle.
There are so many things you can do with it, it is a great tool!
Thank you this was very helpful!
Have you tried adjusting the heated steering wheel temp with Forscan?
No, we do not have the heated steering wheel.
Great info to know when I get mine! Thanks Krista and Matt! 😎
You’re welcome!
Hello there,
Already got the forscan. So do i did to download some app or juat plug and play? Thanks!
awesome tutorial, great step by step, what changes did you make to your f150?
Thank you! I believe the F150 we added the trailer brake.
Yes, we added the OEM trailer brake controller. Forscan was easily able to activate the controls and the dashboard screens. Cool thing was, the plug/harness was already in the F150, just plugged into the back of a coin holder. The complete job took maybe 10 minutes to install and activate.
Hii Guys 👋
I did change the tyre size and it works fine .. for the AWD relearn it works successfully but when i relearn the PCM it shows service procedure has been interrupted ... any ideas how to fix it ? I have now a DTC about power terrain i think cant clear it 😕
Can you use the forscan for the zone lights on the driver and passenger side mirrors to turn them into signal lights?!
I am not sure on that, but we are going to see about being able to keep the zone light on while driving
Hello! Thank you for your videos. Did 2600 work more accurately for the speedometer for you guys?
Will using this void any warranties on the vehicle?
This was great... I will be nervous messing with the computer. I had the double honk too. Scares the poo out of me almost every time I get my mail. Did you guys get a new camera or mic? Something seems different. Looks better. Maybe I just had too much wine with dinner tho!
I did upgrade my camera. I went from an android to the new iPhone 13 pro max :)
I have that same reader, never had an issue
It’s work the same on super duty?
Please do a video with your super duty I hate double honk too
I have 37s on my tremor need to recalibrate speedometer and tires light on when air be low 65 psi and I run with 45f/40rear psi but light on now
Thank you
I believe it does work for the super duty, we have used it on the f150 before.
Sorry I might have missed your video on your lift what kind of lift and size to get 35s on your bronco
We have the 4wp leveling kit currently. The tires are the same size as on the Sasquatch, 315/70r17 and the wheels are 17x9 +30
I forgot, that hack only works on factory tow package, great video by the way. Valuable content!!!!!
Good point, I believe that Sport Mode also disables auto start stop. I have gotten in the habit of pressing the disable button each drive.
Great video!! I just did this to my OBX because I also put 35s on there. I got my speedometer to be accurate which is great! However, I now have a service error that says "Check 4x4". Any thoughts as to what might be going on there? Thank you!!
Have you done a relearn?
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV same here. How do you do a relearn? Thanks! 😁
I’m not sure, you could certainly try and see if it gives you the option.
The number of times “forscan” was said, my wife for sure thought I was watching something inappropriate around my daughter 😂. She said go watch that somewhere else
😂😂😂
Does it void the warranty?
I tried doing this and I keep getting error codes when i'm done. Servce 4x4, service charging system etc... When I load forscan it says my adapter cable isn't the correct one. I have the exact same one as you. I had to undo everything and clear my dtc's to make the error codes go away. I retried several times only to get more error codes.
There is a relearn process to reset the 4x4 system that may need to be completed.
I will grab the steps from our screenshots that we took.
I just went out and what I selected when I received the service 4x4 error was the AWD Module Initialization/relearn from Central Configuration
A pop up will come up that explains how the relearn corrects any mismatches between Vin, Tire Size and Axle Ratio. I start this with the engine running
I’m half way through it will have you turn the ignition off then back on without starting the engine and it will complete the relearn. Takes around 30 seconds.
Would this also be applicable to bronco sport BB?
I’m not sure about that
Just came back from offroading where after I started my car again on the trail the service 4x4 and check engine light came on. This prevented me from shifting from 2H to 4H or 4L. I just restarted the car and it went away and everything worked. I'm sitting here with the scanner and it says the code is with the AWD module and that it exceeded the relearn limit. Anyone got a solution?
Great vid... are these things that you can request the dealer do before pickup?
I am not sure if they would?
Depends on the dealer
Thanks guys. I just did this today to my 21 Bronco OB. I changed all 3, and it worked as you stated, but now I have a "check 4x4" wrench light on and Ford Pass says I have a Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. Any ideas on why it caused that and how to correct it? Thanks again.
Yes, it’s an easy fix, you have to Go in and do the relearn. Let me get the steps and I will send it to you
I figured it out. I had to go back in and update the PCM to learn the new tires as well.
Perfect, i just was getting ready to respond with what to do!
@@chrissousanh any idea why when I go to PCM Module initialization relearn, it gets an error at 2% saying Service Procedure Interrupted?
Won't let me complete the relearn and I have the wrench light after upping the tire size.
Hmm… I’m not sure, let me research and see if I can figure it out.
I don’t own a bronco but can you replicate the same thing you just did on this video on a 2014 Ford focus? I’ve dabbled with FORSCAN once but I was wondering if it’s better to have the vehicle running while editing the features? My worry is having a dead battery with the car off lol
You have to have the ignition on to make changes. I think this device is compatible with the focus, but I am not 100% sure.
I have a 2022. Is that why my only modules are 4 labeled “PCM?”
I will take a look when we get home tonight. I recall that if I did not have the engine running all of the modules would not appear. Also if I started on MS or HS it would show differently.
Does using forscan void my factory warranty
Thanks for the detailed video! Question, how do you save the original files and how do you upload them if you want to go back to the original settings?
Thanks!
I cannot recall the exact process by memory but will connect it later today and report back with the steps.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Thanks!
I've heard that you might get error codes after you change tire circumference, and you have to get certain modules to "re-learn" the new value. Did you encounter this on your Outer Banks?
We did not but we do know how to do a relearn, did you run into this problem?
Another informative video. Thanks again. You guys rock!
Thank you!
It tricks the car into thinking it’s wheels are turned, we are not sure how that effects the safety measures of the Bronco so have decided against it.
Why the change from Pickens Party of Five?

Great video and good warning on how the FORscan auto start/stop function works. This is a somewhat unrelated question to your build, but FORscan related. I am getting my Bronco with the modular bumper, which eliminates the fog lights. I plan on getting something in there and wonder if you know if the fog light switch is still part of the light switch assembly and just disabled so it can be turned on via FORscan, or do they put in a different assembly on models without fog lights?
I do not know the answer to that, but I will try to find the answer for you.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Thank you! You're awesome!
From what I've read on the forums and seen in the Forscan codes, the wiring is there, you just need to buy a fog light headlight switch assembly and activate it in Forscan
Great video I also like having my fog lights on for cornering I think they help.
Yes! It helps light the area directly in front of the vehicle not just the distance the high beams provide.
Thanks,
Mark
Let me see if I can find the website with the factory “As Build” specific for the vehicle’ a VIN.
We had to redo this process since the video was posted and the second time we also had errors populate. We were able to clear them by completing the relearns.
Thank you. You need the VIN or I will need it to get the as built once you find the website.
Did you use Forscan to clear the codes? Have similar problem with my.
Did you add Baja or Rock crawl goat mode?
No, we are a little weary of adding any goat modes, besides appearing as a option I am not sure we would see a benefit. Most of the goat modes are simply quick ways to lock the lockers and move into either 4H or 4L along with throttle and transmission mapping and possibly sta-bar disconnect. Since we do not have factory lockers I am not sure that we would see a benefit based on our Bronco specs.
Hi PP5, any new videos coming out using Forscan soon? Just got my license and software setup. Cable comes tomorrow. I will be doing a few changes over the weekend :)
Maybe after the weekend, we haven’t had much time to mess with it since this video
Good video
Thank you
Why did you have to go from ms back to hs mid video before modifying the program? I don’t think you explained the reasoning
Does the forscan require surgical removal?
😂😂😂
Nor recommended as an adult
Great info. Thank you 👍
You’re welcome!
Can you do seatbelt alarm too?
Yes, that is another simple chime to disable.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV nice to turn that off, when I’m driving slow, off road, or on property,
