      @heatherhudson2796 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Addict 3 years in recovery here too- that actually attended family treatment court- and this is absolutely insane to me. 90 days clean you’d be LUCKLY to even have 1 hour unsupervised for real. Luckily for me, my supervisor was my mom and she was also the temporary guardian which made it much easier. But if there was even the slightest issue- no matter how insignificant- they would knock your time down to damn near nothing and you would start your phase all over again. I didn’t have a single overnight with them until I was 10 months clean and that was with 0 setbacks. Washington’s family court is insane. When this woman relapses, and she likely will considering what we’ve seen, that’s only going to further damage these girls. She’s only clean for them and CPS. As you and I know, that’s not enough. You have to want it for yourself or it simply doesn’t work. And she’s made it very clear that she’s only interested in the younger two. This is just freakin sad.

      This is what happens when judges play musical chairs. This is Judge Karmy's first time hearing this case and she's already changing recently ruled orders. During the last 2 1/2 months of sobriety, mom came up with every excuse to not exercise her visitation rights and complain about her income because her children were removed from her care. Now she's picking which kid she wants back. SMH I don't trust this mom AT ALL. Some parents are require clean hair follicle tests of 6+ months before being granted in person visits. All this mom is doing is UAs and the only reason there are so many is because she's in drug court and they're watching her like a hawk.

    I cannot possibly relate. I will never understand "mothers" like this. How can you literally turn your back on your flesh and blood - that precious life you carried and birthed - and they don't matter enough for you to do what is required for you to be an intricate part of their lives in every way and on every level NO MATTER WHAT has happened or what you've been through. Life happens - people make mistakes - but the court system, as flawed as it is, lays a road map for you clear as day on how to right those wrongs and get back to your babies, REGARDLESS of how old they are. This is so foreign to me. Shame on her.
    Edit: after watching the whole thing, I’m hoping mom stays on the path she’s on, and the two parents continue to work better together for the sake of the kids.

    Not a case I was personally involved in, but one of my associates (now junior partner) had a local couple who fostered an infant from the day it (using the word IT, to not possibly identify the people or the child) was born. The birth mother was, and is unfit to be in control over a pet rock, and fought the adoption of the child tooth and nail. The judges in the case were SOOOO lenient, and permitted the birth mother to disrupt hearings, miss deadlines, and file GARBAGE the day of hearings, no show for hearings, be brought to hearings (and zoom) from TWO different state prisons. The foster parents held firmly and continued to fight for THEIR child. More than SEVEN years, birth mother did not complete a single thing on the reunification plan that the fifth judge implemented over objections from the foster parents, judge, after judge, pushed the hearing dates back. Over and over, a judge would order a FINAL hearing, and birth mother would sometimes appear, and have a handful of motions to file that were well past the filing date, and sometime she would no-show, and the foster parents would get an order only for the order to be stayed allowing birth mother to make more frivolous motions. FINALLY, a judge from out of the county was appointed to the case (because birth mother had filed complaints on the others, and made accusations, to where they would recuse). The appointed judge called ALL parties in, and told EVERYONE that they WOULD have all final pleadings, and motions, on his desk in 30 days, and this matter was going to be resolved. The birth mother, as usual, did nothing, and on the hearing day, the appointed judge, started the hearing and birth mother requested a continuance, which the judge denied, she then said that she had motions she had not had time to file, the judge disallowed them, she started with the waterworks, and the judge told her that he had a wife, four daughters, and seven granddaughters, and tears have no effect on him. Throughout the hearing, the birth mother complained that she was being "steamrolled" (she used the term dozens of times). The hearing took three hours, and at the end the judge ordered termination of parental rights and granted the adoption by the foster parents. Birth mother threw a screaming fit and started throwing items at the judge. She was arrested and charged (that charge heard by another judge) and the judge told her that she had 30 days to appeal his decision, and advised her that the 30 day limit was FINAL, so if she wanted to appeal she would need to FILE that within the 30 days time limit. After 90 days, the judge officiated over the adoption of the child. The birth mother found out about the hearing and showed up with the request for appeal. The judge told her that her 30 day time limit had passed. Birth mother said that it was a extraordinary circumstance which permitted 90 days. The judge said 90 days was up last week, I waited for the extraordinary circumstance appeal time to expire before I permitted the adoption. All in all, the parents fought for more than seven years and paid over $100,000 in legal costs (the bulk was paid for by the county). The only good news was that birth mother that had sworn to not give them a moment's peace for "stealing her baby" (she told the court that the child was five years old, when she was seven), months later committed the felony that made her a habitual offender, so that when she is first eligible for release, the child will be 33 years old.

    The amount of public assistance and resources being consumed in this matter is absolutely staggering (I’d estimate $750,000 minimum to this point, it’s been years). Consider the Court, CPS, GAL, PCAP, Drug Court, welfare/social security, foster care, counseling services, long term treatment programs, food stamps, public housing, lawyers in her criminal cases (multiple), etc. The cost is on the public, not the “people” who brought these poor kids into the world (four with these two parents, I heard six (?) in the home). Will these children continue this cycle given all the damage this woman does? 84 days is nothing for a long term relapsing addict. This case will be back, won’t take long.

    1:09:32 they were here for the GAL report. I guess the judge just wanted GAL time because she didn’t even get to go over it. Good grief. This frustrated me. I get he has a lot of cases but come on. It’s just waste of tax payers dollars. I’m frustrated. Then he forgets that there is a RO.

    Seriously she gets every weekend on 84 days sober 😂 that's a joke bro. Judge should be thinking about THE GIRLS not " mother" just FYI I lost my kids twice I have 8.5 years clean from a 20 year herion and other drugs clean. I went thru drug court i did mental health court and aa na and I can tell u no way is she ready have them every weekend she is talking about having the guy who isn't the 2 yr olds father but was there to have contact already wanting to confuse that baby even more. smh I am.all for women supporting women but this judge is ridiculous she is focused on the mom way more then the little girls truly disgusting

      Yes! I was creeped out about that too! I couldn't believe when I heard her spitting on about some guy who wanted to come hang out, that the daughter knows him like her father. If that was the case, why didn't the real dad pipe up and tell the judge that the guy was okay? Probably because he was too busy running his neck at the chick in the car with him. Regardless, the "mom" in this case was using all the newly sober and in-treatment buzzwords, sh!t us addicts learn that our counselors, judges, the cops, love to hear, and once we learn how much better they think we are by using those terms, we tend to latch on to saying them---only thing different about this ditch-pig is that she really just sounded just as ignorant as she did BEFORE drug court! And, did you see her gut from the side? Holy WOW! I would have taken her drug of choice to be 211's with a Hurricane chaser! 😂
      But, in all seriousness, good for you, getting clean from the dirt is no joke. I've only had to kick about 700 times myself before it stuck. And thank God because with this fentanyl business, I know I'd fall on love with it, and be dead.

    I really like Ms. Turnbull. She's super smart and is really good at her job...and she's really pretty too 😊
    This mom...it's hard for me on this one. I know addiction first hand, and I'm an addiction counselor as well. So I know how hard it is to be wrapped up in the court system while trying to get clean and do the right thing. It's SO hard. So much stress, which is so triggering in early recovery. Where I'm torn is how disrespectful she is at certain times. She constantly interrupts and even cursed at the judge. That's not okay. I understand being frustrated when you have to clean up a mess that your own addiction caused, but you can't take that frustrating or in other people...especially if they are trying to help you.

To praise a drug addict for being clean a short period of time and watching the mom addict manipulate the system. She pretends not to understand the system or orders and Judges play into it. 28:33 I feel like her posture really tells us a lot. The one time I’ve been in court, to serve on jury, I was sure to present myself as politely and respectfully as I could. The improper posture even when talking, the tone she takes… it reveals a lot and no matter how emotionless we think judges should be, we’re all humans - and the judges will feel a certain way about her behavior.

  • @OkkenBomm
    @OkkenBomm หลายเดือนก่อน

    System is quite vulnerable when the judge that is the sole administrator of drug court also is administrator in family court, as both types of cases tend to last over longer periods and quite a lot of family court cases also involves drug court for one of both parents, hence family cases get juggled around between different administrators. System would be less vulnerable with at least two administrators in drug court.
