Yes me too! That’s where we got the idea of making the mock apple pie, and then it’s so easy to build upon it more with other books and printables/projects!

That was such an awesome idea to combine your literature and history together !!! I love it 😍!!! I think I am going to have to put The Mighty Miss Malone on my wish list once we get to the Great Depression in our history too. ❤

It’s so natural to just build on the literature. And I can do this with so many of the books we are going to be reading! The Mighty Miss Malone is a great book!

I don’t know how I missed this video. This book is going on our reading list.

This looks so great!!! Is this where the depression apple pie came from?

The mock apple pie idea came from Lightning Literature, but I looked up the recipe online :)

Yes we started the year with Beowulf and Brave Writer, but my daughter missed Lightning Literature which was the program we used last year, so we went back to it. :)

What did your daughter like/dislike about Beowolf Grammar? We are considering taking a break from LL to do Beowolf Grammar and use individual novel studies/lit guides for Literature, and Layers of Learning Writer’s Workshop for comp. But I don’t want to switch to something wishing we were back with LL. Also, did your daughter do Level 4, and if so, did she like it (we are on Level 3 right now).
