I love how you’ve separated your channels now Summer. These types of videos are more what I’m looking for as an average consumer, since I’m not a hairstylist. I know you did them before too, but I like having them in one place separate from your hair cutting videos. Hopefully this channel will grow in no time!
I have a long platinum pixie cut. I tried the entire Olaplex line for years with only marginal results. I switched to the Redken Acidic Bonding system and added the K18 every other week. It transformed my hair. It’s shiny and has stopped breaking off. The Olaplex line has 9 products which gets expensive at $30 each. Because I need fewer products the Redken/K18 line is actually cheaper. Thank you so much for your reviews.
Agreed. Never got great results with olaplex even though I followed the instructions. There is no real science to back them up for all we know their secret ingredient could be a scam.
Fine hair with dry ends. Agree about Olaplex shampoo and conditioner for fine hair. I love Redken’s shampoo and conditioner and some of the other products. But also love and will never be without the Olaplex oil!
I am so glad to have found your channel! I have fine thin grey hair and love the knowledge you have and your willingness to address my type of hair!! I instantly love you!!❤ looking forward to all of your videos!!
I have gray hair that I’m trying to grow long. Not colored, but can be dry and chalky. I’m trying all of these, will use in rotation to repair normal wear & tear, and help fix weak ends underneath, which are shredded where I used to wear a tight ponytail (before I cared, lol!). Just tried the Redken after a diluted ACV rinse.
I have thick, coarse aging hair that was damaged by hard water, too many products and too much heat. We cut it off and I've changed my ways. Tried all the Olaplex products and only ended up liking the oil which i still use. The K18 was a game changer for me. I noticed a difference right away. My ends still are a bit dry so I do a trim every 6 weeks with my root coverage. Can't decide if I like the K18 oil or the Olaplex better. My hair soaks up the oils so I need a good one. Love your channel.
I used Olaplex 0+3 on extremely damaged hair for 9 months (color correction from very dark brown to 6) and it did absolutely nothing for my hair, it was a waste of money and a lot of time. The mask 8 is not good either. I really love 6 paired with 7 (it leaves my hair very soft and hides all the damage caused, it only hides, no treatment) Yesterday I first time used K18 leave in mask, and I can see improvement in my hair. Thank you for the video, I will also try the Acidic concentrate treatment and leave in.
I had to cut my hair off into a pixie cut due to bleach damage, no amount of olaplex and k18 worked well enough due to the high damage, so now I just stick to dark brown and black, and use Olaplex 3, and the shampoo, conditioner and oil. I tried the redken leave in which was ok but too light for me. I much prefer the Olaplex 6 and 7 which are my favourite leave in treatments.
My fine thin hair is overall healthy. I haven’t coloured it in almost six years and I only heat style for special occasions. I’m about 50% grey and my hair is very fragile. I’m at my wits end trying to grow it long with all the breakage! What I need is strengthening and maintenance! I’ve tried k18 and olaplex in the past with minimal results. I thought maybe it’s because my hair isn’t chemically damaged but realize it may have been user error, along with me being kinda rough on my hair (tight ponytails, over brushing etc) Couple months ago I repurchased k18 treatment and the olaplex 8 mask. I also use a clarifying shampoo more often as I have hard water. So far I’m noticing less frizz and less breakage!
I have color treated hair. I mainly color my whole head every 9 months but I do my gray roots every 3/4 weeks depending. I use professional products without PPD, Resorcinol etc as I am allergic. It’s harder to keep my mature long dry course hair looking good. I do incorporate some of these tips and products already and it helps. I rarely heat style because I choose hair dye instead. What else, I use hair oils before and after I wash my hair and that helps a lot as well.
Utube...rice water spray roots. Thicker, longer hair. Trim ends. Massage rice water on scalp. Use weekly. Don't give up. Patient. Try 2 months weekly. Good luck. Don't add any other ingredients.
Useually people make complaints about products and will have a whole other hairline companie they say there hair is falling out or serious burns and where they bought the product from and they say maybe someone is trying to get someone hurt its alot but can get the company to change the ingredients quickly i know this from experience had a favorite curly cream and a friend i knew stole new creams i just got and made a complaint on the line multiple times found them in her house she hair is straight end of story they changed the whole line of product and ingredients got rid of it immediately in a matter of like 2 months the new product i tryed and its not the same and its extremely fustraiting to find a new curl cream or product that gets the job done

I actually use k18 mask and the olaplex 0 and 3 together. I use the Olaplex 0/3 before showering or getting styled and then the k18 after shampoo. I googled it and the site said to do this. My stylist also did these steps and K18 advises to use conditioner after the mask. I’m thinking about adding Kendra leave- in. I’m interested in the recken.
Hi Summer! My hair needs - I find I can relate to the example of healthy on top but find the bottom to ends very dry. This was very helpful to me! Thank you Summer 😊💕
Well it is definitely not healthy, but it is not fully noodle like. I have been struggling to find a routine to get it back healthy and growing. used to have good hair up until a year ago, went thru some high stress and also I believe damaged it from a blow dryer, where I believe had probably boiled my hair. Anyway, I am the point now, where I am having some pieces/bottom pieces of hair break off at times, and then if you do a slight stretch test, it will stretch and stay where stretched to, and or sometimes just break, also have pieces of hair that are just fly away/an some just dead looking (it almost feels to light) any suggestions on product or what my hair may need, hair dressers I have been to seem to be baffled and just look at me like I am silly. I do have fine hair straight for the most part hair, maybe a slight s curve and finding it difficult to hold a style. One day it seems to be almost soft and fuzzy and another day to dry an breaking yikes.... I have been told protein, then Im told moisture and I am so confused on all products because almost all products have protein Needing to find a good balance and routine I do believe I need a silk cap or something because i sleep on my back and finding the top in back getting shorter and shorter
I’m going to do a treatment of the redken acidic bonding on my niece who has ruined her hair 😣 my question is when I follow up with a mask can I just use the mask I have on hand? (‘It’s A Ten’ purple and blue original mask) or INNERJOI strength building mask by joico ? Or should I buy a redken mask for follow-up? Tia Love your channels! 🎉
Slightly different question I hope you can help with, please. I had my level 5 hair highlighted, to a level 9. I decided I wanted to go back dark so I used 5n pem dye from Goldwell, with a 10% developer, However, my highlights after one wash are starting to show again, what did I do wrong? Thank you. ❤
You have to "fill" the hair first. Because the highlights are lighter with less pigment in color they require an extra step in order to help the desired color to hold. So if they were a level 9 you would want to add a semi permanent neutral warm shade in a level 7 first. Process, rinse and then apply your actual color.
If you like an oil, I would do either the K18 Oil amzn.to/3OrVSar , Redken Oil for All amzn.to/44gbp33 is another great option and a lower price point. If you like a spray I love Moroccan Oils Perfect Defense amzn.to/45ogUxz !
I have extremely bad breakage on one side of my hair. I have been using the the redken extreme range, shampoo, conditioner, anti snap treatment and the mask. I has made my hair much healthier but still hasnt stopped the breakage, just on the left side. I was thinking of adding the redken acidic bonding pre wash and the leave in treatment. What are your thoughts? Also if i was to use the pre wash treatment weekly, how many weeks would you suggest using it for. And how long would a bottle last?
To be honest I've never tried K18, but I use Olaplex. I use their new clarifying shampoo 2x a month and then I use the Olaplex #2 afterwards. I only use the shampoo and conditioner if my hair is newly colored or blonded. And I never use it long. My hair is over all healthy. I only had 2 trims. And my hair still feels amazing since 2 months ago after getting highlights. I also only wash my hair 3 times a week , unless I sweat really bad. I've tried the Redken acidic repair line before. I love how the shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel and I have thick hair. ❤❤
@@SummerBeautyc yeah, but my hair is fluffy and puffs out all the time since cutting my hair short. I can't stand it 😭 especially the way it looks when I wake up in the mornings. I have fits over it all the time. I'm never cutting my hair short again. 😂
I have very thin hair. K18 leaves it heavy. The redkin pre treatment works wonders! My hair was damaged from extensions. It felt like I had no hair at all. Now I’m trying to get it to grow long again by using redkin and the Olaplex oil. For the rest is my hair healthy. Am I doing it right? Can I do better?
My hair stylist left a keratin treatment in my hair and now my hair is falling from the root I washed it after a week and it’s stopped falling but it’s chemically damaged. Please what can I use or do
