LOVE your video (especially the parts featuring your kids). I played trombone professionally for 40 years. Then I had two surgeries on my left shoulder. Also had to get my left bicep muscle reattached. This made it very painful to play in the trombone section of my community big band. Well, not anymore! The pBone has allowed me to get back in the "swing" of playing. My section mates can't really tell any difference in the sound between my pBone and my cherished 1940 King Liberty (handed down to me by my father who played professionally for decades). Your video helped me to pull the trigger (oh, wait! There's no trigger on this horn) and make the purchase. Thanks again for your video.
pBoneUK Video sounds like it was designed as commercial, but as pBone player I have to agree. I could NEVER use a brass trombone in my jazz project, since I work with 3 instruments (also trumpet & clarinet) - it would be too much weight. I cycle to my performance locations and bring not just 3 horns, but also a mini-PA with too small Bose speakers. We live in an interesting time. :)
I have a Pbone, and she is right, it is an excellent practice horn. Plus, I started noticing something the other day. I was playing my silver King and after I finished, in my old age, my left hand was really in pain, and was trying to lock up on me. I can hold the Pbone all day and it doesn't hurt a bit. Of course not everyone is going to have that problem but for those of us who do, Pbone is a great way to still play and not kill your hands! Although I would switch to my King when it counts.
Use plain vaseline to lubricate the p-Bone slide - it doesn't react with the various plastics like other lubricants. You still need to do slide-care every time after playing, just like Bill W. recommends, emptying out water, then cleaning off any residues and replacing the lubricant before putting the instrument away.
I broke one by leaving it in the trunk. I broke another, trying to tighten the bell onto the slide section. Another one arrived with a chunk of the bell missing. I gave my last one to a friend. Metal is the Way...
Women who play brass are awesome. Stay away from those reed players though. They're up to some sketchy stuff. Anyone who can use all ten fingers at once like that can't be trusted.
I really want to own one but I'm having a problem. I've seen a brass one cost only 100$ and the pbone cost 160$. I want to get pbone but too expensive for my budget and the brass one I might break it in no time because metal and I'm kinda careless person.
Thanks you have a rael t-bone sound ,, one thing i was going to say before the stair slide drag is can some get them.to make abetter slide action i would pay more ,, ,
I’ve seen these in middle schools and the teachers tell me they wont buy them anymore because they are all broken after a few years. My point is they are not indestructible. I do own one though and I love it.
EpicMeh it can be good but of course it's tricky. After years of practice I am able to play with an airy, almost woodwind-like tone and it sounds great
The p-Bone: lighter to hold, so my arm aches less, but the standard grip position is bigger and makes my hand ache more, so I have to use an alternative hand position. Harder work to blow, so it strengthens the chops more if you use it for practicing. Has a less penetrating sound, more like a woodwind instrument - an alto sa*o*ho*e maybe. I want to try and use that gentler, more intimate sound, but know that people who ask me to play the trombone at all really want the immediacy, hard edge and attack the (metal) instrument of that name is known for, and undoubtedly offers, so sadly, the p-Bone stays in the cupboard.
Do you ever play with a clip on microphone?. I'm thinking the fact it doesn't resonate as much will give less feedback. Maybe even use effects processor pedals like a guitar player. Thoughts? I know being miked like a vocalist brass is better, but being a defacto electronic instrument because the keys and everything else is impossibly louder, do you think the pbone would be like a solid body guitar vs a hollow? Every demo I've seen hasn't even shown the microphone.
@Juan José Perez Ibarra I’ve Just listed it your trombone videos they sound good. Just a wee tip is don’t look at the camera when you are playing just concentrate on the music

Finally, a review from someone that knows how to play.
Oh yes man, finally
yeah, that baby really knows what he’s doing! Great review by him!
What reviews are you watching
I loved watching your son drag the slide down the steps like that. Just great!
Adorable video. You play well and I enjoyed listening to you. With your example, I am looking forward to checking out the Pbone. thanks.
Very humorous video. I had to laugh when the kid focused on the pbone.
This is the perfect review, love and thanks!!!
Best test for a practice trombone I have ever seen!
I kept getting Amazon ads for these. Now I feel I need one.
the side by side (slide by slide) demonstrates the difference in tone very well.
but does it play in your right ear?
I had the same question lol. I thought my headphones broke for a second.
That’s actually really weird
For real
The Most God Bless you, I am very excited to see this video
AWESOME!!!
Great video Jen, thank you!

+Galante Welt demais!
I noticed that she was using a metal mouthpiece on the P-Bone; improved the sound quite a bit.
Nothing beats the traditional trombone though
her golden mouthpiece is more than the trombone XD

I love my pbone for jazz

John Yate it's worth it.
This is great!!
I think her body language and facial expressions when she says she likes it tells all.
Please 🙏 give me answer
Hey this was an awesome demo! great job.
I broke one by leaving it in the trunk. I broke another, trying to tighten the bell onto the slide section. Another one arrived with a chunk of the bell missing. I gave my last one to a friend. Metal is the Way...
It super affordable too.
Musicians are weird. But a good weird.
spir1t7 Well if they weren't, music would all sound the same wouldn't it?
Cesar Cortez as in, social interaction weird
just trombone players. If a trombone player seems sane they have some dark secrets. Trust me its part of the job requirement.
Magical Midget Pete is right. Never look in the trunks/boots of our cars 😈
Hey guys, forget the pBone for a minute. This is the kind of woman you want to marry.
Women who play brass are awesome.
Stay away from those reed players though. They're up to some sketchy stuff.
Anyone who can use all ten fingers at once like that can't be trusted.
Agreed! (and I did)
Hilarious!

What would be earliest recommended age for a curious kid to start discovering and playing pBone?
I’ve seen these in middle schools and the teachers tell me they wont buy them anymore because they are all broken after a few years. My point is they are not indestructible. I do own one though and I love it.
is this a paid review
It is not. I have no affiliation with the pbone folks.
what are the inner and outer slide dimensions?
shit im late to the party
You are study my music trombone
The air is louder than the music
1:15 that boy though
What would be your recommendation for a metal mouthpiece replacement? Just ordered my Pbone, about to begin my trombone journey!
Suddenly I caught myself thinking about Linus and Charlie Brown...
Anyone know of a comparison between these and those Kaizer trombones? Both plastic
it's great musician skill, and funny video with nice childrens! and I'm interested what microphone are You use?
Shure SM57
You have a cool airy tone when you play
Erwin Delarmente her tone sucks tbh
Sockem are you deaf or stupid?
I thought airy was bad
EpicMeh it can be good but of course it's tricky. After years of practice I am able to play with an airy, almost woodwind-like tone and it sounds great
Sockem huh interesting

I bet the moutpeice is bendable
IT IS A PLASTIC TROMBONE
i got subtitles when they played. Dafaq?

I have the same exact mute as you!
Magkano yan pbone
How does the slide feel
TheJediMonkey probably like a super soaker with motor oil in it
I'm sorry but has that kid played trombone before cause when I hand someone who hasnt played before a trombone they dont sound that good
Nice sales pitch. I know some musician who can pluck bedsprings and bang on plastic buckets to make top notch music.
And it sounds like mudd. Go brass
Perfect for use in the shower!!
She was probably paid
She wasn't. This was for a school project. Wife and kids are cheap labor.
It is not a horn it is eb trombone
@Juan José Perez Ibarra a alto trombone is a bit smaller than her’s but a adult phone so it’s a Bb but plastic
@Juan José Perez Ibarra I’ve Just listed it your trombone videos they sound good. Just a wee tip is don’t look at the camera when you are playing just concentrate on the music
@Juan José Perez Ibarra my son wants to me a music teacher and he plays trombone aswell
:0 I played recorders not a trombone.
Don't play with the mouthpiece that give you it's too small
Andrew Wallace i have the same name as you
Andrew Wallace lol
Trombone is a second instrument for me.
I'm a trumpet player.
I like the smaller mouthpiece. Go figure. :-)
Who is this woman
Im trying not to be obvious but i think this is sponsered
It is not sponsored. The video was for a school project.
Can sound great, but even more dependent on the skill of the player than a cheap brass horn. If you sound bad you'll be abysmal on this thing
I audibly said ew when I heard the pbone, it doesn't even sound good.
