I appreciate Alpha's pettiness all the more from the perspective of this video. It's clear it is all in good fun, and Jan got a kick out of it. I have to admit, watching the video originally felt a little flat. Didn't feel like it was for me. But watching it as Jan reacted to it, I had a grin plastered on my face. I felt the love. The petty petty love.
Personally I enjoyed the original video when I watched it. Because that's Alpharad for ya, the content. If anything while watching I felt like it was meant to make Jan laugh, and I knew that he'd get a kick out it. So it made it funnier to me, and then actually seeing Jan react to it heightened that funny factor because his reaction is exactly what I expected.
Jan is part of the Alpha extended universe officially now. Welcome to Hell Mr. Nuzlocke, and may the heart of the cards be in your favor (Spoiler: They won't be)
This legitimately feels like the end of a chapter. What with Jaiden doing her final nuzlocke and Alpharad with his "Perfect Nuzlocke". It really brings a sense of satisfaction, like finishing a good book. Good job Jan, your presence brought a lot to these videos. To more great videos in the future!
Jan has single handedly contributed to my supposed laziness when it comes to nuzlockes. I was talking to my friend who is doing a nuzlocke and I really had a disconnect when they reacted to me saying TMs and leveling aren't a big deal because I just hack in infinite money and use rare candies. And they went, "so you cheat?" I was really like what do you mean you don't do that? But it really saves so much time. I mean I get EVs are important but I don't want to mindlessly grind for hours. I just use the infinite money to buy the vitamins and just give two stats +100 and the rest is just a happy coincidence. I feel like that is just the optimum way to play any nuzlocke. Instead of grinding and dying to some wild pokemon using explosion on you or criting you as you zone out after grinding for 2 hours.
i mean while it is personal preference at the end of the day its hard to argue killing wild pokemon over and over is a fun or engaging way to spend your time.
Personally I don't really enjoy hacking in candies and money when I play nuzlockes for myself for fun, though I do get that it skips some of the boring parts and don't shame anyone else for doing it. I just have more fun managing the somewhat limited exp (if you dont like grinding) while playing through the game and being forced to either have underleveled pokemon if I manage it poorly or have to fight 100 wild zubats as a backup plan. For jan and other content creators though, I feel like the biggest motivator is that the rare candy ruleset skips the boring part of the content creation and focuses more on the actual battles and decision making, which makes the content more fun to watch (especially for streaming)
I'm so happy Alpharad is finally getting the recognition he deserves!!! I've been following him for many years now, and it's nice to see a massive channel like yours give these smaller, more niche youtubers some time in the spotlight!!!
Jan: Wow I’m so amazed at Alpha’s scripts, one day I’ll be able to write scripts that appeal to emotions and feel satisfying !! Also Jan: yes of course nuzlockes should be devoid of emotion and entertainment
Man, it's so nice that Pokémon Challenges can help smaller content creators like Alpharad! In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure Jacob turned into a Team Rocket member.
@@actpianocover6329 Yeah but he does that at the endgame, where your team starts getting set in stone, and he can go "so what did you choose to bench". That's how I see it anyways.
Jan really is the Undertaker of the Pokemon community, isn't he? His next reaction video is just gonna start with a bunch of other Nuzlockers carrying and propping up a seemingly inocuous Pokemon PC, before those fateful funeral bells chime in. The PC then becomes engulfed in flames, to the shock of everyone watching. What's going on? The amateur nuzlocker lets off a bit on their smug Tuber persona, horror creeping across their face. Suddenly, Jan bursts out of said PC, with hatred in his heart and bloodlust in his eyes. The amateur nuzlocker is terrified. Jan is on a vengeance-fuel mission, and whatever poor sap he reacts to, they can only hope he doesn't drag them into the PC box himself _(This is real wrestling by the way, save for the Poke-YT elements. Survivor Series 2005)_
I love the message of the video tbh. Playing optimally ≠ the best way to play for everyone. Sure I could do what Enel says to do and build Xenoblade teams entirely around DPS and killing everything as fast as possible, but like… no. I like using healers in Xenoblade. I like making dumbass risky moves in Pokémon. It all comes down to what the player truly wants, rather than some definitive way to play a game. If everyone always used the best Pokémon and the best strats, everyone would be essentially the same. Whereas both Alpha and PChal manage to stand on their own as entirely separate creators thanks to their vastly different playstyles.
right thats why people are saying pokemon is too easy and they want a harder game because they play it in such a way its a cake walk. i mean a nuzlocke is already hard cheating in rare candies(which makes you lose effort values) and infinite money RUINs the difficulty your trying to have. the point of these games is to HAVE FUN. not to ruin it for yourself brag about it and shit all over other creators. in short Poke Challenge sucks
@MarkieUzumaki Oh no, I still think Pokémon is too easy. I just wish there was a difficulty option where opponents actually took advantage of the base mechanics.
@@thevioletbee5879 right but my point is I hate people like poke challenge the point of the game is suppose to to be fun and people like him ruin it. Sure there should be a difficulty setting I can get that opinion for me I think it’s fine as it is

Same, my neighbors probably thought I was a mad man laughing so hard lol
I don’t appreciate how relatable this is (exhale)
Using lol as a verb makes so much sense but it sounds so weird
Despite the roasting, the fact that you didn't fall for the "Thanks for unpausing" kinda makes you the real winner here
The funniest part about him pronouncing your name wrong is I remember him saying it correctly exactly once. He's just refusing to say it correctly out of spite.
It’s so nice that 2 small creators are helping each other out in the TH-cam algorithm!
I wouldn’t call Jan and Jacob small creators
What do you mean obviously Jan is kindly giving this no name a helping hand to jumpstart his career.
This is sarcasm if you couldn’t figure it out.

Can we talk about how Jan is literally just real life Ghetsis at this point? Literally manipulated Alpha into doing a nuzlocke the way he does it
TRUE
And i love it, the so-called villain should be victorious for once.
Imagine if someone made a romhack or fan game with Jan as the villian and Alpha as the player trying, and failing to stop Jan
We need a "buddy cop" soul link between those two. The whole world needs it...
TH-camrs having fun with each other like this is so good for their content and I’m all for it. I love this.
This back and forth between Jan and Alpha is genuinely hilarious and so entertaining, I love these nuzlockes
this video was a masterpiece, completely deconstructing one of my favorite genres and explaining the validity of playing either a normal nuzlocke or a hardcore one.
Jan's reaction when alpha put the cat ears back on was priceless
I love how Jan went from "the best nuzlocker" to "probably the best nuzlocker"

He couldn't exceed the Rival until he beat him

17:42 Respecting the fck out of that part over here.
*Jaiden:* I wasn't okay when Squoop died. I'm actually crying.
*Alpharad:* EMOTIONS who's she never heard of her.
When you think about it, Jan is basically the Order to Jacob's Chaos. A perfect dichotomy of two important halves.
To be fair he said that comedy dies when you try hard a game that hard
Honestly Alpharad's descent into madness in the original video was worth it on its own.
Jan is part of the Alpha extended universe officially now.
Welcome to Hell Mr. Nuzlocke, and may the heart of the cards be in your favor (Spoiler: They won't be)
The RNG won't save you now
This legitimately feels like the end of a chapter. What with Jaiden doing her final nuzlocke and Alpharad with his "Perfect Nuzlocke". It really brings a sense of satisfaction, like finishing a good book. Good job Jan, your presence brought a lot to these videos. To more great videos in the future!
"this part of the video is boring" while in the background alpharad becomes a full on super villain
This rivalry has got to be my favourite thing on youtube right now, its absolutely hilarious being a long time viewer of both channels.
You said it at the end... losing a mon to an explosion or arena trap.... thats just the risk you need for a true hard hardcore nuzlocke
i mean while it is personal preference at the end of the day its hard to argue killing wild pokemon over and over is a fun or engaging way to spend your time.
You know that you can hack in EVs with PKHeX, right?
Just play in whatever way is most fun for you
I'm so happy Alpharad is finally getting the recognition he deserves!!! I've been following him for many years now, and it's nice to see a massive channel like yours give these smaller, more niche youtubers some time in the spotlight!!!
I think that Onix is mentioned in every nuzlocke video from every content creator, and I love it.
No jokes I love how much Jan is visibly enjoying this
I love how you're dying from laughing in the first minute.
Alpharad is incredible and his new content is the best
I love how Jacob's voice sounds more and more insane the deeper into each nuzlocke video you get
This reaction video is gold. The moment where alpharad said: YOU ARE NOT SAFE FROM HIM, I cried from laughing. Fantastic reaction.
If anything, he became Team Rocket’s leader with this run lmao
Jan is the emperor slowly corrupting his padawan to be, turning him to the dark side
I love the idea that Jan lives rent-free in Alpharad's head.
I really like how there is a rivalry spawning between Pokemon Challanges, and a random guy from a unknown channel
Alpha really made the first real diss-locke video
Alpha: having an existential crisis about Pokémon
Jan: “he’s finally playing the game right!”
This is probably the most that Jan has laughed in a long time.
As someone who lived in Sweden for 5 years it cracks me up when Alpharad pronounces Jan’s name wrong.
"I can also only be funny when I'm bad at videogames" WOOOOOOW
GOT ME DYING XD
‘This small TH-camr’ what makes this even funnier is that he has more than twice the amount of subs as him lmao
Nearly quintuple
4:42 The fact that alpha blurred his PC pokemon so Jan can't analyze it 🤣
I think it was just to avoid spoiling his endgame team.
@@miwestraveler3986 nah... You know how much jan likes to analyze other nuzlocker's PC
@@actpianocover6329
Yeah but he does that at the endgame, where your team starts getting set in stone, and he can go "so what did you choose to bench".
We really need a Brock Lesnar than, someone who can win an Emerald Kaizo hardcore nuzlocke in less than 150 tries
This sounds so cringe but I love it
@@MikeTheEntei That's wrestling
@@donatsuobrasco3593 wolfey
Ahh, so this is the TH-cam comments cringe Jan was talking about!
and of course here's my contribution to the cringe-cause in the replies
Sure there should be a difficulty setting I can get that opinion for me I think it’s fine as it is
@MarkieUzumaki He enjoys the way he plays the game though. And others enjoy watching him do it. I don’t see a problem with that.
