Act III is good top to bottom- I don't recall any filler songs. IMO, it was a quantum leap from the first two albums- they matured and really started to hone their sound.

The first 3 87- 90 are classic trash Stage 2 2004, 2008 are middle ground with some of classic and the modern sound mixed together Stage 3 2010 to the present, last 4 album are super heavy, barn burners They just rip with the new modern sound For me I find I listen more to Stage 2 right now Could change ,who knows , liking everything that is Death angel Peace out brother , like your channel

And the best thrash albums to me were made in 1990. With the exception of Metallica and Anthrax and Slayer. They had already made their best out in the mid-to-late eighties. I guess out of the big three they all would stand out the most in the 1990s on seasons in the abyss by Slayer. But Sacred Reich the American way Exodus fabulous disaster all came out in 1990 I believe. But getting back to death angel yeah Frolic in the park would definitely be my second and then Ultraviolence and then jump all the way to 2019 in the Divide
Pretty much agree. !990 also had Suicidal- Lights Camera and Overkill Years of Decay. Act III fit right in with the mix and wasn't afraid to have some mellow elements to it.

The Art of Dying Act III will always be my sentimental favourite, but there is very little separating any of the rest from each other!

I played a compilation cd of Death Angel's first albums on my way to school today, the song Stop was on in the most intense part before the end while I was in the parking lot and a dude gave me the thumbs up👍😂
Haven't seen the Death Angel discography ranked like this before. My list would look quite different, but putting Frolic at #1 was ballsy. Unique takes.
Act 3 is the best album they ever made. After this release that's when I stop listening to them and I didn't really listen to DA again until the evil divide. The best three albums they made are act lll, Frolic through the park, Ultra violence& evil divide my top four .....in that order!
Other than being shocked that The Evil Divide is last and Frolic is 1, I'm not far off. I'd probably swap Killing Season and The Art as well. But these guys are amazing. If I had to rank the elite 8(Big 4, testament, DA, exodus, overkill), DA would probably be 5, if not higher. It's hard to say they'd surpass any particular band of the 4, but I think they're at least as talented as any of them. Who knows what might have been if they didn't have that accident that really fucked them up and put them out of commission for a while. I think Mark's vox are among the very best in thrash, and Rob is just an amazing writer, riffed and soloist.

I think they have 3 different stages

Act III is my favorite too. The first two had some good songs but didn't click with me. I need to check out their newer stuff.
I think they are all so close. Production was more raw on first 2 but not nearly as heavy but more natural, heaviness vs organic rawnes.
