I appreciate your vulnerability Eli, and your willingness to laugh at yourself and your mistakes. That race won’t have the last laugh, and you’re a better runner today than you were on the start line… there is no failure, only learning 😊
That fueling is such an art, always find it interesting watching the elites through to us (very) average runners try to navigate it. Bummer the stars didn't align but thanks for taking us with you guys. Oh and that shoe change holy hell 😅
Love the videos! "Shuffling" it in for the 12th fastest time in history is pretty amazing! I've heard of many runners with "sloshing" stomachs when using any drink mix, and having to go to plain water at those higher speeds. Good luck at CIM!
Ha to be fair the times of the past didn't have super shoes! On courses like this(super fast) I don't think it's fair to compare with older times anymore. Thanks for watching!!!
Sorry the race didn’t go as you would have liked, but love that you both have such great attitudes! These races are so stinkin’ fast! You both are amazing 🤩
As a non elite who treats aid stations at pit stops, I'm seriously impressed with that shoe change! If I can't do a sub 6 miles, at least maybe I can do a sub 8 shoe change.
Awesome run. And welcome to the Beast Coast. The jfk 50 miler is known as a fast ultra. There are way tougher ultras in the virginia area. Good luck in your training block.
Great job on the video and the run! Love following your stories. Can’t wait for CIM!
Thanks for the support! We are so excited about CIM too!

Thanks Hunter!
love this channel and both your missions
Thanks so much! We appreciate the support!

Fueling is a constant game, especially for longer races! I'm excited to spend more time figuring it out! Thanks for watching!

You'll come back in two years and run sub 5 on 120g of carbs!
Thank you two for putting out this amazing content :)
Aw! Thanks for watching!!! haha i don't know about sub 5 but I would love to take a whack at sub 5:05

Thank you 🙏 We’re just trying to enjoy the process, win or lose.
Good seeing you guys! Maybe I'll see you at the next one 🤪
Haha I think you will

Don’t worry. I made some pit stops at later aid stations 😂
Shuffling it in for a 5:33 is nasty 🥵 a good day here is going to be scary fast!
Thanks Corrine!
Cool video
Thank you my dear friend Eric!

😂 ya I don’t think any other race on the east coast would I be swapping to road shoes. Any recommendations on good races in the East?
@TheHemmingsrun The Bull Run 50 miler. That would definitely test your will.
No one ever changed to super shoes until Seth ruhling did it.
Oh I didn’t know that! It would almost be crazy not to with shoe tech these days
Where do you get your laces from??
I just picked mine up at the Fleet Feet in Boulder. I think Nathan makes these ones. Nothing special
My Daughter did the race and said the wind was just horrible the whole 50 miles...It was her 1st 50 miler as well and placed 6th overall female.
The wind was very strong that day! but that is awesome! Tell her congratulations for us!!
@@TheHemmingsrun I will and great job to you as well.
Let's just say that my first 50mi was....not that fast. Nice work!
Run the race NOT the record, that was the first mistake. A bit of humble pie never tastes good but food for the future. ✌
If there is one thing that ultra running is good for, it's knocking down the ego a bit 😂 Thanks for the comment!
You can sleep well knowing that nobody on the planet was going to beat Sinclair on that day. Everyone else was racing for 2nd
haha as a competitor of his I can't believe that. BUT he did have a phenomenal day!
@ He set a high mark for you to shoot for in the future 😊
