I need to pull out the first kit I bought and see how well I upgraded it. It has been quite a while. Thank you for the review, Threads. Stay safe and stay cool
That’s a lot of water pouches and food bars. Most of the contents are usable and I agree with you on upgrading the knife and adding a water filter and bottle kit.
Any shelter you take aside from a mobile home or The Alamo is going to turn you into a Hot Pocket for predators so..... All joking aside, i don't know I'd try putting two adults into one emergency tent after having seen a few with condensation problems. I might consider cutting it to make one big space blanket that could be made into a lean to. A decent fire would generate enough heat to be reflected on to you with it.
Yeah a tent isn't any safer from a bear or big cat lol With the added duct tape you could make a great large reflective shelter from these easy enough. Update vid with added and subtracted items soon.
With the food and stuff it's not bad but not great. I can see why this is a 5 star on Amazon with the masses though. Has way more for the money than most.
@@AtwoodThreads that is true! Although they could have easily thrown in some full size ponchos and something like the small envelope sleeping bag like the one my local Walmart carries. But then they are simple enough to upgrade!

Where’s the duct tape??
They almost always forget the duct tape. I made many flat packs of it that I through in most all kits.
I Guess something instead of nothing is a bonus

Maybe as a starting point for sure. Just a woman's point of view. By the way, I prefer a fixed blade.
I for sure prefer a fixed blade.
Tell me you didn't spend your money on this?
That is NOT worth $150 USD.
You can easily build a decent budget kit for about $200 CAD as well, not top of the line but decent.
