Considering this was transferred from a VHS cassette, which was recorded straight off the terrestrial TV, it’s likely the poor mix is due to degradation and low quality recording equipment.
great song..one in million..top of the world..love you guys,SUEDE.and Brett you are the best on the stage. I 've never seen anyone like you. you "re artistic .
i agree about the levels but i love it that he plays a bass *line* rather than just thickening up the guitar part like most indie-type bass players. such a shame that they couldn't share the road with Bernard for longer...
Lyrics were never their strong point granted, but as a fan of Bowie, Roxy Music, Prince, Bolan/T-Rex, The Smiths, PSB, The Sex Pistols, Commotions, The Stooges, The Fall and the countless other bands Suede were inspired by - I still love them. Their debut, Dog Man Star, Coming Up and even half of Head Music still stands up today. Worst band ever? Utter bollox.
@ploopyism You don't like The Velvet Underground, The Strokes or The Stooges? But it's indeed amazing how many fantastic British bands have been denied outside their country, especially America: Roxy Music, The Kinks, The Specials, The Smiths, The Jam, The Buzzcocks...
Matt's bass line is brilliant~
I guess the sound mixer wasnt there that day... but this is great if you wanna learn the bass part.

Would have liked to hear how the SNL audience reacted to them.
dat bass
Fuck were they rocking raw 1993, not saying they weren't brilliant afterwards but this edgy sound is really something extraordinary
My favorite era.
Yeah, not SNL.
MYV studios
HOT!!!!!
Your opinion stinks.I saw them in concert and they were awesome.Suede,Peter Murphy,Gary Numan, take your pick. They all wanted to emulate Bowie.
this isnt snl. is it? o.o
oh, and by the way.. how bowiestic
Isn't this the Conan O'Brien show?
Yeah, the sound mix was askew a bit, should have been more guitar, slightly less bass.

RogueRotting360 their debut album was suede not dog man star
That's what he said. Their debut album, Dog Man Star, Coming Up, and half of Head Music still stand up today for him.
Nice to see The Fall mentioned. One of my favourite bands
Don't forget Sci Fi Lullabies... it's as good as the first 3 albums!!

as nice as the bass is..it is too dominant. for a bass Think the levels are a little off. Can barely hear Bernie
I love this song, but the bass is awful on this performance. Listen to those flubbed notes going into the chorus. Ugh.
Lame
