For you peanut heads who complain about commentary by a racer who knows exactly what he is talking about, back when the tracks were good, the racing was great, and we did not care much about the commentator. It was nice when David Bailey first did it, because like RC, he knew what he was talking about. But you jokes don't care about solid information, you just want to be entertained. Well,the racing used to be great, and you are complaining about a very knowledgeable RC, while watching crappy racing. You are complaining about the wrong thing. Go watch a cartoon.
You're true but have to say Jeff Emig always was giving solid information and he wasn't that much the entertaining guy.

NBC coverage yesterday was terrible. We were missing so many battles and they mostly had shots of one ride and not multiple if they zoomed out the frame

I have never been so let down with season opener 😢 I just might wear out ff button on the remote!! Horrible NBC sports, just horrible edit, commentary, behind the scenes, and even commercials minus a few 😢😢😢
dude I know I felt like we were watching a good battle going on and as soon as things were shaping up for a pass they would switch cameras to someone just cruising around or the leader just putting in their laps. ALOT was missed from the TV coverage.
The NBC coverage was so bad I got a refund from NBC. Soo disappointed in NBC. When is their contract up so FOX/Disney can take over

I miss the good old days when you could watch the race on regular tv. Thanks to Monster Energy and NBC (kind of) for keeping Supercross alive.

ErikLeePhotography you can watch it on TV without a package lol. You just can't watch the qualifying you can watch all the heat races, both last chance qualifying and both main events, just gotta pay to watch qualifying

My reason for this comment is that I’m an Australian parrot like Leigh Diffey is and he has a very B grade commentary history over here, which is very suprising why he has been handed such a high profile commentary slot over in the US??
He was stumbling the whole night with riders names & backgrounds etc, where both Ralph & Jeff are both masters in the world of Motocross / Supercross....

@Johnny Mack No doubt. Commentators should be ex-champion racers, not people who don't know a "high side" from a "endo". These kids cheer for people who don't know what they are talking about. I don't understand that at all.
Ralph is way better than the new guy and he's been involved in MX for over 20 years. I don't see people complaining every NFL announcer isn't a former player or coach never mind a Superbowl MVP. Not every rider can be a good announcer, it's actually not as easy as it seems to be.

Ken suffers from Epstein Barr virus since the middle of last years season so his body looses all of its strengst at the end of each race.
The coverage was bad. Several times they cut away during a key battle. Oh yea, where did they get this new announcer guy? What were they thinking? Ralph was doing just fine.
Agree. They completely missed all the key racing incidents live and had to go by the crowds roar to wonder "gee did we miss something?" We were only see stuff happen on reply and not in the heat of the moment. Killed it 4me

Ralph, the guy who would call a "high side" and "endo". I thought we got away from those non-knowledgeable announcers in the early 90's.

@@jaymontgomery3330 Definitely not counting him out. He'll win races for sure and he is a great rider it's just the guy can't get good starts and its really hurting his results. I really think it's a mental game with him for sure.
Plus the Kawi has let him down a few times in the past at crucial times which messes with his head also.
Also I think the arm pump was just an excuse because his 450 rookie teammate out rode him all day. Honestly everyone knows Tomac is one of the most fit riders out there.
It's hard to believe how precisely these riders time their jumps and turns. So much air time! So many great riders!

How dowe get full races
Like it or not, the talent level is not was it has been In super cross. There are no McGrath’s, Bubbas, Carmichael’s, Dungee’s riding right now. Where is the “Superstar”? That one rider that fills the stands? There isn’t one.

F. Lares . Every sport evolves w it’s players/riders. From M Jordan to Labron. That’s evolution. Super cross doesn’t have a superstar. Tomac is good, he’s not a Great. I’m not saying the sport is dead. There sure is hell is not someone riding now who is a must see future legend.

0:39 Is this legal? I mean, in any other form of racing taking a short cut in the apex of a curve is a no deal, but if it happens in the air does it count as a yes? I mean, in tennis if the ball is hit outside the net from the edge of the court, even if it is lower than the net it counts as a point, provided it falls within the lines of the opponent. Cooper Webb is another fella who deserves recognition for riding with the flu! Eli Tomac isn't as good on these indoor tracks as he is on the outdoor. Dude is unstoppable on the outdoor circuit and in my opinion that's what its all about. Any track that you can get around in 58 seconds isn't the same..

The tracks suck. If you don't get a good start, you are pretty much stuck where you are at, because the tracks are not challenging enough to slow anybody down or let the true talent rise. It is a combination of the 4-stroke, and the crappy FIM tracks. Nobody is "great" anymore, and everybody is stuck at a fast average.

@@EarthSurferUSAOthers COULD move up but Tomac only made up places when others crashed. Won't say he can't do better at the next races and he surely will, but here he wasn't doing strong. A rider who wants to fight for the title has to do better.

The tracks make everybody the same speed pretty much. Get a bad start, and you can't pass enough to get up front. He does not suck at SX, he sucks at starts. All you have to do is watch the live lap times, and you can see when he was in 8th with 10 laps left, he was going nowhere. He was only .5 seconds slower than the leaders, but 8 seconds away from catching 7th place. His race was done right there. These FIM tracks are terrible.

I'm not sure why so many people love Chad Reed I've been watching supercross religiously since the 90's and I think he's done some of the dirtiest riding out of everyone over the years I respect his talent and think with age he has let some of that go but sorry not a fan.

But as far as his racing goes if he was training and got on a good team I believe he could be a top 5 guy still people give him shit for his results but he doesn't train atleast the last few years and it's not like he's on a top team I think he's a hell of a racer just feel if he couldn't beat them he would try to take them out and then cry about it. I wouldn't walk across the street to meet him.

Barcia by far isn’t the dirtiest rider nor did he ride dirty last night he was clean and smooth.
