I haven't watched more than a minute of this yet, but I will make a comment based on the title because sometimes it is worth seeing if we are tapping into the same Spirit. The title seems to be similar to a concept that I've been pondering for several years about the "Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament." I am Catholic, and I find deep sacramental meaning in what Jesus left us at the Last Supper. However, the meaning I take is not about recognizing Jesus in the bread. It is about recognizing the divine presence of God's spirit in everyone. I will try to avoid getting into the details of the "Univocity of Being" that the Franciscan theology promotes. I will simply say that I think it relates to this concept I carry regarding "communion."
Is there not something tremendously meaningful trying to be conveyed by the many appearances of Christ resurrected where the people did not recognize him? I would say that our vision is even worse if we can see and adore Christ in bread but not do the same with other people (and creation). It seems almost like a case of the "telephone game," where a message is whispered from one to another and comes out very confused and distorted at the other end of the line.
