EA ruined this game porting it to the Mega Drive... Its original version for the Machintosh was far better and even considered a classic for that platform Thanks EA for ruining yet another good game

I had Genesis as a kid but I never played this one, I pretty much only got games EGM magazine gave a score of 8/10 or higher to. Also, I want Burger King after watching this video... that subliminal advertising in the main lobby.
@@Cruor34 I think that James Rolfe is an average player but regarding his character the Nerd, he usually plays badly on purpose just to highlight the games' flaws. The game has some weird controls but after a few gameplays you get used to them. As you can see, I could beat the game with ease without even getting hit once. I wouldn't say this is a good game, or at least a good port, but it's not as terrible as he says. The problem is that people take his words for granted and repeat everything he says/thinks instead of trying the games for themselves. In my opinion, it's a very original game with some fantastic ideas, especially when it was first released back in 1986. Obviously, this is a lazy port for a better system with no mouse to control the arm's movement.

i amazed by the same digit as on mac se on genesis. loud and clear. however some minor details are missing here and there in the game whether sample effect, voice ou monster. theend screen wasn't on mac se also. goodthing they put it although we never escaped that castle for a good reason. this version is closer to the amiga version than the mac se one but it is good to see it in color :) so sorry the game is unplayable on genesis. congrats to the youtuber for such a demonstration.

Great game for the Mac in the early 80s. Good high-resolution graphics, nice style, good animations, great sound samples. The conversion is beyond terrible. Firstly, the shooting control without a mouse does not work. Second, it is a game that was 10 years old at the time. And on top of that, it is just, ugly, clunky... they just did the minimum effort. Pitiful.
I don't know how you managed to pull this off, but DON'T let AVGN see this! I don't know if he beat the whole game. Maybe he did. But MAN, it PISSED HIM OFF!
This just looks so frustrating to play. I loved playing Dark Castle and Beyond Dark Castle on my dad’s Macintosh, but I can’t imagine trying to play it without a keyboard and mouse. This just looks so sluggish and frustrating compared to the responsive computer version. Also, the black and white graphics always looked good to me, but this is just bad all the way around.

This version is like a slap in the face to the original one. This looks horrendous on all levels: graphics, the color palette, the music, the animations, the physics... and when i thought it couldnt get worse i see that the shield protects you against the gargoyle in this *%&/ version
So once you pick up the shield, you have to get struck by lightning while holding it above your head, and then you have it as a power up? How'd you figure that one out?
