- This Bengali video presents Birendra Krishna Bhadra Biography with history of Mahalaya ( বীরেন্দ্র কৃষ্ণ ভদ্র ও মহালয়ার গল্প ইতিহাস )in a broad scale. His life story with Mahalaya ( বীরেন্দ্র কৃষ্ণ ভদ্রের জীবনী ) is not easy to tell in this short span. But I have tried heart and soul to uphold his major activities with dignity.
He was born on 4th August in 1905 and died on 3rd November in 1991. He was a radio broadcaster, playwright, actor, narrator and theatre director . He was the contemporary of Pankaj Mallick and Kazi Nazrul Islam. He worked for the All India Radio for several years during its early, starting 1930s, and during this period he produced and adapted several plays.
Today, he is most known for his soaring Sanskrit recitation and India's oldest radio show, “Mahishashura Mardini”(1932), a collection of shlokas and songs broadcast by All India Radio Calcutta (now Kolkata) at 4:00 am, in the dawn of Mahalaya. He is , in fact, an immoral figure in the Bengali only for this “Mahalaya” which has been broadcast for last 87 years.

Birendra Krishna Bhadra was an Unparallel Personality in Bengal.Mahalaya is Incomplete without him.His Chandipath Slokhpath immensely gives Goosebumps at the Morning of Mahalaya.Maa Durga Has Showered her all blessings on him.Uttam Kumar was also Projected as the Presentator at the Morning of Mahalaya in 1976 but it was not accepted by Bengali's.Akashvani had not shown Proper Respect and Honour to this Man..Birendra Krishna Bhadra will remain forever in our Hearts and Co-incidentally my Birthday is also 4th August..Your Presentation and Detailed Knowledge is a Gift for me, My Cherish is to meet you Someday If Possible God Bless You and Your Family and My Respect for you..Bhalo Thakben Sustho Thakben🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹

At a very early age, Birendra Krishna was diagnosed with life-threatening disease diphtheria. An English doctor whom they consulted, after examining Birendra Krishna said he can save his life but won’t be able to safeguard his vocal cord. His life was saved but since then his voice became very different from other normal people. Is truth??
