My father used to take me to the coliseum in Charlotte, N.C. to hear them and others on some Sunday evenings. And there would be other gospel groups aswell. I am now 70 years old now and these songs takes me way way back. I was raised in the A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church. And now l am a Pastor of a Holiness Church. To God be all the glory.
This some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard .Voices of angels . Amazing. This is the music I heard a long time ago growing up but it still sounds good today . God bless yall , Be safe . 🙏 Miss . Linda ❤❤❤❤
I first heard the Harmonizing Four when I was 12-years old, along with the Soul Stirrers, at Hall UMC in Glen Burnie, Md. Gospel Joe and Elec, the bass.
I just rediscovered them. I had a CD that was lost and I had forgotten the name of the group I t took me a lot of internet searching and listening to find them again. Ellis was a true wonder. What a voice! Such range and warmth.
Ellis Johnson had an amazing basso voice with an unbelievable range, Sounds like he had perfect pitch, his voice just rolled out the notes with little effort. It`s no wonder that he was known as "THE WONDER OF GOSPEL" You could tell he led the group with his powerful voice.
This is a very good selection of gospel melodies, but i think not all the tunes are the Harmonizing Four. It would be great if someone with more knowledge than me could post a playlist. Bless these singers and all who love them.
Hi Kendall . A few weeks ago I discovered the name of the song you asked for. The name is: There''s a man walking wih me and the real singer is E.R.Faust. And not the Staplesingers! . A little mistake of the discjocky I think. He made one single in 1965 and you can hear it on Spotify. And with a better sound! I hope you will appreciate after 3 years my answer! With regards Reint Kunst.

There is none alive today who is better. 😢

The Soul Stirrers
No other gospel quartet or group ever captured their sound, great harmony, always the best bass singer in gospel, and their wonderful tenor.
Praying for America...

@@reintkunst7919 thank you
Really great band. The well known Golden Gate Quartet is too mechanic, not so authentic. The H4 stirs up your insides.
Better call Saul
