  • This video was suggested by one of my students when I was drawing a portrait last year. She said I should film myself drawing a portrait in time lapse so they would be able to see how I draw and shade. I started filming after I had gotten some of the background done, so you will see most of the process. I don't ever use blending stumps or my fingers to blend anything. I believe you should shade only with pencil and the skill of the pressure you use. You will see me use 6B, 4B, HB, 4H, and 6H pencils as well as a mechanical pencil to get the tiny details in. This is done over a period of days in my classroom and in my home studio.

Thank you so much Christina! I really love to draw! And I love Johnny Cash!
I actually am having my first show tonight in a small town east of where I live. I hope it goes well. I would love to have large shows, but we will see where this takes me.

I live on the outskirts of San Diego do you live anywhere close to me? I would definitely go and see your drawings! I'm very creative in clay jewelry but not drawing. The girl I work with does scratchboard, it's fantastic. You are right up there with her I'm totally Blown Away!
