I helped my daughter as she was living in another state getting her PhD and she needed to eat so I gave her cash and I would put my gas and groceries on my credit card. We made it through but 4 years later I owe $10,000 on my cc. Phew, debt confession is hard!

I hate the feeling of being in debt so much! It can happen so quickly and easily though and in your case, food for family is such a valid need. ❤❤❤

We bought a house in the spring of 2023. Six months later we turned around and took out a HELOC so we could do a massive upgrade of the electrical as it was a safety thing. We were super aggressive paying it down automatically every month. It just so happens we just paid it off in under a year and it coincides within a month of my car loan being finished. Now we can start putting more money towards my student loans and saving for our new baby’s future too. We tend to treat our credit cards like debit cards so we hope to never carry a balance.

Hi jordan. I'm a blast from the past. I bought my 1st binder from you! It's been a tough 2 years, but I've survived! 😊

I like the idea of pulling the envelope as it's fully filled! I'm working on paying off debt by using savings challenges in a book that ranges from 200 to 500.

I'm using saving challenges to pay off debt whenever possible. It's just tough right now, though. Everything is so expensive, but I got myself into debt, so now to pay it off little by little 😅

I love the dependability of a new car, bought mine in 2011 - it's still running but needs a repair. Moving costs a fortune! We did it 4 times and we lost so much money each time. It's crushing. I would love to have a shop but like you, wonder how I would keep it all straight? It's a lot. We're retired but husband works part-time, we live on that, then save every other dime except for the 10k dental bill, the tires we need, the car repair we need etc etc. (OH LIFE!!). Our house was paid for 8/23, then my husband's truck 7/24, debt snowball works amazing so anything you can pay while doing the challenges all the better. Your idea on the 100 days is great, I am all for emptying those challenges when necessary! I reprinted all of my stuff this week to start over and will use the money to pay for our car bill (I sigh..)

I love the idea of pulling the envelope when a tracker is full if that is what gives you the psychological boost to keep going to finish the savings challenge! 😀

So true. I've been on a spending spree lately with vacation and back to school. I'm getting myself back on track, too.

I’m also doing the 100 envelope challenge but when I finish it I pay my credit card off all at once in the mean while I’m making payments to the credit card it works for me the way I do it I have paid off many times my credit card 💳.

Hey Jordan, I too am in debt, so I’ve been working on the smallest debt first and then move to the next one. It’s called the snow ball method, it’s been working but slowly. So I just try to stay focused and keep my spending down, in fact I just cancelled some streaming services and am closely watching my account. Good luck on your journey😊.

I totally get not “ mixing” or pulling money from one sinking fund to the other;( mine is usually Birthday or Christmas fund that take a hit).

I have student loan debt, that's in forbearance right now. I am still saving for(using one of your trackers) and anytime I reach 1,000$ I put it in a high yield saving account and it will be there until I need to start paying things off again. That's my only debt.

I also bought a used car with a loan last year. While not ideal, having a loan I feel is better than spending a lot on maintenance repairs for a cheap car.

    Hi Beautiful
    It’s Dianna
My car payment was $600.00 a month. It was in the shop more than l was driving it. So now I’m in debt because l told Chevrolet to come get it because DriveTime sold me a lemon.

We moved from Arkansas to Kansas last year and before we moved I was a stay at home mom for 5 years. We bought a house and then just the cost of living was more here then in Arkansas to where I had to go back to work and unfortunately my boys are in day care. Living around family now have you thought about going back to work even part time for a short period of time at night or weekends to help get ahead and help pay off the debt faster??

I’m a landlord but I’m not a slum landlord I’m very nice to my renters but sometimes they take advantage of us and they put us in debt for example we tell our renters to always let us know when something brakes a while back in the winter the roof was leaking in the bathroom no one told us when they did the roof caved in it cost to put a new roof $9000 🙈🙈🙈🙈😱😱😱😱😱
