I call it eating the stop losses.
When it's consolidating like that, I don't call it a strong level of support. I call that a wait and see which way it breaks.
Liquidity grabs are an absolute nightmare. I wasn't investing much on the USD/JPY FOREX, but still, this was a double liquidity grab, shooting right up and then right back down to eventually form a candle with two long wicks after breaking resistance on Wed 13th September. All those stop losses that were hit. I feel for people in this situation.
And to new traders I would STRONGLY advise that before you put on your trade ALWAYS put on a stop loss, especially margin trading. It was yesterday, around 13:15 ( UTC+1 time) and the US rates figures came out. The market really went ballistic and worse, my internet provider went down. If you had, for example, put on an investment, planning to put the stop loss on after, you'd have been locked out and most likely that massive spike would have wiped your account out. This happened on USD pairs.
Far better taking a big hit than losing your account completely.

That’s a really good definition of liquidity. It goes along with the Wykoff spring. It liquidates stops and high leverage, other traders see it as a good entry because it’s cheaper. This drives price higher.
Back then its called fake breakout. Now its called liquidty grab
yeah, now days they make a lot of new flashy terms for the same old shit.
Facts
Fake breakout was always the incorrect term. Liquidity grab describes actual market behaviours, not someone's perceived understanding of the market. The less inaccurate stupid lingo, the better for everyone.

@@JordanLeightrials Not exactly. A Failed Breakout breakout could be exactly that. Price is grabbing liquidity at all times.

Best way to predict market movement is in which direction the most amout of positions will get fcked
When price action is that sloppy, there is some indication that liquidity is poor to begin with. The indicator is volume. If there is no volume, it's just you and the MM playing go fish. At least if they trigger some stop losses the stock will show up on volume screeners and attract the traders necessary to move price. But why not just screen for volume to see where the action is, and look for an entry?

Institutional traders absorb these sell-orders with buy-limits.
Remember that market-Orders execute into limit-orders in order to make an exchange possible.
So limit-orders basically hold the market-sells and prevent price from dropping until sellers give up and close positions, get stopped out (sell orders turn into market buy and lift the offer/push price up)

Don't use any bs indicator just keep the basics in mind, support and resistance are not just lines rather they are areas, and DO NOT enter unless the candle is closed.

@@JavaTusker basically, if a long wick candle breaks through it’s a fake breakout/liquidity grab. If a closed candle breaks through support or resistant areas it’s a confirmed trend

Make one single free indicator :- which provide us both support and Resistance & Trendline and Chart patterns all together. And give correct value according to changing of the price in the market.

Yes it’s on every chart, when a strong line is broken it will grab whatever orders are right below the line and if the direction is satisfied, you will see a good sized wick. Place your entry on wicks always. Good luck

In this case buyers win the game. Because the seller was trying to push the price lower. But the buyer bush it upwards. It means buyers are much stronger and they will make the price move very high.
