Weston: The docs don't have a shank, which is a big deal

I’d like to toss the idea out to you to deconstruct a fake/knock-off of a popular name brand - ie. Doc Martens or any other name brand of your choosing (fakes are made for practically every name brand that exists); it would be relatively cheap and it would be interesting to see if knockoffs come close to construction because they come pretty darn close to how they look aesthetically compared to the authentic name brand.

I have a pair of premium Timberlands that I have owned for 10 years . I wear them every year (fall-spring) and they still look amazing.

Dr. Martens: Low quality leather, no shank, soles wear out fast, $230..... It just doesn't add up.

I love the way Docs look and I really wish they would improve the quality. I thought they were supposed to be a point of pride for England.

Our generation needs a new, strong brand. Do some research about the prices of those boots long before they where bought by some investors.

I've never worn or wanted to wear either of these brands, but this is still super entertaining and informative to watch!

Love my Timbs! Picked up a pair for like $50 shopping in the kids section of Marshals. I’ve been wearing them through every New England winter for at least 7 years. Wore a hole through the insert last year but I just threw a pair of Dr. Scholl's in there and they still have a lot of life left in them.

I've been wearing my "newest" Timberland Boots for over 5 years. I was in the market for a new pair of boots and saw Doc Martens and was curious about them. I'm glad I watched this video. Looks like I'm sticking to Timberlands. I still wear my oldest pair with the sole coming off and no laces for quick grocery shopping trips and they're the comfiest pair of shoes I have.

I'll keep saying this, Docs are just shoes. They were originally sold and produced as shoes, and they happen to have boot-like-design with none of the functionality. I wore docs for a super long time and they aren't tough at all, the rubber they make the soles out of is sub-par

I don't think anyone who's into Dr Martens would ever switch to Timberlands. To me, Timberlands look like construction boots.

I had a hip replacement. Now my right leg is 3/4" shorter than the left. on a pair of Skechers ankle boots, I built a dam around the heel with masking tape send used two tubes of the goop to rebuild and heighten the heel. Works great w/o heel hightening insert. ☺

I bought a pair of the Tim's boat shoes which are welted with the same urethane soles and they are incredibly durable. I've been wearing them almost every day throughout the summer (Australia) to work and back (I commute and walk a lot between home and work) and have been very impressed.
