Recently I got this quite new piece of device from @yamahaglobal along with condenser microphone to test. Yamaha AG08 looks easy to operate and learn if you are looking for professional mixer. Together with Yamaha YCM01 makes quite nice duo for podcast recordings, live streamings or similar activities. If you're looking for such a device or a condenser microphone for not big amount of money, be sure to watch this review to the end and figure out if this equipment suits your needs.

Newest Yamaha mixer for streamers and podcasters. Check for yourself if this device fits your needs. Enjoy!
ROCKIN 💢💖👌👍
1:34 The AG08 specifications from Yamaha's website say that it caps out at 24-bit, 48kHz. Presumably, because it's targeted more for streaming and not recording (which is why the AG03/AG06 go up to 192kHz and feature the 'dry' mode).
True, my bad! Thank you!
Thanks for this! Can you record the tracks individually with a DAW? I use Reaper. Any control for gain or EQ for channels 5/6 or 7/8? Thanks!
Hey, yes you can record separate tracks when you are using is as an audio interface. You need to choose the „DAW” option in preferences. When on a Mac, you have to also give additional security permissions to fully use it as an audio interface and have control from the app.
And I haven’t seen any EQs for more than first two channels.
@@cactuzzsound Thanks very much for the reply!
Ive been looking for my ''perfect'' streaming mixer and this is almost it. Does it bother you that this mixer has no gate function?
You mean noise gate? Depends how noisy is your input. Anyway maybe streaming software can provide gate as an insert plugin.
Hello Mate, I found your video to be the best about the Yamaha AG08, I went ahead and purchased one... and now that I have it, there is one thing I can't seem to locate and I'm hoping it really standard feature for this EXPENSIVE mixer... it's Noise Gate, could you kindly help me on how to access/set the noise gate for the mic? because without noise gate the mic will pick up the headphones sound and trigger the ducking which then sounds horrible. Pls help
Hey, happy to read you liked the video. I had it for couple of weeks to test, unfortunatelly I don’t have the mixer anymore. As far as I remember and from what I can see in my video and photos there is no noise gate. I suppose you either should try using third party noise gate or use closed headphones.
@@cactuzzsound I kinda though so… I’m using OBS for the noise gate (and ducking) I was hoping I could accomplish this with the Yamaha… shame. Maybe in a future update if the firmware. I’ve contacted them and let’s see what the say… I find it hilarious that this mixer at this price point lacking so
Many features.. extremely overpriced. But it has one of the best effect around for sure and that’s why (sadly) I decided to keep it.
Thanks again
@@DocFUNKist please keep me updated about firmware changes and adding noise gate to it.
@@cactuzzsound The response I received from YAMAHA in this regard... "Currently this mixer does not have a built in Noise Gate that can be controlled from the mixer, however most streaming software packages like Steinberg Wavelab Cast do offer this type of feature." I think at this price point... this is a joke...
Hard to disagree
how does this compare with the rodecaster pro/pro2
I haven’t used Rodecaster.
Why the Amp is so terrible
It’s mainly made for voice recording, amp is just an additional option for demo recordings I suppose.
@@cactuzzsound thank you!
If you want a better guitar amp in this kind of mixer there’s boss.
But This is way easier to setup anyway and most people use multifx of their choice anyway to the line input
